As others have mentioned, checking in is rather chaotic, and the assignment of spaces appears to be random at best. We were told that the park would be full and there would be no open spaces for the weekend, but this clearly was not true as multiple spaces remained open throughout our stay, including beachfront. That being said, the location is excellent, the utilities worked flawlessly, and we had an amazing trip. We weren't able to use the WiFi due to our rigs distance from the antenna, but this was ok because we were on vacation and our site was distant but also very quiet! We would happily stay here again. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

I gave it a 10 because it is literally a million dollar view from the ocean front sites. We were lucky enough to get one of those sites. All sites are FHU some with 30amp some with 50amp. Verizon uses Telcel for roaming. The data service fluctuated from very robust to poor. However we were always able to use our cell phones for calls and texts. Directv service with out Winegard Trav'ler dish worked the same as in the states except no locals. Sites on the beach were long and wide enough for big rigs. Overall we were very pleased with the park and will definitely return many more times. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Taxis are readily available to old town shopping. Only a $6 cab ride. They have some activities at the park for the adults and the beach is great.

We've stayed here on & off for years, when the park was empty, full or nearly full, and thru spring break. We pay by the month & price reflects that. Very convenient to the neighboring hotel, where we USUALLY have fine Mexican food. Several miles of very good beach. The showers have been improved a lot! The toilets are ok, and the laundry is 'interesting'. It's Mexico. But the place is more and more over-run with 'Motos' (ATV's) despite TWO signs as you enter declaring ' No Motos'. Some riders are slow and respectful in the park, but plenty are loud and create a constant dust storm, especially on the entry road along the back wall...all the way to the back of the park. Try to get a site up nearer the office, or close to the seawall especially during busy times. The management insists that you can reserve A site, but not a particular site. We don't believe this is true, but haven't figured out how to reserve a premium (away from the back entry road) site. Many sites sit empty even when it's busy, but are still somehow not available for days at a time until some gringo rolls in that understands the 'system'. Somehow the people in the office seem to be getting more and more surly as time passes. Not very welcoming. That said, the internet while sketchy thru much of the park is fine in the Read Room, the 'campers' are fun and mostly energetic, and the work done by service folk (contractors) in the park is usually very good. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here several times in the last few years. It's time to update my last review. WiFi is still "iffy", depending on the location of your site. This particular visit, we had no trouble at all with the WiFi. We did, however, have a problem with electricity. The electricity was too strong and it caused us to lose power on a couple of occasions. The site we had was adequate, but we did change from our original site because the first one was very tight. The staff was very obliging about us changing sites and were quick to let us have the site of our choice. The restaurant has undergone some changes, too. The margaritas are half the size they were when we first came here in 2015. They also have replaced the nice wood tables they had on the patio with cheaper plastic ones. That kind of diminishes the atmosphere of the place. The vendors who clean, wash, and wax campers still do a great job for a reasonable price. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Staff were friendly and park was clean with several garbage pick ups throughout the day. Spaces are a bit tight. Need to be prepared to hook up on the wrong side. Asked for a beachfront site as there seemed to be plenty vacant, but were told they were all "reserved". Beach was great. Approx 3 Km walk to the Malecon. Convienent bar/restaurant next door with 2 for 1 Happy Hour and awesome Margaritas! Unfortunately the wifi was terrible, and at times unusable. We would stay there again. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

About 300 spaces. Pretty close together. Need extension hose for sewer. WiFi weak except for inside building especially with more people. Juice good. Daily garbage service. Vendors with shrimp, fish, etc. come by each morning. Good, hot showers. Washing machines OK. Great beach but ocean front sites are usually full. Excellent restaurant for all meals with happy hour. Good security. Propane available from truck in park. Downtown is only five minutes away. Everyone is friendly with good advice for RV work, dentists, etc. Relaxed and probably the best RV park in Puerto Penasco. Not perfect but great for us. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

This was our first (hopefully not last) visit to Punta Peñasco. What a beautiful beach and lovely, peaceful, hospitable setting. The reservation system worked perfectly, and while spaces are tight - very tight - with aid we were able to park and relax/unwind for six days. We're told that, for a small fee, the park staff will skillfully place your rig in the assigned site.
Park WiFi left much to be desired, however it was totally acceptable within the "reading room." Staff was friendly and responsive. It was a good experience; we would return in a heartbeat! We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tight back in sites and not all the same size so we had a rig park within inches of our awning. Nice staff, gave good advice and helped us with the nearby hospital. Vendors were in the park but very respectful if you did not want to buy or have your rig washed.

Hot tub was nice and a good clubhouse. Cheap laundry! We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here in December and liked it so well, we came back. There are activities for campers (Bingo, exercise classes, etc.) and all are invited to participate. Sites are adequate and are full service. WiFi is better on some sites than others, but if you avoid peak times, you should be okay. The people at the park are very friendly and help whenever they can arranging for outside vendors to clean, paint, etc. Some of the vendors are more reliable than others, so we recommend checking with other campers who had work done to get recommendations before you sign up. We plan to go back to Rocky Point this fall and will stay at Playa Bonita once again. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Shrimp season ends in March, so if you want to buy fresh shrimp, go before that. The fresh shrimp is awesome and very reasonably priced.

Nice RV park in a good location. We checked all the other parks and happy we went with Playa Bonita. Park is clean with daily garbage pickup. 30 amp voltage was right on. Wi-Fi is fair to poor depending on the number of RVs in the park. Excellent HOT showers and laundromat. Vendors come by in the morning with fresh shrimp, tamales, etc. for sale. Excellent restaurant one minute walk from the park with well decorated interior/bar and large outdoor patio overlooking the water. $2 margaritas or $6 pitchers during happy hour. Security is good with nothing ever reported missing by long time residents. Office can arrange ANYTHING including insurance, painting, interior work, washing/waxing. Great dentists in town with state of the art equipment and painless excellent work. Will be back next year. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

We will only stay at this park and have been at least 30 times over 16 years. If you want to back into or drive into a beach view space, call ahead and reserve it by sending in $75. It is a safe trip there and good security in the park. There are dogs loose at times and strays. Weekends are noisy and fun. The restaurant at adjacent hotel is quite nice as you can walk there. Holidays are quite busy, but you can always get a spot!! We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

We have come here four times and absolutely love it. If you come in January, there are not many people here, and you can get a beach site. You're in the RV park, with your front or back window looking right out to the Sea of Cortez. The park is located next to a hotel with a wonderful daily happy hour on their patio. Lots of good restaurants in the area, and we've never once felt unsafe. However, if you go to Rocky Point, this is definitely the park to come to! We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here with our RV Club of 12 rigs. This is the 2nd time we've been in Rocky Point, but the first at this park. I rate this a Mexican grade of "8". In the US it would be a "5". The park is maintain better than most. The trash is picked up daily and the security is good. The beachfront sites can be a little hard to enter and exit if the park is full. It is near downtown Puerto Penasco and the nearby restaurant of the same name as the RV park serves good Mexican food. Puerto Penasco continues to be an island of calm in the Mexican drug lord crime spree. We plan to take our grand kids in April of 2011and stay at this park. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is based on monthly rate for a 30 amp, FHU, beach view site. Beach front sites are slightly higher. It's a large park on the Sea of Cortez, less than 10 minutes from the Old Town area. Excellent security and unapproved vendors must stay on the seaward side of the seawall. Sites are small but adequate with the park being a large gravel area with parking bumpers delineating the sites. We have stayed here three times in the last four years and will continue to do so in the future. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.

We went to Mexico even after hearing all types of bad reports of danger. We are very happy we made this trip as we found the locals here were very friendly and happy for us being there spending money. As I am doing this review 4 months later the wife is cooking shrimp from Mexico. Some of the sites on the Sea of Cortez are very tight getting in and out for big rigs. We camped at Playa Bonita Resort in a Motorhome.
