We stayed here for a monthly rate of $750 (we did receive notice that the price will increase to $925 in January because of upgrades they are doing). The place was pretty huge, and most spots could handle any sized rig. Staff was friendly. Overall the place was good; we'd stay here again if we were in the Charleston area. Having said that, there were some negatives. It's about a 1/4 from the front to the back - you have to navigate over 11 sets of speed bumps/humps, it's borderline ridiculous. Because we were 'monthly', we had to submit a picture of our rig and tow vehicle before they would accept our reservation. They also did a 'meet and greet' after we set up to make sure we had everything in order, hose under rig, sewer hose off ground, etc. None of those things were deal breakers, but kinda odd. water pressure came in at 38PSI, the office said normal is 40, which wasn't enough to fill our toilet bowl, so we had to fill the tank and use the water pump. And as someone else said, 4 washers, and 2 dryers isn't near enough for the amount of sites (although they work very well). We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The shopping center just past the campground has pretty much everything you need.. Publix, frozen yogurt, pizza, hibachi, a pub style restaurant, nail salon, UPS store, bank and a vet (who was wonderful with our two dogs, definitely recommend them). Don't waste time trying to turn left out of the campground if there is any traffic. Just turn right and then right on to Bees Ferry, right on Jerry McConnell to get you back to the interstate. Much safer, less frustration.

Very large campground, 221 sites on approximately 45 acres.. We were in 007 which was a pull-thru, 50 amps, gravel streets and sites with grass dividing the sites. We also had a picnic table. Some of the down sides of this park is it's over run with squirrels. They have a fishing area but beware of the alligators in the pond. The laundry was very disappointing, 4 regular size washers & 2 big dryers. Not enough for 221 sites. The park has very large oak trees with Spanish moss. Last, the park has speed bumps, lots of speed bumps. Some could take out an axel. We would probably come back if in the area. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice RV park in Charleston, SC. Many pull-thru sites, both grass and gravel. Level. Full hook-ups. 50 amp. Picnic table on gravel patio. (Our site was gravel with grass between us and our neighbor.). Quiet (but is near streets, so need to request something away from street). Some trees; some open sites. Trees are well trimmed. Central internal road is wide but has some bad speed bumps. Roads off the center are one way single-lane but OK for big rigs. Lots of big rigs in park. Wifi was sometimes good; sometimes not. Pool. Definitely will stay here again. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots to do in Charleston and area! Historical downtown roads (and parking) weren't designed for big trucks. A bit scary for driving anything large. Next time we'll park close to downtown and Uber around town for sightseeing.

This park is in a convenient location to visit Charleston and nearby attractions. It is clean, well managed, well designed, and easy to navigate. There are quite a few giant oaks and nice shade trees. Shaded and sunny sites are available. Full and partial hook-ups are also available. There are some speed bumps, but the roads are paved. The entrance is wide open with plenty of room to park while checking in. There is a swimming pool, laundry and restroom facilities with showers. The population is dense and traffic is heavy out on the main road, but the park remains quiet as there are no sites on the main road. The office/store carries a few staples, a lending library and brochures on local attractions. Propane is available for purchase. Fire rings and firewood come with a rental cost. There is a cell phone tower within sight, so our service was the best we've ever had: both phone and our WIFI. We stayed in an electric/water site in a 31' rig with a Checy Sonic toad. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Large, very nice campground on the outskirts of Charleston. Sites are mostly gravel, with some paved sites and some grass sites scattered throughout. Most of the sites in the interior of the park are pull through. While we weren't able to leave our tow vehicle in front of the RV when unhitched, there is plenty of space between sites for parking. Large oak trees are plentiful providing lots of shade. Although we didn't hook up cable, we had good Wi-Fi for the 2 days we were there. Traffic on Savannah Hwy is every bit as bad as previous reviews have claimed, so plan your day trips to avoid heavy traffic. We will definitely return to this campground if we visit Charleston again. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We have a 45' and tow. This park has a large number of pull through sites that can accommodate big rigs. Most sites are level, gravel, with wide areas of grass between sites. The area close to the entrance does not have trees so if you want to use your satellite, this area would be best. If you prefer shade, there are many sites farther back in the campground that are shaded. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

The park itself is nestled into a very busy suburban area "West of the Ashley" and is right off Savannah Hwy. You will want to be paying close attention as you approach the park upon arrival or you will miss it ... and doubling back will make you sad as traffic on Savannah Hwy is horrible. That said, for a park in such a congested area, we heard no street noise at all. Granted, we had a site in the far back of the campground, but the surrounding foliage and buildings seem to do a great job of mitigating any of the road noise. The grounds were well maintained with well-mown grass no garbage to be seen. Trash bins (and recycling!) were plentiful and easily accessed from the main street in and out of the campground - no huge, overstuffed, smelly dumpster to deal with. Our site was rather short (we're in a 35' class A) but did give us room to park our Jeep at our site. The site itself was somewhat narrow and was half concrete pad, half grass. The pad was level and large enough for our RV. Other sites were all grass which, given the soggy conditions, made us thankful for the solid footing our pad provided. Charleston in the late summer is a hot, humid and rainy place to be, generally speaking. Our Verizon data/voice service worked like a champ with excellent data rates throughout our stay. Free wireless is provided and, while I only used it to test its throughput, seemed to perform better than many other campgrounds we've visited. Satellite service was not a problem for us, but other sites were rather shady so your mileage may vary. Cable TV is available but we did not partake of that. There are multiple areas for activities here including a pool. As it was in the mid 90's during our stay, we avoided the outdoor areas. The pool is at the front of the park and is relatively close to the highway, which detracted from its appeal for us ... I'm sure the kids wouldn't mind. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

To exit the park and return to I-526, turn right out of the park, take a right at the light (near the Publix shopping center), take a right on Bees Ferry Rd, a right on Glenn McConnell Pkwy then a left onto I-526. Attempting to turn left on to Savannah Hwy in a RV at any time of day is a fools errand at best and will only result in stress and road rage.

We had a large 50 amp pull thru site on row G with lots of room for our 40 ft Motorhome and tow vehicle and plenty of space between sites. The park is on Johns Island and convenient to many sites around Charleston. It is very well maintained, clean and safe. Wifi worked early in the morning but was extremely slow during peak times. (We often find this an issue now with many likely trying to stream video). Cable worked well. Now for the bad... Huge speed bumps every few feet made navigation difficult and we bottomed out our tow vehicle a few times even when crawling over them slowly. Workers patrol the area to ensure the 10mph speed limit is not exceeded - as if you could go more then 10mph with all those bumps. One day we had an older guy in a golf cart (he may have been the owner) pull in beside us as we parked and accuse us of speeding when there was no way we were. He got angry and even said he saw us zoom up behind a car in front of us when there was no other car in site. It was a very strange situation and made us so uncomfortable that we will not return to this campground in the future. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed at this campground many times because it is convenient to Charleston, very beautiful and well maintained. The campground is well spaced out in almost a park like setting with tall trees, lots of grass and open spaces. Roads are paved and sites are level gravel pads with grass between sites. Sites are spacious. Most sites can not access satellite due to the trees but cable is decent. The pool is by the office and a long way from most sites. There is some road noise outside but not noticeable in our coach. They have an insane number of high speed bumps on the main road - about 20 to the back of the campground. It is very hazardous to access/exit the park off Hwy 17 if you are entering from the south or exiting to the north during most hours of the day. I asked for a site that could get satellite access when I made my reservation but assigned site could not get access. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

I have been RV'ing all over this country for the past 12 years, and this is one of the by best kept parks I've visited. No trash, no untrimmed lawn areas. It's actually pretty. All the amenities: 30 & 50 amp electric, good tasting water, sewer, cableTV, seven (7) STRONG WiFi channels, pool, laundry and shower facilities. Sites are large with shade on many. They are gravel, but level and flat with nice picnic tables at each site. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Mostly level grass sites, clean bathhouses, good shore power hookups with cable. Only drawback was the entry / exit ability. We were there from a Saturday to Monday and traffic was "heavy" getting into the park on Saturday and Monday was heavier. Would stay here again. This was our first time camping here and we will definitely be returning. Office staff was very friendly and helpful. This place has very well kept landscaping, plenty of places to walk, great pool and bathrooms were spotless. I think they have some homesteaders but I'm not sure because all the camp spots are well kept and it doesn't look like a trailer park.

This spot (H3) has a beautiful tree, but because of the size of our camper we were pretty close to the people on the right of us. The office was willing to let us move but we decided to stay. This will be the only place we stay when visiting Charleston. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park has many different site configurations and some are very nice and some are not. I had one of the not so nice sites. The park is old and the utilities are in the wrong place for a motorhome pull-through. My site was so off level that I could not level the coach. I guess back when this place was built water must of ran uphill, as my sewer connection was so uphill I had a hard time draining. And that sewer connection was 2 feet from my neighbor's picnic table and about 8 feet from his front door. I was there for two days and I never could connect to their WiFi. Way too many speed bumps. Others have noted the traffic and it is horrendous. I never saw a time when I could have turned left out of the park without blocking traffic. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.
