Park was hilly and not very accessible. Mostly a trailer park. Overnighters get put next to the road with no shade or grass. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Motorhome.

The check-in time of 2pm is very late - esp. since the check-out time is 11am. We arrived a little early to discover that they were closed, but had the site number and knew where it was from previous research. The pull-thru site is on the roadway directly adjacent to a major construction area (red dirt and huge sewer pipes), which was not very nice. However, the view from the passenger side (exit/entry) was fine, so we did not mind the spot. Unlike other reviews, we did not have a problem with the water. We do not use wi-fi or the restrooms, but the restrooms looked very nice. We felt the price was high for what was offered (and the site). We met the office lady when we went to pay the next morning and she was awesome (the lady waiting on the other customer seemed very nice as well). Both seemed well educated on area attractions and were eager to offer advise. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like bicycling, go into Charlotte and park at Elizabeth Park. Follow the Little Sugar Creek Greenway (it goes north for a little way, but much farther south) - it is the best urban bike trail we have ever biked on! It follows the creek and is well landscaped - just beautiful. Also, you can peddle the Trolley Bike Trail - start on the southside of Charlotte around South Blvd & Clanton - it follows the light rail line and is a lot of fun.

Relatively easy to reach from inter-state and close enough to Charlotte to make it attractive. "Big Rig" sites are facing sideways onto what at this time was under construction for what looked like apts. Noisy in the morning with big equipment. With South Carolina red clay and quite a bit of rain in the prior days, left a lot of mud with some effort to find a place where our levelers didn't sink. Rest was gravel. Was adequate space for in and out with dolly but tow-car detached. Very quiet, appeared mostly long-term users. Guide to site was helpful in parking. If you're going for a camping experience, this probably isn't the place for you. There was a community fire pit we saw with wood provided but ambience non-existent. If you are there to see Charlotte and aren't going to experience "woodsy" it's fine. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Charlotte is an amazing city. Great, unusual architecture, lots to do, not really bad traffic (even during March Madness), good public transportation, clean and any shopping you want. The campground was convenient to the City Center without too much trouble. If you're going to see the attractions and the city -- not for the camping experience -- this campground fits the bill: Reasonable for what you get given that caveat!

We have been in the campground for a month, and plan on staying one more month. The sites are not level. The next phase is currently under construction and will provide level, concrete pad sites. Huge dog park and plenty of walking paths and is well located to Carrowinds and malls, shopping, restaurants, etc. Monthly rates are very good. There is not a clubhouse or swimming pool. Laundry room is adequate with nice machines with very reasonable rates. Bathhouse is great! Overall, we are pleased and would stay here again. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

The office staff was very friendly. The office smelled new. I also spoke to the owner. We had a pull thru site because we were only staying one night and towing a jeep. The site was level with gravel. There are many permanent trailers here but they are kept very neat. They go around and inspect sites routinely. The cable tv and Wi-Fi worked fine. We had a full hook up site. We didn't hook up to the water because of previous reviews. When I spoke to the owner she said at times the water does get muddy because the new housing and utilities that are being built around them. The water is county water and the campground also has their own filter. The campground is very quiet. I didn't hear any air traffic. I would stay here again. Roads are in very poor shape. Cable TV and Internet is useless. You would be better off with a hot spot and using your antenna. The water is so bad most people only use it to shower. It's rust colored. We went through many expensive water filters. Management is absolutely horrible. You are not treated as a customer or with respect. The manager makes it seem like she is the one doing you a favor by letting you stay there. Even though you are a paying Customer. Rules change based on each customer. We do not recommend staying here. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is built on a hill so many of the sites are slanted and it takes great effort to level your trailer. Almost no grass. Many long term older trailers. Nice dog park. Would not stay here again. Very poor wi-fi and very basic cable. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

A lot of older run down campers with no upkeep on them. The roads have lots of deep pot holes. The spots are very close and lots have very steep drop-offs outside your doors. It says on their website you can stay as long as you want to but that's not the truth, we were told we couldn't stay. They double book spots. I will never stay here or tell anyone else that it's a good place. I'm also letting Good Sam's know what they do here... It's also very noise with the Charlotte Airport, planes fly right over you. People speed through here. Lots of noise on the near by road.. The only thing I liked about this is you are close to all kinds of stores.... Laundry is "NOT" cheap. Didn't use the restrooms. The water here is very bad and I would "NOT" recommend drinking it or giving it to your animals. It's really muddy looking when it comes out and you go through lots of water filters. The last thing I'd like to say is I see double standards in the park, they either like you or they don't... We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

I found this park better than some of the previous reviews. Their camp host was very accommodating and drove me through some sites before making my choice. My site (101) was a back-in but because of the layout, easy to enter and exit. Cable was very good, Wi-Fi was mostly good except at peak time. Most of the sites are occupied by residents but were well tended. I would stay here again. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Motorhome.

Large park with a lot of seasonal campers and some workers. Did not see a lot of people out and about the park but there were very few empty sites. Quiet and clean. They recommended NOT TO USE our GPS to find them, (they sent an confirmation email with directions included) We did hear a few planes but they were still high enough it was not bothersome and there is a train track within a mile of the park but we did not hear the train much. Tips for other Campers:

Follow their directions, not your GPS. (We went to refuel and on the way back ours brought us through a housing development.) We mightn't have made it had we had our Trailer. There is shopping and restaurants nearby/2-5 miles. Carowinds theme park is only a few miles away. We would stay again if in the area.

We stayed for 3 nights. This park is marginal at best. Full of permanent residents, who do not keep tidy sites. Dumpsters overflowing, trash was literally hanging out. Our site had a rusted out barbecue and a ramshackle picnic table that was totally unusable due to the angle of the slope. The laundry facilities were nice. It is in a nice, safe neighborhood, but I did not feel safe in the park after dark- very poorly lit. The grounds themselves need a lot of maintenance and improvements. I would not recommend staying here unless you are just looking for a cheap place to park. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Motorhome.

Stayed here several years ago and I can tell you that this park has really turned itself around. I hear its under new management. Office Staff very nice and quick check in. Nice large pull thru site. Clean Park. They are jam packed which tells you they are doing something right! Quiet place outside of busy Charlotte. Not a resort style campground, but nice and quiet. Enjoyed our stay. And have recommended it to our friends as well. You won't be disappointed. We camped at Crown Cove RV Park (formerly Crown International Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here three nights to attend the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, NC. This was a convenient location for visiting Charlotte. Sites were asphalt. As happens with many asphalt sites, the sites were sloping across the site. For us that meant having to level by putting downslope wheels on about 4 inches of wooden blocks. Almost all the campers around us had to do the same. This is a nice campground, but most sites were occupied by long-term occupants. Our site was a pull-through, but we had to back out of it. There was no way to pull forward out of the site and make the turn on the camp road in front. It was too tight with trees in the way. We would camp here again if in the Charlotte area.
