We were sorely disappointed. With fairly high ratings from this site as well as others we expected a true world-class motorcoach resort. We will try to be fair but frankly we are aghast at what we found here. In terms of the positives, the location is very good, the pool and tennis areas are indeed excellent, and the staff is very helpful. That's about it. Now the negatives. First of all there are many (many!) very old coaches. Some were ready for the scrap heap. No kidding. We do not mean a few years old, we mean a few decades old. A number were so surrounded by sculpture, tiki huts, flags, signs, old metal furniture, lawn ornaments and other forms of adornment we seriously doubt they will ever move again. Once more in fairness, a reasonable number (maybe 1/4) of the sites have indeed been improved and several are quite nice. These are the exception not the rule. As we walked the grounds we observed that most of the parking pads are breaking up and most require complete replacement. All of the sites felt far too small for today's larger class A's and they are very, very close together. Many are separated by just one thin margin of grass or shrubbery. This gave the park a cluttered, claustrophobic feel. Oh yeah, the "lake" is not really a lake. It's a retention pond - more appropriate for catching runoff from rain than something that adds true beauty to the park. To be candid the overall feel is more mobile home park than motorcoach resort. Lastly, even during the high season the park was only partially full and many sites are for sale. Not a good omen. There is such potential here but no sign at all that improvements are planned or in the works. It is truly a shame as Hilton Head has been one of our favorite vacation spots for more than 15 years. We had high hopes for the HHI Motorcoach Resort but sadly they were dashed. We will not return. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Although we did not initially reserve a lake front site, we were able to book one upon arrival. It was a wonderful large site with brick pavers. Great sitting area right on the lake. Expensive but worthwhile. We were also able to use our satellite which appears to be unusual given that most sites are in trees. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

We have fallen in love with HHIMCR - our friends kept telling us to go and we finally made it - upon arrival staff greeted us and even called out my name before I said who I was - she saw that we were not towing and I told her we had bikes so she immediately handed me the bike trail map and told me directions to the beach - our escort was the best - every time he came by during our stay he would stop and chat - met lots of new friends - I see why they say come in before 5:00 - it's so large we even got lost trying to find our way back to our RV but we met new people along the way - we will be back. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

First, Hilton Island Island is a resort island with everything you need for a wonderful vacation - beaches, shopping, boating, and many excellent restaurants and its so close you can bike to much of it. The lot was really well maintained with stamped concrete and pavers with an area for sitting out and lounging in the provided outdoor furniture. An awning was not even necessary due to the tree cover and and clouds. The kids loved biking around the resort, swimming and playing tennis. This is one of the best resorts we've ever stayed at. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

One of the finest resorts we have stayed at. From the entrance, the office staff, parking attendants, grounds crew and most certainly the activities director, this place ROCKS. We had 17 coaches in our group from The Colonial Virginians FMCA Chapter. We were all treated like owners. The grounds are wooded and shaded, most pads are pavers with patio areas, the pool area is large and inviting. They serve various meals throughout the week for reasonable prices. Overall and EXCELLENT resort. We have already booked our return for 2018. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

I had heard good things about this resort and had high expectations. I was a bit disappointed. This resort is an ownership resort and many of the lots are for sale. Our lot was level and spacious, but had some broken landscape lighting, an old satellite dish out back, and the landscaping looked neglected around the site. During our two day stay, our neighbor had his RV roof detailed, his RV washed, and maintenance performed. This happened after 5pm one evening, before 9am the next morning, and the maintenance guy parked his van on our site in front of our RV. Not a peaceful stay to say the least. Clubhouse and facilities were clean and well maintained. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

This is my first perfect 10. This park is 40 years old and still great. Sites are privately owned and way above what you get in many parks costing much more. Starting with the reservation process once you give them your dates you see what is available with pictures. Once you arrive you can move to another available site if you wish. Our site was pavers and lawn with plenty of nice landscaping giving us privacy. Lots of mature trees, including a wide variety of palms. We had a table and chairs and a nice view of their lake. The park has a beautiful pool, six perfect tennis courts, and an exercise facility that was not the usual joke. WIFI was great. The owners seem to run the show and keep everything up to high standards. One of the owners told me that for the past 40 years they have enforced a rule that all motorhomes must leave the park (if only for a few hours) every 90 days to prevent the creep toward permanent structures. All sites were nice and some are spectacular with owners going all out with landscaping. We stayed for a week and had a great time. Also a bargain for $75 a night. We have spent a lot more and received a lot less. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

A relatively quiet, heavily wooded campground. Still recovering from hurricane Matthew (as is the entire island) so not as quiet as it could be. Noticeable road noise during the day (mostly the trucks hauling debris) which died off around sunset. Winding asphalt access roads - two lane in places, but mostly narrower. Nice level backin sites with pavers (jack pads required) for rig and patio and usually some amount of patio furniture. Can be tight for big rigs, but escorts did a fine job getting us into the site. Power ok, water ok, sewer ok. Campground wifi pretty good signal and speed - no need to use our hotspots. Verizon LTE 5 bars with adequate speed. Tmobile LTE 3 bars with good speed. Satellite access very iffy and highly site dependent. Good digital cable service. Good road bike riding in campground and miles (I road around 45 miles of them and still didn't get them all) of bike paths directly accessible from campground. Full single stream recycling on site back at the maintenance area near the lakeside sites. We will be back for an extended stay. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

It was a lovely park with lots of amenities with great pool, hot tub, ice machine...very safe and extremely close to shopping, dining and a short drive to the beach. Fairly tight corners but doable in a 40ft with tow. Staff is very particular about parking you their way. I found it annoying and not helpful. Overall a nice facility. We booked a space near the lagoon and the views were attractive. Nice pool facility, workout room, and laundry. Overall the grounds are lush and heavily treed - as in no satellite but cable worked fine. All sites are concrete or improved tile. Guided to site upon entry. Office staff friendly. Convenient to the main road entering the island. You do not want to have to use the many roundabouts that are all over the island. Confusing and tight. Close to beaches, restaurants and other island activities. All lots are privately owned and there is a big difference in level of amenities. The majority of the spaces we saw could use a serious clean up - from tree trimming to general maintenance. While this is certainly more of a resort in nature than a campground, it does not match up to other privately owned parks we have visited. If in the area I would come back. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

The Jazz Corner restaurant and jazz club is near by and a Trip Advisor #1 selection. Food was excellent, professional local musicians. Pricey but worth a great night out. Staff and owner went out of their way to make you enjoy your night. Make reservations a few days in advance.

Best park we have stayed in to date. All sites are individually owned and maintained. Most have pavers and are beutifully landscaped. Ours had a nice patio set and grill. Very secure setting and right in the heart of Hilton Head. Will repeat as often as possible. We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful, well-maintained motor coach (only) resort. Close to tons of shopping and dining. The only negatives about the stay were related to our dinghy and dolly. The check-in area can only accommodate 3 coaches, and we had to unload the car and disconnect the trailer before entering the resort, and the attendant parked another coach right behind us (so we couldn't unload!). We had to park the trailer in a remote corner of the resort (fine) but there is no reasonable place to reconnect when leaving, so we hooked up in the middle of the road, in front of another site, in the blazing sun. So, 30 unpleasant minutes, and the rest of the week was great, so a good average. It was a really nice place to spend our anniversary (if you can't be at Fort Wilderness!). We camped at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

WOW! What a great place to stay. Very high end, well maintained, luxurious resort. Huge swimming pool, jacuzzi, 6 tennis courts, pickelball, shuffleboard, basketball court, playground for the kids. A mile and a half from the beach. Beautiful sites, landscaped impeccably. Friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Lots of activities and fun to go to the Meet and Greet on Fridays!
