This park is located about a 20 minute drive from Quebec City which makes it a great location for exploring the area. The campground is most made up of seasonal campers who use the area for vacationing. Normally, that review only would deter me from staying here. However the seasonal campers do a nice job keeping their sites manicured and clean. Since we were here after Labor Day, most of the seasonal residents were not in residence. The park is located on a hillside in a heavily wooded area. Our site was quite beautiful and we backed up to dense woods. However, getting into the spot was a bit tricky as we had to drive up a steep hill and then back the camper up a hill to get to the more level area. Make sure you have leveling blocks handy. You will need them. The location of the utilities was good. The clubhouse has a pool, DVD's to check out and free WiFi. WiFi can be purchased at your site for $2.00 a day. We camped at Camping de la Joie in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The IGA grocery is close by. CANAC (like a Home Depot) at exit 156 refills propane tanks. Quebec City is a must. If you have a tall vehicle (we drive an F-250) you will not be able to park in a garage. Parking is available along the street if you go to the upper side.

This was our second visit to Quebec City. Last year we stayed at another park and the best advantage of it was being right off the Trans Canada. This campground is about 20 minutes from the Trans Canada, but a much different type of campground. Nice spots with tree's. Two playgrounds, a nice pool with toys and floaties available. The bathroom was very clean and it had a full length mirror which was nice. The main building had a store, library, a restaurant, board games and puzzles and free wifi upstairs and the basement was like a grandma house. It had three washers and dryers, new and clean, a toy area, fooseball, ping pong and pool table. We there over the weekend and drove into the old city, only 20 minutes but if we were there on a weekday we would have used the shuttle. $25 for a family. Only gave it a 9 as it's on a very steep hill and they have tall speed bumps which the trailer would scrape on. If you want a relaxing stop or are stopping more then one night, it's so much nicer than the other park on the Trans Canada. We camped at Camping de la Joie in a Tent Trailer.

My kinda place! "Homey," friendly people, pet friendly, pool, convenience store and little restaurant on site, close to Quebec city, shuttle into city, shady, hilly, etc., etc. A lot of nice little seasonal summer places. Our motor home is 26' long and we were quite comfortable. I would say that if you come in with one of the big rigs, you might have a problem. We camped at Camping de la Joie in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Suggest that you take the park shuttle into Quebec City. Our driver was actually the park owner and took us directly to the location where the city tours start. $16 per person RT. Worth it to avoid having to navigate those narrow streets with busy traffic! Yeah, we would come back again!

We stayed at this campground for 2 weeks to visit our family in Quebec city and when we arrived we had to drive in the wrong way up a hill to try to back up our trailer between rocks and trees. It was a challenge. Showers and parks were good. The pool is not heated (very cold). The worst is that we paid 2 extra dollars per day to get WIFI, and it did not properly work. I should say, barely worked. I went twice to complain and actually spoke with the owner, but she did not care too much and barely offer a reimbursement, but then I would lose all the access. For people travelling for 5 weeks, Internet access is important for various reasons. Will not go back there for those reasons and for the fact that the owner said to me she did not mind me writing a negative comment online. Not impressed! Don't get WIFI, not working !!!!! We camped at Camping de la Joie in a Travel Trailer.

We are spending 5 nights at this very nice campground. 20 minutes easy drive into Quebec City and optional shuttle for $16 Candian RT per adult (there's a family discount).

Wooded, clean, nice pool, onsite restaurant has plenty of options, free internet at the spacious and comfortable office/store/lounge/deck center. Staff was friendly and helpful.

As another poster mentioned, there are a good number of seasonals. Park well kept and very family oriented. We would stay here again. We camped at Camping de la Joie in a Motorhome.

Small food market very close. Larger IGA just a little further but still close.

Pool was nice. road a little rough. 2/3s are seasonal. close to Quebec City. They have a shuttle for $14 pp round trip to the old City. Well worth it so you don't have to find a parking space. The shuttle runs 3 times a day. WIFI is spotty and cost $2 a day or $10 a week. It looks like I'm the first and only one to review this campground even though it looks like it's been here a while? It's very wooded. I would stay here again. We camped at Camping de la Joie in a Motorhome.
