An awesome RV park with mature trees. Be sure to enter the back gate you the airport if you're driving a big rig. Also, the signs for the RV park are not well-posted and as it is off the road a bit, this can be confusing. Our site was a back in which was easy even with my big class A. Easy access to beautiful downtown Charleston (about 15 minutes) and surrounding area. The RV park is located near a big playground and open field which was great for my ten year old and my big dog liked playing fetch in the field. This is a little tight to maneuver a big rig though but totally doable if done slow and easy. Hookups were well-appointed and water pressure was in the 50s. It rained a ton while we were there but site remained dry. Great little RV park that we will stay at again. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be careful at which gate you enter as getting around the base with a big rv may be tricky. Go to dodlodging website and read their instructions for entry. It will save you some headaches.

We booked a site here for about a week. We needed to extend and sites were very limited as two big week-end events were happening over the days we needed to extend. (The AFB Open House and the Citadel graduation). Luckily, the camp host while we were there, is a wonderful, caring and very competent host. She always found a space for us to stay somewhere in the campground. The campground is one of the best we have stayed at. Most sites are paved with full hook-ups. I would definitely return to this park anytime I am in the Charleston area. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Best Air Force Famcamp we have seen! Should be the example for the rest of the Air Force campgrounds! Clean, level, concrete pads, problem free utilities. Reservations allowed, full time camping NOT allowed. Even base assigned personnel are not allowed to camp unless on leave. Only negative comment would be noise from the small arms range, but even that was only occasional. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It's right outside Charleston lots and lots to do. Only a few miles away is the "North Charleston Fire Museum", well worth a visit. A really fine collection of restored fire apparatus and many educational displays.

Well maintained, clean campground with level sites. Excellent camp hosts. Easy in and out, and well priced. We love military famcamps. Would definitely return. No problem for our 42.5' 5th, and no problem getting in with no reservations. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here often. Always clean restrooms, sites and landscaping. Wonderful hosts. No reservations taken but overflow pads provided. Recommend they provide a small pet area. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

This is a very well maintained park however the noise factor is terrible due to aircraft traffic, the nearby gun range, trains and the base PA system. These go on all day and most of the night. Make sure to have waterproof boots to wear for days after heavy rains. Add to these things the highest nightly fee we have paid at any military campground and it is unlikely that we will stay here again. The good is that the hosts are great and the Charleston historic district is nearby. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

It is neat as a pin. The campground is laid to out perfect specifications. Each campsite is exactly the same and it is spotless clean. Sites all have the same amount of room (which is plenty). The WiFi (we were site #22) is excellent and so is the Verizon cell service. There is no cable.

The campground host is wonderful and always around. You can pay $10 and wash your camper and/or truck on site. At 0700 they play Reville over the loud speaker system, at 1650 they play the National Anthem, and at 2200 they play Taps. The only bad thing about this park is the noise. It is right next to the AFB flight line so the planes are loud. It is also right next to the firing range where the troops go and shoot their weapons all at the same time for like 3 minutes, stop, do it again and so on for an hour or so. Somewhere nearby are train tracks. So it is non-stop noise from about 0700 to about 2200. We don't hear anything during the wee hours.

We would stay there again. The noise is all before our bedtime so, although annoying, it wasn't too bad. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here four years in a row. It is a very good campground with excellent camp hosts who take very good care of the grounds and their customers. This year, the mosquitos are horrible even though they have sprayed. Also, contrary to the listing above, there is no wifi. The aircraft noise and noise from the gunnery range are downers as well. Even with all that, we will be back. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

We have been here three years in a row and stayed at least a month each time. Campground is clean and spacious. Camp hosts could not be better. The only downside other than aircraft noise, which we get used to, is that the wifi does not work at all in the campground. We will have been here a month this trip and the only way we can get online is to go to the MWR office with the laptop or tablet. Tv is over the air and leaves much to be desired but Charleston has so much to do and eat, we don't miss tv. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Charleston has great places to eat, beaches, shopping, sight seeing, etc. Other than its very conservative political climate, it is a great place to visit.

This is our second stay at this park and we will be back. Everything works and the camp hosts are friendly and helpful. Since it is located very near the runway used by both commercial airlines and military aircraft, there is noise. Otherwise it would be a solid 10. Pretty good... some sites are better than others. We had Electric and Water at $23/night, which is a bit high when compared to other military campgrounds. But if you want to stay in the Charleston area for just a few day this is probably a good deal. Well situated. Would stay again. We camped at Low Country FamCamp (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.
