Aug 2017 - $40.00
August 28, Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park, Kyle, Saskatchewan, Canada - $40 which includes a $10 daily fee, 525 sites located in five campgrounds - Bearpaw, Sagebrush, Nighthawk and Riverside. Site -R36 with electric, showers in the park, playground, bathhouses, beach volleyball court and swimming in Lake Diefenbaker. This campground is located on route 4 north of Swift Current but do not follow your GPS. Ours tried to take us on four dirt roads but we turned around after a mile and continued on route 4. Once you go over the bridge that crosses Lake Diefenbaker the entrance is on the right. There is a golf course and a couple of private campgrounds there plus a boat dock. Continue down the road and you pass all the campgrounds in the Provincial Park. The entrance station is at the beginning of the road near the golf course. We were in the Riverside Campground which is at the end of the paved road then you turn right on a dirt road and the sites are next to each other. Our site R36 was well shaded, electric with a fire pit and picnic table. It was located right on the lake and you could walk three steps from our site to swim or fish in the most popular fishing lake in Saskatchewan. There was a playground, bathhouse but no showers in this section but showers are found in some of the other campgrounds in the park which are close by. This park sits looking out over steep hills, the lake and the prairie. It used to be a steamboat landing and ferry crossing on the historic Battleford Trail. This was a one night stopover for us and we did enjoy it even though the temperature was in the mid 90's. - gsnakehill

It is a beautiful park. You drive the prairie fields and then out of no where: valleys and hills. Extremely dry here, not sure if this is the norm. Fire hazards listed extreme but no bans thus far. My only complaint was upon entering and the lack of information provided regarding what direction to enter your site from, and no guidance on the best option for filling fresh water tanks. There are no directional signs indicating direction. We entered incorrectly and couldn't turn around. Approached the site in the wrong direction. Blocked single lane roadways to fill water tanks. All this could have been avoided with proper information upon entering and registering. Sadly our site was extremely difficult to maneuver the 5th wheel. After several attempts and 5 folks to help we ended up backing into the site.
Our rig also received scraps and minor damage from overhanging tree branches. These pull through are in a U-Shape with trees, trunks and bushes to the roadside which is an added obstacle to park around. There are pull through that are more along side the road and free of obstacles. The back ins are actually better options for the larger trailers.
So far 2 electrical power outages and several hours without power. Park got overloaded with too many A/C's working at the same time. Once the power was up, we were advised not to run A/C for the remainder of the weekend. That was an uncomfortable night of sleeping. Never got advised as to when we could resume full usage, no signage was posted as to the status of the situation, so the communication was very poor.
Love the amenities here. The water is calm, great for boaters, etc. Beach and sand very nice. Firepits are very good for cooking and simple enjoyment. Lots of space for play. Great playgrounds for the little ones. Very few showers for the size of the park, however with good timing you can have your shower at your leisure. Tons of flush toilets located at every corner, no worries there. - Tanys Sweets

Sagebrush. Great lake campground. Spacious sites that are well treed. We were told we were in a full hookup site, (no water or sewer hookup??) There is potable water available, most ran hoses to fill their tanks. Swimming, boating, fishing, water sports, boat rentals, playground and lots more available. We had 30 amp service and there is a sani-dump. Very nice place to stay! - travelbugged
