Overall Rating:

$100 a night is highly overpriced, but this is Hilton Head. Our particular site - 290 - was excellent. There are privacy shrubs on each side, nice landscaping including hanging plants, and nice patio furniture (which we did not use, but added to the ambiance of the site). Additionally, walking around the park, most of the sites are attractive and well landscaped. All of the people that we met were very nice. The staff was helpful in guiding us to the site. It is a top notch motor coach resort. It was kind of nice not having all of the loud trucks that pull 5th wheels for a change! While the resort is extremely wooded and private, once outside the resort, you are close to everything that you need. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The island is a great area for bike riding - really nice paths! If you plan to see the HH Island Lighthouse ($4.50 admission), which is in Harbourtown by the marina, plan on doing a bike ride through the Sea Pines Forest Preserve (and community). There is a $6 admission (per car) to get into Sea Pines, which you have to go through to get to Harbourtown (lots of shops there) and the lighthouse, but the bike riding in Sea Pines is awesome!

This was our first visit this year; we visited 4 times in 2017. Since we do not tow a car, biking is very important, and this facility is an excellent location for biking to restaurants, shops, markets and a beautiful beach. There are miles of bike trails all over the island that keep you off the major roads. Cable TV signal was strong, with good channel selection, Wi-Fi was weak and spotty, a complaint that we shared with others. There are only two men's room commodes in the clubhouse for the entire population, that's not enough. There is a general positive and friendly atmosphere with the staff and the people here. Each week there are bike tours and guided tours of the local areas that are fun and well coordinated. They are opening the snack bar at the lovely pool soon so you don't need to leave the pool area to find a nice lunch. The sites are well maintained and very clean. We will return soon. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the best motorhome parks we have stayed in (They only allow Class A's in here). This is a private ownership park, so just a fraction of the 401 sites are available for rent. The sites are all tucked into beautiful Spanish moss covered oak trees, good separation between sites, most are very well landscaped which adds to privacy between the sites. Excellent wifi, satellite will not work on most sites due to the tree canopy, but they have excellent HD cable TV with lots of channels including HBO. There are two RV parks in Hilton Head one is on a marina as you enter the island, and is really far from the town of Hilton Head, while this RV park is "downtown" and close to everything. Great bicycle paths right from the park, shopping, supermarkets, are within walking distance. Beach is a mile away. The staff is great and friendly and help guide you to your site and help you maneuver in. The only real issues is that it is expensive and we were told that the rates were going up again after we left. So if you come here be prepared for sticker shock. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring your bikes, Hilton Head is a very bike friendly town, with bike paths connecting the entire island. Savannah, GA and Beaufort, SC make great day trips, both about an hours drive from the campsite. If you like to golf this is a golf mecca. Also great jazz and other dinner/music venues on the island. If you want to enjoy any of these, make reservations way in advance as they are popular and fill up fast. If you can afford a lakefront site, get one, as there is no comparison to the others.

Very nice, lush resort with many amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of trees and most sites will not be able to get satellite, but free cable and wifi are available. We were able to get one satellite to lock on. There are some limbs which need to be trimmed. 4 Bars Verizon, 4 Bars AT&T and 4 Bars Sprint.

Pull over to the right after the office to unhook your tow car and wait for escort to take you to your site. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice park. Most sites are private owned but can be rented. Hookups were convenient and worked well. Were 45' so Interior roads are "manageable" just take it slow. Site we had was no frills with a table and chairs. Looked like they had been there a while. My one issue was we had a site next to a site that was being improved, so work activity was pretty constant from 9 to about 3 everyday. This included the use of a gas powered stone saw. For $80 a night I would expect not to have to endure this. We also arrived at a time when the trees were dropping pollen so needless to say yellow pollen and leaves were everywhere. Beautiful park. Gated with great amenities. VERY convenient to restaurants and the beach. Easy in and out. Satellite hooked up (winter time). Good Verizon signal. We stayed on lot 311. It was near the clubhouse and had a lake view. Something very unusual in most resorts, our site was very private. Surrounded by hedges and trees but none over the coach. Site has padded furniture and a round table with an umbrella that has solar lighting at night. At night there is a nicely designed landscape lighting that makes evening sitting out very nice. There is no need to leave the resort for exercise. Very nice exercise facility. You can walk almost 2 miles within the resort and cover very little ground twice. Lake has fish if you want to catch and release. People are very friendly but not intrusive. Pool and hot tub are to die for! Lots of activities to participate in. Lots of things to do outside the resort too. Check out the restaurant deals! You can get a good meal for cheap if you shop around. Yea, they have pickleball too! The beach is to die for. Ride your bike to the beach and on your way back stop at "Aunt Chiladas" and have a Fried Grouper or Shrimp Taco with a glass of Iced Tea or Arnold Palmer. Very nice lunch for little over $20 for two with tip. Two grocery stores within walking distance. Bike trail at the entrance to the resort that will cover almost 50 miles of trails around the island. There is constant entertainment around the Island. Some free. You can spend a lifetime there and not get bored.

Quality, high dollar RV resort, impeccably maintained. Friendly and efficient staff and service. We enjoy our visits to this resort. The foliage, good restaurants and shopping, and closeness to the beach is wonderful. The people are friendly with sites well-maintained. In rebuttal to other reviews, not everyone can afford or wants a newer coach. Not revealing too much, I will share that I have a Newmar Essex so I am not one with a "lesser" coach but I do respect the efforts of others. They are having fun and, while not a new coach, they all appear well maintained and the sites are organized (little/no trash or junktiques sitting around). Many sites have large/extended sitting patios with furniture, grills, etc available for use. Wood fires and charcoal grills are not allowed. Pool/hot tub and tennis courts are all active with happy "campers". Lots of walkers, bicyclists, etc to chat with. Workampers do a fabulous job in all aspects of maintaining and managing this resort. Hope to visit again someday. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is a class act. Beautiful. Loved the fitness center and the pool. Beach is about 10-15 min bike ride away. You have to cross a couple busy intersections but there are sidewalks. We loved our stay here and felt it was worth the (expensive) price tag. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Although we did not initially reserve a lake front site, we were able to book one upon arrival. It was a wonderful large site with brick pavers. Great sitting area right on the lake. Expensive but worthwhile. We were also able to use our satellite which appears to be unusual given that most sites are in trees. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We were sorely disappointed. With fairly high ratings from this site as well as others we expected a true world-class motorcoach resort. We will try to be fair but frankly we are aghast at what we found here. In terms of the positives, the location is very good, the pool and tennis areas are indeed excellent, and the staff is very helpful. That's about it. Now the negatives. First of all there are many (many!) very old coaches. Some were ready for the scrap heap. No kidding. We do not mean a few years old, we mean a few decades old. A number were so surrounded by sculpture, tiki huts, flags, signs, old metal furniture, lawn ornaments and other forms of adornment we seriously doubt they will ever move again. Once more in fairness, a reasonable number (maybe 1/4) of the sites have indeed been improved and several are quite nice. These are the exception not the rule. As we walked the grounds we observed that most of the parking pads are breaking up and most require complete replacement. All of the sites felt far too small for today's larger class A's and they are very, very close together. Many are separated by just one thin margin of grass or shrubbery. This gave the park a cluttered, claustrophobic feel. Oh yeah, the "lake" is not really a lake. It's a retention pond - more appropriate for catching runoff from rain than something that adds true beauty to the park. To be candid the overall feel is more mobile home park than motorcoach resort. Lastly, even during the high season the park was only partially full and many sites are for sale. Not a good omen. There is such potential here but no sign at all that improvements are planned or in the works. It is truly a shame as Hilton Head has been one of our favorite vacation spots for more than 15 years. We had high hopes for the HHI Motorcoach Resort but sadly they were dashed. We will not return. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

First, Hilton Island Island is a resort island with everything you need for a wonderful vacation - beaches, shopping, boating, and many excellent restaurants and its so close you can bike to much of it. The lot was really well maintained with stamped concrete and pavers with an area for sitting out and lounging in the provided outdoor furniture. An awning was not even necessary due to the tree cover and and clouds. The kids loved biking around the resort, swimming and playing tennis. This is one of the best resorts we've ever stayed at. We have fallen in love with HHIMCR - our friends kept telling us to go and we finally made it - upon arrival staff greeted us and even called out my name before I said who I was - she saw that we were not towing and I told her we had bikes so she immediately handed me the bike trail map and told me directions to the beach - our escort was the best - every time he came by during our stay he would stop and chat - met lots of new friends - I see why they say come in before 5:00 - it's so large we even got lost trying to find our way back to our RV but we met new people along the way - we will be back.
