This is a great small park. We have a 36' class A, which we were able to back into site #7 easily. Spacious private site, set back off road. Last year, we were in site #9 which was a little tricky to back into because of the angle. It would be easier to pull straight into #9 but then the fire ring may be on the wrong side of your rig. Unfortunately, there are no pull-through sites here. Sites #7, 8 and 9 are located in a little alcove which would make for a great three-family compound. No hookups at this campground, but we like boondocking so we don't mind. Hookups would make this campground a 10! There is a water spigot across the street from our site. Bath house is brand new, and we were extremely impressed with the showers! Spacious, clean, a nice door separating your personal dressing area from your shower, great water pressure and temp. 75 cents for 3 minutes, 25 cents each additional minute. There is a dump site near the bath house. Even though it's the first week of August, almost 8 am, it's nice and quiet here. There is a nice lake (reservoir) for fishing, swimming, kayaking, etc. Plenty of hiking and challenging mountain biking. We love this campground! - Bobalou
Oct 2015 - $20.00
This RI state park is very nicely laid out, each site spacious. This time of year, the park was almost empty and we were lucky to be able to chose the site that would work well for our 40' big rig. Roads and sites are gravel, some more level than others, and some with trees in the wrong places! Big rig owners should know which site they are reserving. No utilities but park is clean and appears well-maintained. Located on the Bowdish Reservoir there are swimming and boat launch areas. Many trails around as well. For geocachers, a few caches within the park boundary. - DiplomatTraveler
Jul 2011 - $20.00
Good Verizon voice & data. NO DUMP STATION! Limited drinking water access. Some sites very unlevel and due to reservation system, cannot change sites. I do not recommend this campground for anyone with an RV unless they are very familiar with the specific campsites. Price listed for out of state campers plus reservation fees. We stayed 5 nights. - earlymun
Aug 2016 - $50.00
We were given site #. Map and signage in park poor. Our site had 18 inch tall weeds, no table, no fire pit. Water hookup and electric hook up are not close together. Office staff not very helpful trying to get our group, 3 sites situated elsewhere. The first site was located near old construction vehicles and piles of construction debris.
Our second night we were frightened by a woman wandering into our site yelling at 12:30 am. We called the office no answer. We had to call 911. Woman was taken away and we and others nearby were questioned.
The next day there was no electricity or running water. Entire facility lost power a short time on Saturday and there was none on Sunday. There was no running water or working toilets or showers on Sunday.
We left early to go home.
I have made numerous attempts to speak with someone in charge. The office will not give me the manager's name. I left my contact information but was told: "Don't expect that anyone will call you back."
Overall camp does not look maintained and facilities are not modern or clean. Customer service was extremely poor. - Lynn Botelho
Jul 2016 - $75.00
Upon checking in I had to wait almost 45 minutes to be sent to a site that was occupied. I was charged extra for my 2 companion/service dogs. There is nothing much for kids to do, they say they have kid activities but nothing fantastic. It would be nice if there was a pool but the lake was okay. Their modern bathrooms might have been modern in 1980 but the machine to regulate the 25 cent showers (yes you must pay 25 cents) was on point (working properly) with warm/cold water. The campground Is full of old junk construction equipment. Find another place, you will be thankful you did. - Melissa N
May 2016 - $50.00
We arrived and first had to pay extra for our 2 dogs. A lab, and a 15 lb rescue. We were then told no motorcycles allowed in the park! Its our only transportation! We are quiet grandparents, and had to park the bike near the park office with other bikes. The walk to our bike from our site was 1/2 mile. We were sent to a site, but it was occupied. When I called the office, they sent Us to another, that was occupied! They then proceeded to send us into an area that was too tight for our 37' motorhome. We backed into a rock trying to get out. We finally picked a site that was huge, and private. The lake was beautiful, the campground quiet. The lady that owns the place shouldn't be in the business of working with people. I asked for a golf cart ride to our site, as I have a lung disease. She told me flat out NO! The girls answering the phone at the desk admitted they don't know what size campers fit into the sites. Huge beautiful park. - Cyclegirl00
Sep 2018 - $35.00
We came here on a whim. Showed up with no reservation. They welcomed us in with a nice wooded site. This is definitely a smaller campground, mostly seasonals but everyone seemed friendly. Definitely worth a return trip. I would say the only complaint I'd have is that their dump station is on the wrong side of the road make sure you have at least a 15' hose. - Sstratton6175
Sep 2015 - $20.00
Owners seemed less than thrilled to have us there. We are full-timers and move frequently. We think we are ideal campers (no kids, no dogs, quiet, no parties, etc.). It was very strange, we felt like we were always being 'watched' so they could tell us we were doing something wrong. They did tell us we were driving too fast but it was hard for us to believe because the roads were dirt and uneven with rocks so who would drive fast?? We were in a back in spot that was very hard to maneuver around all the tree limbs. They say they are big rig friendly but we felt it was very tight for our 35 ft. rig. Turning corners was a major effort have to back up to miss large boulders on one side and tree limbs on the other. We did have a very nice fire pit. The dump station is very hard to get to and is on the wrong side for most RVs. We won't be going back here. - RunAroundSue
Sep 2018 - $46.00
This was not a friendly or easy campground to check into. There's a huge extensive form to fill out (too much information) which we've never had before and we're full-time RVers. She was not very nice or helpful. This is mostly an old trailer park, we had to go to a separate road and gate to camp in a trashy unlevel field. The road in is very bumpy. The bathrooms were clean but smelled bad. Showers were old & worn and very small (not everyone would fit in them for sure). Dump station is kept locked. We had to go to help my sister for a week otherwise I would have left. I don't recommend this park! - Moseyin
Aug 2017 - $50.00
Worst cg we have stayed at yet. Dirt roads with large rocks and potholes. Mgmt tried to put us in a dirt field without fhu. Spoke with mgmt to get that changed to a fhu with some grass. Site looked reasonably level but ended up with a high step when all said and done. Picnic table was in very poor condition. 50amp service would not manage our ACs and other appliances. The maintenance man tried to say no 50amp service would support our big rig. This is soooo incorrect. No problem anywhere else. Smelled bad by bathroom. Probably from the greasy chicken griller trailer. People had dogs off the leash. Another group was playing loud music. Would not recommend this place to anyone. - FT Travelers3
Jun 2017 - $40.00
New owner as of last fall and he is making improvements as he can. The entrance road is horrible. It is gravel and full of potholes. Transient camping is pretty much in an open field. Campground caters to seasonals as we have found to be the case in most independent campgrounds in the Northeast. This could be a good campground in a couple years. - Bamagolfer
Aug 2017 - $47.00
I like this campground alot... They have alot to do for families with little kids. It's a smaller campground, nice game room, I wish they had a full time snack bar, the ladies in the front office are so AWESOME. Gets crazy busy and crazy crowded on special weekends (memorial day, 4th of July, etc...) wifi isn't the best..not sure if that matters to some people - BfrmRI
Jun 2017 - $50.00
We stayed here last summer with the grandkids when we had to camp fairly close to home and it worked out great. there was a lot going on for the kids that weekend and for the adults with live bands throughout the weekend. it was a very hot weekend in the 90s and they did lose power but everybody in the park was running their air conditioners and they had the power company out to fix the problem within a couple hours. The campground is very clean, kinda on the rustic side but still very nice, sites are a little small like a lot of CGs are but there was adequate room for our 31' Class C. They served breakfast Sunday morning for a reasonable price; we did not partake because we had the kids. Staff was very friendly and helpful, restrooms were clean. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for anybody visiting or passing through the area - Banditoman60
May 2017 - $47.00
Camping over Memorial Day Weekend and the campground was very busy. Site was back in, but room to get in and out. Campground only has one road that goes in a out which is one lane, so it got busy. Also dump station is at the back of the campground which stayed busy since it was Memorial Day weekend. Will stay again. - bkboren
Oct 2014 - $30.00
This campground used to be a great family place, however in recent years it has seriously gone downhill, as you can see by its dated facilities and drastic decline in seasonal campers. The basketball court has not been refinished in a long time, the park is constantly swarming with hornets and bees, and the beach area is filthy. The events they hold are mediocre at best, with the adult events turning into a bunch of people getting drunk and obnoxious quickly. The events for kids are repetitive and poorly hosted and attended. The drug use in this campground has seriously increased and campers are regularly broken into and stolen from. Seasonal campers are unwelcoming to weekend visitors. - CamperRay
Jul 2014 - $30.00
This seemed like mostly seasonal sites with additions built onto trailers. There was one site- "Jake's Place" that had so much junk on it (I mean junk) that the theme from "Sanford and Son" came into my head every time that I walked by it. The water in the cove looked low, as if it had been drained. The pool was clean. The staff was friendly. There were activities every night in the rec hall until 11. This wasn't a peaceful experience that we were looking for. I don't think we will go back. - RIcamper
Jun 2008 - $36.00
The sites were pretty much out in the open, with very little privacy, ours was just dirt, although we did see some were grassy. The seasonals were not very welcoming. We also had trouble getting a pizza delivered, with the pizza places telling us that there has been trouble at this campground in the past. The bathrooms were dirty. To be fair, the lake is very nice, but not nice enough to stay here again. - JewelsRDH
Sep 2016 - $32.00
If you're looking for the city dump, this is it. I have never seen a park as trashed as this one.
The handicap ramp has several boards missing and it's not useable.
The swimming pool looks like dismal swamp or maybe an algae experiment for the local high school.
When I checked in there was a styrofoam container on the counter with a fork on top of it. The next morning the container was on the railing outside the office. The trash can in the office was overflowing and there was trash on the floor.
The laundry has two large cages with large birds in them. The floor around them was littered with whatever falls out of the cages.
It's a beautiful location which has been left to deteriorate. It doesn't speak well of the owners however nice they may seem. This gross neglect doesn't happen overnight. - User3255
Sep 2015 - $36.00
This place is a real dump with nice, quirky people running it. They don't even weed-wack around the office which is the first thing you see. We couldn't level our rig so we got our exercise running uphill to the bedroom in the back. There is no fire pit and we couldn't reach the sewer in our pull-through without leaving the car on the road. It is really a low end trailer park. There is wifi, but I couldn't access it. I ended up using my personal hotspot on my phone. This was a one night stop so no biggie. - RVerMJ
Jun 2015 - $32.00
This place has definitely seen better days. They do have a pool, but it would have to be stifling out before any of us would use it. We camped with two other families. We come here because it's cheap and not too far away from the Woodstock (CT) Agricultural Fair that runs Labor Day Weekend. We don't spend much time at the campground other than to sleep and eat breakfast. Other than that, we're out all day. So it serves it's purpose.
The sites we had were tiered at the back of the campground, so we pretty much had the area all to ourselves. The utilities were rather new and in good condition.
The Owners are a bit odd, but nice people. Propane is a bargain, so it's a good place to fill up if you're low. - grumpah
Jun 2013 - $79.00
This was a tough one to review. My rating reflects a comparison to other campgrounds which this is really not. It's a concert venue with some 200 plus seasonal sites and very few (I was told maybe as little as six) sites available for reservation. If you are there when there's not a concert, there's very little to offer by way of amenities/activities. They have a very nice pool and bathhouse and the facilities where clean. The camp store doubles as a gift shop/main entrance on show days and offers virtually nothing as far as supplies go. There is a gas station with a Food Mart adjacent to the property which you can walk to. It has everything (including Subway, Dunkin Donuts) just not a lot of camping supplies. When shows aren't going on you can wander around the venue and have access to a lakefront. They do charge something extra per person and require a $25 refundable deposit for the pool/bathhouse. If you're there for a concert weekend they require a 2 night minimum. They allow you to check out late on Sunday which is nice because they really pack them in. The venue is a great place to see performers up close and they have all the usual concessions. There's plenty of space to wander around and you can still hear the music down by the lakefront. The people who work there and the seasonals who stay there were all very friendly. But be forewarned it is a party atmosphere. Lot's of music and cocktails, and lots of circling around in golf carts. But again, I can't say enough about how friendly people were. - McNamara's Band
Jul 2009 - $54.00
The sites are not level and there is no recreation during the week. There is a lake, but there is no recreation on it. I would not camp here again. - har-fl
Sep 2008 - $48.00
This campground has a lot of seasonal sites. We stayed in the Nashville area in the front close to the office on huge concrete site that was 30x60. Water, electric and sewer was good. Wi-Fi was strong for access but did not connect to the internet. We have a sprint Aircard and used it instead. This campground caters more to people that want to attend concerts such as Billy Ray Cyrus or Keith Anderson who performed the weekend before we arrived and Charlie Daniels was scheduled to perform the following weekend. If you stay on a weekday, can get in the Nashville sites and have Camp Club USA it isn't a bad place to stay. We would only stay here for a couple of days when passing through. If you stay here say Hi to the gentleman who lives there and loves dogs more than people. - TXBobcat
Jun 2016 - $60.00
Expensive for what you get, rude owners that just care about finding different ways to charge you for every little thing and sometimes double charge you when they "forget" you already paid. - Bert102
Oct 2015 - $35.00
Beautiful place to get away for $800/month. Local roads are "scenic", which means the 25mph speed limit is enforced by narrow, badly maintained roads. AT&T reception is two bars at best. No WiFi, cable costs extra, 10-15 channels with a good aerial, and plenty of hot water for $1 in the clean bath house. Air conditioning is superfluous except for a few nights in August-shady sites with cool breezes. Tight roads servicing the generous seasonal sites, easy assess to the "Field" for big rigs and weekenders. Management is friendly and helpful. - Ernest Station
Jul 2013 - $50.00
My family and I spent a week at this campground and had such a wonderful time. Camping has become a summer hobby of ours and we were delighted to find a place that finally met the criteria we were looking for. The grounds were clean, the lake was beautiful, and there was no loud night time noise to keep my two children awake- something that I have run into problems with during stays at other parks. The management was very helpful, and even delivered firewood to our campsite for us. My husband and I enjoyed a live band around a bonfire right by the lake - very relaxing, and my two children really liked the movie night offered as well as tie dye your shirt day. We brought along our dog, and even though there is a no pet walking policy, there was a private road adjacent to the park where we were able to walk him every morning. If you are looking for an enjoyable real camping experience, this is the place to be. - cnms248

My family and I stayed here for the first time and the last time over the past Memorial Day weekend. The management was not helpful at all. When we had a problem getting our trailer level upon arrival, we were told someone would be by to help, and not one worker showed up. We were also placed so close to a fellow camper that we felt we had no privacy at all; all of the RV's are packed in too close quarters. The roads are made of dirt, and trash is not picked up. We were also kept up at night because of rowdy night time noise; people playing music too loud and others being too loud outside their RV. Not one grounds keeper came over to ask people to quiet down. I have been camping for many years, and this is one campground I will never go back to. - cnms248
Nov 2012 - $50.00
Kings is the perfect family camping experience because they are welcoming, helpful, and share years of their knowledge. They are clean, safe, and have a variety of activities for all ages all summer long. - Tracy2013
Sep 2010 - $50.00
We came here for Labor Day. It is mostly seasonal, and a small campground. When I saw how small and how many seasonals, about 99%, I thought we were in trouble. But I was wrong. The people were all very nice and helpful. The way the sites are set up you can be awning to awning with your friends. We had 3 trailers together and we were in a circle all together awning to awning. We loved it. They don't bother you about anything. They don't make you put your fire out at 11pm. They have a lot of activities going on. Talent contest, DJ, bingo, kids might be bored but the adults had plenty to do. The campsites and campground was very clean and the seasonal sites were kept up very nice. Beautiful lake. Paddle boat, and canoe rentals. The only thing is they offer WiFi but we couldn't get it, all the codes were taken up. They said the office where they get the codes from closed early because of the hurricane. We did get a lot of rain on Friday and winds on Saturday and Sunday. Overall we liked it so much that we booked it for next year. I only gave it a 6 because it was a small campground and no pool. The store is very limited too. We went to another campground down the road and used their store. Kings campground store didn't have propane cylinders, or holding tank chemicals? What camp store doesn't carry that stuff? We went to the Woodstock fair and other friends found hiking trails near by. - meister
