3 Parks near Val David, Quebec
Jul 2008 - $30.00
Showers require coin and water not always hot. Showers very small and dark. Some very beautiful spots with a river fed large pond available for swimming. There is NO dump station. If you wish to dump you must pull into a site with sewers, dump there and pay a $5.00 fee. Owner speaks good English. - Gandalf

This is a very large campground with almost 500 sites including a number of sections for seasonals and full-timers. Despite its size there are only about 20 EWS sites with 50amp electricity for RV's > 35', half of which are pull-through - fortunately these sites are located at the far end of the campground where there is less traffic and it tends to be quieter. Most sites in the campground are open, however there are several shaded sites with EW for tents and pop-ups. WiFi is available at the office and rec centre. There are washrooms, free showers and laundry facilities ($2 each for wash & dry) in several places throughout the park. Free passes to Lac des Sables beach are provided. Kayak, canoe and paddle boat rentals are available ($13/hr).
Our site (#492) was 30' x 60', however the placement of the electric post next to the narrow gravel pad, makes the last 10' feet of the pad unusable if you have slides - this was the case at several of the back-in 50 amp sites. Each site has a firepit and picnic table.
Be cautious when using a GPS. My Magellan sent me 3 km past the campground. According to campground staff this is a common occurrence - they might want to consider mentioning this on their website or advising people when they call for a reservation. When turning onto chemin du Lac-des-Sables from Hwy 329, the campground entrance is the first driveway on the left. - driftdiver1
Jul 2016 - $45.00
This is a very large campground (350+ sites) with a lake and beach, its own restaurant and social room (where they do bingo and other games). While it's very convenient to Saint Jerome, it's quite a trip into Montreal (45-50 minutes) with a lot of traffic most times of the day. Where we (and most of the other short-termers) were located was way in the back, and with a 5kph speed limit, it takes quite some time to drive out/in to the site. Most streets are pockmarked with potholes, all are sand/dirt/gravel. If you think you'll be out past 10pm, you have to provide a $10 deposit on a swipe card as they don't occupy the office after that. There are a lot of large families, lots of cars, a lot of people/kids walking on the streets; just a lot of activity. Our site (#246) was very nice, but needed a bit of leveling. There was grass, shade for part of the day and a nice group of trees to look at, as well as a picnic table and fire ring. The hookups were fine with no issues (except I had to use duct tape to keep my surge protector plugged in). Most everyone was quite friendly, and no issues with others' pets. The nearby washroom/laundry was adequate and seemed clean; each washing area was a lockable unisex room. Washers/dryers require a $1 and a 25-cent coin, only! The WiFi was barely passable; good enough signal but throughput was very slow, and you had to pay extra for it. There were a lot of family-oriented amenities and things to do. The security guard at night was very helpful. We might stay here again unless we could find another place closer to Montreal. - RobtL
Jun 2014 - $50.00
This is a huge campground with mostly permanent sites. It is located right in Saint Jerome and is very close to shops, etc. Although our site was supposed to be a pull-through it was in a cul de sac and we had to make a five point turn around to get out. However, the site was very nice, roomy, and located right on the water with trees for shade. We were going to leave early in the morning, heading east, but neighbours to our camp site advised waiting until after 9 as traffic would be very heavy going into Montreal. As it was there was still a lot of traffic so we were glad we had not left earlier. We would stay in this campground again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. - Keewatin Kids
