Bad: Very tight spots, no shade and only two (!) bathrooms for the entire park.

Good: Close to town and on the water. We camped at Camping Ancre Jaune in a Travel Trailer.

Rate was in Canadian dollars, cash only. OK for a one-night stopover and the plus is that this small campground is on the water so you can stroll along the beach. It is a bit difficult to locate since it is surrounded by a residential neighborhood. Owners were not there but their grand-daughter checked us in. The price for a non-waterfront grass site with 30 amps, water and electric was on the high side for the region. Would try another campground next time. We camped at Camping Ancre Jaune in a Motorhome.

We'll take a 15amp/water site to be right on the shore of the St. Lawrence River; just pulled straight in at Site 18 and walked three feet to reach the beach. In our book - Awesome! This is a popular campground located one block off Route 132. Be sure you know where you are going, there is no sign on the main highway to lead you to the campground. Sites are grass and fairly level. Park is clean, well-managed, and does offer 30 and 50 amp full-hookup sites. The park's WiFi was good and the gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and spoke a bit of English. We camped at Camping Ancre Jaune in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the driftwood sculptures located throughout the town. Each year new ones are added to the collection during the annual mid-August festival.

This is a small square campground with mostly grass sites. There are no signs on the main highway indicating its location so you need to have clear directions to get there even though it is just a block off the highway. The campground is located in town and is convenient to a couple of restaurants. We have a 42-foot RV and maneuvering was a little tight but doable. Their Wi-Fi worked and we were able to get Direct TV at our 30-amp site. We camped at Camping Ancre Jaune in a Motorhome.

The park is very well maintained. They have constructed new stairs to the beach and the staff was very helpful. We arrived in the pouring rain and the woman on duty still walked to the site and helped direct me backing in. The Wi-Fi works great. We would have stayed here longer but did not know that you can not bring dogs into the nearby Parc National de la Gaspesie which limited what we could do in the area. We camped at Camping Ancre Jaune in a Fifth Wheel.

Two things make this CG a little hard for me to rate - most everything was in French so I'm sure I didn't know of all the services they had, and we were there during a bad storm, so conditions were certainly not optimal for recreation! The owners/staff mostly just speak French, but were friendly and, I think, enjoyed practicing their English with us! The CG wasn't fancy but was laid out in a way that was easy for us to get into our spot. It has great ocean-front views and access (with nice new stairs they built). The "3 service" hook-ups (water, sewer, and 50amp) were great, looked newly done. If I remember correctly, they don't take credit cards -so bring enough Canadian cash. Also, the CG is a little hard to find, since they are not on the main road through town, but rather on the closest parallel road to the ocean. But if you look on their website, they show a good little map layout. And they have a great German Shepard that I fell in love with! I wish it had been better weather for us for our stay here (I had wanted to go explore the Chic-Choc mountains, but with the storm, we couldn't even SEE them!), but I'm glad we at least had a good place (although exposed because of the oceanfront location) to wait it out. We camped at Camping Ancre Jaune in a Motorhome.
