Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $20.00
We made reservations approximately three months in advance-- requesting two things: a level site with satellite usage available. Upon arrival we discovered that the site we had been assigned would not allow for satellite dish use, but even more of a concern was the fact that trees lined one side of the site-- allowing the rv to park but not allowing slide-out deployment without scraping in the trees. The office staff then re-assigned us to another site-- with even less chance of satellite use. Discussions with the park manager only elicited the comment: "How would I know about the trees and lack of satellite in those sites-- nobody ever complained before".
Fortunately, the camp host was exceptionally helpful and assigned us to another site that allowed us to use the satellite dish.
--Two days of light to medium rain flooded many of the sites and standing water was still in place when we departed. Several long-term residents discussed with us the unabated problem of mosquitos during warm weather.
-- Our site had five (5) fire ant hills (we treated them on our own). Several long-term residents discussed with us the continuous problem of fire ants-- a potential life threatening problem to anyone with allergy problems.
-- Virtually zero understanding or information from office staff. This is either a training problem or individual attitudes. With either it reflects a management or leadership (or both) problem. Several long-term residents indicated that that is certainly nothing new.
-- Bottom line: Standing water, insect problems and lack of interest in customer support make this a famcamp NOT worth the fuel to drive to. We will NOT return. We camped at Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military Camping Only) in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
TIP: Locate another campground in the Charleston area and stay there.

Stayed here 3 nights while touring Charleston.
Unisex showers & toilet in a trailer. Laundry also in the trailer. Each unit is small and in need of a cleaning. Trash not emptied, did not see any cleaning during our stay.
Grass in dire need of mowing.
Commissary, exchange, and service station on base.
Easy 30 minute drive into Charleston, a bit longer during rush hours.
MWR on base with discount tickets available. We camped at Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military Camping Only) in a Travel Trailer.
Tips for other Campers:
Take the drive into Charleston and head to Fort Sumter. Park at the Aquarium and just a short walk to the boat. Market Street has many shops selling local items.
Clean, level, good location with good sites. Close to Charleston. Good areas around neighborhood to walk my dog. Only downfall was laundry was not working but camp host directed us to another facility within a 1/2 mile. We camped at Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military Camping Only) in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $20.00
We stayed here while visiting Charleston. The location was close, but still a good 25 minute drive to downtown Charleston. The park itself was great. Doc was quick to greet us as we pulled in and offered assistance for anything we needed. The location was very quiet, had plenty of area to walk dogs and very clean. The site was long enough to fit our 35 ft 5th wheel and 2500 truck with ease. The site also had a paved space next to the rv site for extra vehicles, the picnic table and grill. Power, water and wifi were great, no cable, but we picked up all the channels we needed with our antenna. There are A LOT of fire anthills around the park, so watch where you walk your pets and spray around your site if you have issues. The weather was cool and rainy most of our stay, so we had no issues with ants around our site. The park is outside of the Naval Weapons Station gate, so no ID required to enter, but you will need to show it to Doc upon arrival. The laundry was small, only two washers and three dryers, but the NEX does have a laundry facility with $1.00 per wash and $.75 for 30 minutes dry time. It would have been nice to be a little closer to downtown, but all in all a great location. We would return. We camped at Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military Camping Only) in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice stay on the way to Savannah/Atlanta. Had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again when in the Charleston area. Not a bad drive into Charleston. We camped at Foster Creek RV Park & Villas (Military Camping Only) in a Motorhome.
