5 Parks near Blacksburg, South Carolina
May 2016 - $19.00
Friendly staff. Owner onsite. Small campground with some long-time residents/snow birds. Gravel sites with water/sewer/electricity. If they have cable, we didn't see it. Great antenna reception. Need fire ring if you are staying for any period of time. We spent one night and would stay again. - WandaJim
Jan 2016 - $18.00
We stayed one night while we were in the area to get some repairs done on our motorhome. Owner was very friendly and helpful. He didn't have any pull-thrus but the back-in he gave us was fairly level and easy in and out. Park is neat and clean. No showers, restrooms or laundry. They're putting in extra pull-thrus on one side of the park. Rate is Passport America. I'd stay here again. - Flippitti
Jan 2016 - $18.00
Convenient to Interstate (3 minutes). Very pleasant with well laid out spacious sites, many with trees. Stayed overnight but would consider longer term stay in the future. - mobeale
Jun 2016 - $21.00
The access into the park is through a 1/2 mile 1-1/2 car wide road. Large RVs might find the interior roads difficult. Need to watch the trees. Very close to the Kings Mountain Battlefield. - A hitch and hop
Oct 2014 - $22.00
Have stayed here many times over the years, but only in the spring and fall. Campground is heavily wooded, but hot and muggy in the summer. Some sites need several boards to level. We camped during the annual Halloween activities weekend. Campground was full, as sites were reserved many months ahead, and most were decorated for the occasion. Some new gravel rock dust had been put down, and only added to the dusty conditions. We checked out after 1pm and was no waiting at either of the two dump stations on the road out. Will camp here again. - bud121156
Sep 2014 - $22.00
Be aware that some sites are very difficult to get into even though very spacious. Be sure to have a lot of leveling equipment, also. The shower house in loop 2 did not have a second curtain for privacy when showering. We found another house that did have both the shower and privacy curtains. My husband's shower knob came off so he fixed it. Good hot water. Most sites are beautiful. This was a very quiet campground although it was 50% full. We enjoyed the neighboring park's museum about Kings Mountain Battlefield and hiking trails in both the state and national parks. We would camp here again. - Pat and Rex
Dec 2015 - $25.00
We went there to check it all out before even camping there. Upon arrival, we noticed RR tracks right across the street. Campsites were very close to each other and very narrow. Older campers were just sitting there. Not sure if they just put them there making it look like people were camping. No one was around. You have to pay for the Zip Line. Rip off if you ask me. Bathrooms at the time were clean, but then I read more reviews on how filthy they are now. Owner was kind of wishy washy/weird. Definitely would not camp here. - Prowler on the loose
Aug 2015 - $25.00
This place is without a doubt the worst campground I have ever stayed in in 14 years of full timing. I called a week ahead of time for a reservation. The gentleman took all my information, quoted a price of $25 for full hookups. We drove 350 miles that day and entered the place under a severe T-storm warning. The lady at the desk could not find my reservation. She said go unhook, find a spot and come back and we'll fill out the paperwork, no problem, been there before. I got the very last spot in the park. The interior roads are gravel and filled with potholes. They say they are big rig friendly... NOT, really tight. The sewer was at the very back and uphill, HUH, decent water pressure, decent 50 amp.We will NOT return and would advise to stay away from here. - walt66
Aug 2015 - $25.00
Great campground for budget conscious Travelers. I have no problem staying here but there is a down side. It sits close to a set of railway tracks and the noise of the trains could bother a light sleeper. - Craig73
Jun 2016 - $41.00
The only thing this park has to offer is the proximity to the Freightliner facilities. We stayed here while attending Camp Freightliner. We had booked a pull-through site but on check-in they tried to tell us that they use the pull-through sites as 2 back-in spots on the weekends. The campground was having trouble with electricity that day and the power was off for several hours. We could not open one of our slides because of trees. The campground was crowded with old, poorly maintained trailers and lots of junk. Not worth the price. We dry camped in the Freightliner facility our last night and were happier there! - Bunci
May 2016 - $13.00
Have to give them credit for finding us a space when most every park in a 30 mile radius was full.
Now, site sloped a good 10 inches or more front to back. Walk upright under overhang and 4 inches clearance on back. Upper tier sites all drained down through this site when it rained.
Staff pleasant but couldn't help situation.
Had to beat leveling blocks out of the ground upon hooking up because they sank.
Dog park okay but people, PLEASE pick up after your pets
Last night there paid to be moved to overnight spot because we couldn't hook the rig to the truck for early departure. Besides being very unlevel we would have blocked the entire loop road. Monthly sites need some serious work.
Parked tow vehicle in grass beside trailer.
If you are monthly check site before you do your paperwork. We took what was available at the time.
Staff nice but can't do much for you. I don't think they have looked at the sites and were working from a map.
Red mud and take fire ants. You will have lots of both.
Coworkers parked on the "flat shaded side" seemed to have none of the problems we had. - 2dogsandacatfulltime
May 2016 - $37.00
Very nice campgrounds. Very shady and lots of space between the sites. We had a Deluxe Pull-Through and it had a paver patio, gas grill, and swing. Verizon service was good, cable was okay and wifi was an okay signal. - jomark
Jul 2016 - $33.00
Staff very friendly and helpful. WiFi only available at office and close proximity. No cell service. Sewer only available at select sites. Gravel roads need work. Permanent campers need to clean up around their sites. - Rickman
Apr 2016 - $17.00
The proprietors are super nice and extremely helpful. We were given a pull-thru, which was great, but up by the office there is clutter and things aren't as tidy as they should be - overturned trash cans, boxes, etc. I think camping in the back would be better for scenery, as it is a scenic place, but those are back-ins. For one night, the pull thru was great, but if you want to spend a few days, go towards the back. Also, they have their own unbundled firewood and they are very generous with it. That one fact made up for everything else. There is a nice pool, too. It was easy to get to, with excellent roads. - Autigerinnc70
Mar 2016 - $17.00
We stayed for 4 days, and the staff was very friendly. They gave us a great site. It's a good location, and nice & quiet. Some of the sites didn't look like they were open yet, but it was early in the season. There were a number of seasonal renters. Some of their campsites were neat and clean. Others not so much. We would definitely stay here again! - Bruce R
