This has absolutely been one of my favorite SC State Parks to stay in. Our site was lakeside and had a beautiful view (campground #2, site 112). The park and site was very clean and easy to back in and set up. The outdoor "living" area was a little small, but big enough for a couple of chairs, the picnic table, and fire ring. The view, however, made up for any issue we had with the lack of space. The only issue we had was that there was a lot of dogs barking. The campground host also had barking dogs, so they didn't say much to anyone else who had dogs constantly barking. But again... the view was relaxing enough that it made up for anything else going on. We camped at Lake Greenwood State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Greenwood is about 25 minutes away. There's a very nice pizza restaurant (The Mill House) that connects to a small brewery (Good Times Brewing). A great place to go grab a bite to eat and watch a game. Extra hint... the hummus and pita chip platter is delicious.

Nice Park but confusing for check-in. Stayed overnight on a pull thru site. Site was paved and nice. We camped at Lake Greenwood State Park in a Motorhome.

As we have found with most all SC State Parks, Lake Greenwood is clean, well run, and is good value for the fees they charge. Most of the sites are right on the lake and provide easy access for power boats or pontoon boats to dock right at your campsite. There is quite a bit of boat traffic in the main channel, but we were located in a cove so saw/heard little of that. We took our kayak and found small, quiet coves with lots of wildlife. The water was clear and very warm (September). The sites and roads are all paved and in good shape. There were extra vehicles in many of the sites, since some people towed their camper and another vehicle towed a boat. There was a constant ranger presence, but they never seemed to hear the incessantly barking dogs. The bathrooms and showers appeared to be freshly painted and were very clean. Reception on Verizon data was 2-3 bars and OTA TV was 10 channels. There are hiking trails throughout the park and limited areas to ride bikes except on the park roads. On exit, there are 2 dump sites about 500 yards apart. Not far from the park is the Ninety Six Historic Site. We will be back for a return visit. We camped at Lake Greenwood State Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here in the past in a 35 foot 5th wheel. The sites are concrete and nice but not for a bigger unit. They are suitable for tagalongs, shorter 5th wheels and motorhomes no longer than 30-32 feet. This is a preferred park close to where we do business several times a year but this time when we pulled in to our carefully selected spot( only 3 possibilities for a 40 foot motorhome out of all the spots), our automatic levelers would not level even after 3 tries so even tho we had reserved and paid for the spot, we had no option but to leave. Spot 1, 3 which are backins in campground 2 would work but they were both reserved and there is one other on the opposite side of campground 2 (a pull thru right next to the lake) that was also reserved that would have worked. We had thought 124 since it was longer would work, but the site slopes at the back after about 34 feet and would not level. What a disappointment as this is a very nice park otherwise but just not set up for larger units. We camped at Lake Greenwood State Park in a Motorhome.

We spent 5 days here the week prior to the Fourth of July. Check-in is slightly confusing as the office has no sign. The campground is nice and fairly easy to navigate. The roads and sites are all paved. Almost all of the sites have a slight to moderate grade so leveling is required. Many of the sites are small and will not accommodate larger RV's. Many of the campers had additional vehicles, boats, jet skies, etc., which sometimes made the campground feel crowded. This was especially true as the weekend approached. There are multiple bathhouses. They are older, but they are clean. As an adult, I would leave the bicycles home unless your are an avid biker. We tried ours and everywhere you go is up hill both ways. Wi-Fi is available at the check-in office and they will provide the password for you. Staff is very friendly and helpful. No sewer connection, but there are two dump stations. AT&T service was great with 3G service. No cable, but about 7 broadcast channels are available. There is no store. The closest grocery store is in the town of Ninety Six. We did visit the Ninety Six National Park. If you are looking for something to do, I would recommend going. The cost is free. We would stay here again We camped at Lake Greenwood State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Was here last in November and the campground hosts are doing a better job in cleaning the baths than what the state staff did. Cobwebs and trash around the vents need to be cleaned, and the inside walls swept down and a good thorough cleaning of the baths; however, they are better than they have been, and Clorox is being used to disinfect the floors. There are no sewer connections, but people do a pretty good job of keeping sites clean. Few sites for longer rigs. Good views of the lake from any of the sites. There are 2 dump stations, and they do recycle aluminum, plastic, and newsprint. We stay here because there are few parks, and we have business here several times a year. We camped at Lake Greenwood State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a hidden gem! Price included the Reserve America reservation fee and taxes. We were in a lake front site which was beautiful. The sites and roads are paved. We had water and 50 amp, although some sites are 30 amp. There are dump stations. Due to the trees we were unable to access satellite, but with the views who cared! Good Verizon Wi-Fi and phone service. The lake is crystal clear! Gave this park an 8 due to no TV or sewer, but we will stay here happily again. We camped at Lake Greenwood State Park in a Motorhome.
