Customer service was snippy, unfriendly. Water pressure non- existent. Can't shower in own unit, showers are a fee. No gray water drain. Cable and pool down for the weekend, no discount. Charge for adult children. Only one vehicle allowed on site. We camped at Wawaloam Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground was also highly rated and reported to have many amenities. Well this campground would also qualify as a very family friendly place, as long as your rig is not too big. Many of this campground sites are long term/seasonal campers. We made a reservation for this campground back in January when planning the trip. We specifically provided our RV size and that we requested FHU and a "lightly treed" site. They assured her that it was no problem, and we made the reservation for a week stay. Upon arrival that wasn't exactly what we found. The sites we were given was up at the end of a long narrow road in a cave of trees. When I got backed in we quickly figured out that the site was too small for the motor home to fit on the pad. The site had a cement RV pad that was on a site that was uphill from the road. Only the pad itself was semi level, and the dirt at either end dropped off quickly. No matter where I put the RV, one set of jacks was not on the pad, and into the very off camber dirt. We went back to the office to discuss the issue with the staff (which were very friendly by the way). They looked at their campground map and declared that the site was "too small" for our size rig. With few options available, we took another site, W&E only. I dodged some tree limbs to pull in, and found it too was pretty off camber in both directions. I was able to block the jacks to get us level, but we still were not overly pleased with the site. This one backed up to a large green moss covered water hole, and was next to the play area and campground store which made our site the "pass through" for all the campground traffic to go through. We quickly decided to cut the stay down to 3 days. The site fee included a $3 a day pet fee, which I think is excessive. The restrooms were clean, but old and not handicapped accessible. WiFi was offered for checking email only. The cell signal here was also very weak, so the Verizon air card struggled as well. We camped at Wawaloam Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We recently stayed at Wawaloam, we had never been there before so we didn't know what to expect, just what we had researched on the internet. The site was nice, it was open and spacious. All the sites are back-in only, this can be a difficult because of the trees and rocks, but we made it in without any problems. Our neighbors were friendly. We have (2) children so we were excited about the water slide. The pool was nice and clean, large enough to accommodate a decent amount of people. The water slides were only open for 4 hours on Saturday the weekend we were there but we didn't mind. Our kids had a blast. We didn't really see any staff around and the staff we did interact with were pleasant. The one issue I did have was that the seasonals seem to have run of the park. I understand they pay a decent amount to be there but some were not as welcoming as others. It was like the high school cafeteria at the pool and you're the new kid. One gentleman, and I use that term loosely, even yelled at my son, which I felt was inappropriate. There were a lot of adult activities planned but not many for children. I am by no means a prude but the adult activities at one point concerned me. 2 golf carts full of what appeared to be well intoxicated adults racing around the campground loudly singing while little children attempted to ride bikes was a bit much. Overall we had a good time. We left and went to the beach on Sunday which is about 30 minutes away. The area in which the campground is located is very rural and the roads are slightly narrow. We camped at Wawaloam Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This park is catering to their seasonal for sure. The campground area has very few 50 amp and sewer sites. On the plus side, the sites are large. The CG being an older one, has serious problems with the electric voltages on both the 30 and 50 amp sites. This can blow out your AC without you being aware of why it happened. They fussed at us for unhooking our car near the entrance, yet no one had instructed us otherwise. Also they recycle but don't tell you this, or where their laundry is or what the trash small trash cans around the park are for. The store and the laundry and one of the only two dumpsters are all located outside the park. The staff was just so-so, a take it or leave it, attitude. There is an extra charge for pets as well as AC. They don't seem to have much in the way of activities either. Roads are paved and easy to traverse. We camped at Wawaloam Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Overall this is a 'rustic' campground. I rate it a "5" in that the amenities are definitely dated, and in some circumstances, in need of repair. But I would re-visit as the kids were immune to the shortcomings that an adult would take notice of. We were able to navigate our 37' Class A well enough along the dirt roads, and getting into the site we were assigned was easy enough; but we were not informed that our site sat on the back edge of private property on which a very feisty rooster resided. Obviously 4:30 am comes early. I think he got drunk and got lost in the park on the second night because he hooted and hollered continuously from 4:30 to 7. Dinner was good that evening: a little gamey tasting if you know what I mean. The pool area left a bit to be desired as the pool house is a bit dilapidated. Bathrooms were old and suffered from it. The playground for the kids was a newer jungle-gym type but offered no reprieve from the sun. They do have a waterslide albeit not humongous, but it was fun. Fees ranged from $12 per day to $20 which is a bit on the high side; or you could purchase 5 rides for $5. Which do you think the kids wanted??? So three times $12 to $20 adds up. They have Mini-golf: nothing spectacular but the kids liked it, and at $3 a head a good bargain. Their store is incredibly well stocked with many necessities and impulse items all priced at what you would expect for a camp store. They apparently make their own ice cream which was delicious. This is a larger park with friendly campers. It had all shaded sites that were very large and spacious. Large rigs up to 37 are good, with larger rigs probably squeezed by the tighter corners within the park. Again, a "5" because I feel there is a tremendous amount of potential that the owners are overlooking. Kids liked it, so we'll probably go again. Now I just hope that rooster doesn't have a brother. We camped at Wawaloam Campground in a Motorhome.
