Staying here for two weeks (early Nov) hoping the weather down south cools off. The site I have is the 30 amp "cheapie" w/o the sewer waste. Will use honey wagon or dump when I leave. Water pressure seems to be a little lacking but it could be my part of the park. Wet when it rains but gravel on site to take care of the issue. Seems like they distribute it after a rain. Nice Park. Nice guests. Long terms are separated up the hill. VERY NICE pond and if the pictures in the office are true- large bass in it with "catch and release." Have not checked out the facilities with the exception of the laundry room which seems adequate. Sites are very nicely marked. Very nice about holding packages for you from UPS, USPS,,... Adequate space between sites and room for vehicles. Little bit of seasonal stuff falling off trees onto vehicle. Seems like most motorhomes are slotted in an area to themselves. Do not think they have a monthly rate, as I asked. Also, by the dump site the water is clearly marked "non potable" I do not know if that applies to the park as I use bottled water. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

I was stationed here in the mid 70's and Angel Oak (a VERY old oak tree) was just sitting out in the woods. Now Charleston has made a park of it and it is just wonderful to visit- it is within 15 minutes from here- wear bright clothes so your selfie stands out. Handout from the park is very helpful with maps and stuff. If the office is closed when you arrive check the front door clips and find your handout with your lot number. Dollar General, gasoline, Burger King are pretty close.

This was great park that was off the main roads but close to everything. Gravel roads that were a little narrow but easily navigated. There's a roomy laundry room and bathroom / showers were very clean and nice. A small pool is available and the lakes were very peaceful. Saw some long term residents, but they were very friendly and sites were well kept. Water, power, and sewer were all good. This is a quiet park and train noise was really not intrusive, barely noticeable outside. We come to Charleston often and this will be our new campground . We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Great Seafood restaurant, Gilligan's, down the road about 5 minutes. Don't miss the Angel Oak and the Charleston Tea Plantation. The only Tea Plantation in America. Also the City market and Carriage tours in Downtown Charleston. Patriots Point with the USS Yorktown is only 15 minutes away and has a ferry to Fort Sumter.

We typically like state parks and driving into Lake Aire RV Park gives you the feeling of rustic and "woodsy". The staff is friendly and welcoming. Our site was a pull-through on the end, which was very convenient for for our one night stay. The inside roads were wide enough, but a little tight for turns as residents parked on the road vs. their site. As other reviewers have stated, there are a number of fulltime residents. It rained very hard the night we were there and our site was pretty muddy with some standing water. Sites are fairly close together and I had to walk near the neighbor sewer hose hookup to avoid the water. Additional gravel for the sites may help. Overall, it was a convenient stay and we will stop again for future visits. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice and convenient to Charleston for touring. The WiFi signal was strong, but v e r y s l o w. We had intermittent rain and that left the ground either submerged or muddy. Sites were level gravel with lots of grass around but a bit tightly spaced. I was concerned about my neighbor's fire ring's proximity to our trailer. Staff was great, friendly and helpful for local info. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots of things to do in Charleston. We did a city bus tour that was coupled with a harbor tour, but did it on different days. We also were able to visit friends on nearby Edisto Island.

Really, really liked this park. We stayed 4 nights while we toured Charleston. The office people were extremely nice, we were on a little lake with ducks. The only negative was that it rained a LOT. Of course they can't help that, and although there was water all around, we had no problem with the water. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed at park three days over weekend of the eclipse. Fabulous service. The lady at the front went out of her way to give me the perfect site near my friends. Small lake was lovely. A little muddy in places, but clean and well kept. Problem with electrical hookup was handled in minutes. Very happy with this campground. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Ok for a lower cost option when visiting Charlestown area. Feels like a long time to get anywhere though as it's not really anywhere central. Very closely spaced sites, most of these seem long term. Although grounds and long term sites tidy, still overall feels like a long term and tent camping ground. Access is easy, all sites pull through. Utilities fine. Clean, small and sun exposed pool for use. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Water stands everywhere when it rains even on the sites. Can't stop the rain but sites should be higher and better. To many long term units. All roads were rough with mud puddles. Hasn't changed since our stay in 2009. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bathrooms not clean. Water pressure in showers non existent. Pressure at sites worse. No wi fi connection at site. I walked around wi fi would not be constant. Sites are hard to maneuver to. We were in M you had to twist around a road to get to site. We had the unfortunate pleasure of being next to full timers whose unit looked like it was falling apart. This is not their problem but it stormed so bad the river behind us overflowed its bank. The front was underwater also. We hope we don't get stuck in the mud leaving. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here in a Class A with tow vehicle. Can't believe the time has gone by so quick. Gonna miss ya's. This is our third year coming back to Lake Aire. We can not say enough about this campground. From the time you pull in you feel at home. The employees are wonderful. Always there to help. The owners really take pride in this campground and it shows. It is wonderful to see all the exciting changes and watching this family run business grow. Close to downtown Charleston. December can't come quick enough. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate is Veteran's rate, weekly basis. RV Park is located off Hwy 162 just south of the U.S. highway 17 intersection. It is 15 miles south of downtown Charleston up US 17. We booked two months in advance to get a one week stay. While we were here they were constantly full, turning people away. This park has a very small store in the office, but nearby stores within 6 miles have pretty much anything you may have forgotten to bring including groceries and camping supplies. We had a pull-through with full hook-ups on the side of the motor home. Some site's hook-ups are all the way in the back of the site. They have lots of broad leaf trees around the edges, and Muscovy ducks and birds. They have gravel driveways and sand, grass, and gravel pads. There is mowed grass around the edge of the pads. We experienced some rain, so the grassy areas turned into little lakes. Park employees actually brought sump pumps out to try and drain these little lakes. They have picnic tables and fire rings. They have screw in sewer connections. Water pressure was good. Electrical is 30 and 50 amps. If you are quiet at night, you can hear the rumble of the train and the train whistle. There is a small lake (large pond) with a pavilion and a place for tent camping. There are several small loops of approximately 20 sites each. Some of the loops have mostly long term residents. There is no cable TV, but with an antenna you can get 18 channels. Verizon Wireless was 2 out of 5 bars; ATT wireless 3 out of 5 bars. There is open WiFi with no password required. Response was very good except on the weekend. 23 FM radio stations and 5 AM radio stations. There is no trash pick up at the site but trash cans are at the end of the loop. There were small biting Black Gnats (Buffalo Gnats) about 1/8 inch long which made insect repellent necessary. The bites itch like crazy. We would camp here again. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

A Super Walmart is 6 miles up US 17. The Mason Jar By Fatboys is past Walmart on Ashley River Rd. The Tea Plantation is 20 miles up US 17 and then down Hwy 700 to Wadmalaw Island. The Fire Museum is 15 miles up US 17 and north on I-526. Publix is less than 4 miles up US 17. Angel Oak and Gilligan's restaurants are less than 4 miles up US 17. The Angel Oak Tree is 10.4 miles away.

Lake Aire is a nice campground about 15 miles outside of Charleston, SC. The park staff are great, the park itself is really good. They were running very full when we were there in March, we could not get a site with sewer hook up, but we were right next to the pool which was nice. The pool was nice and clean. Lot of full timers and residents, but not trashy and everyone was nice. Verizon voice and data good. Free wifi that was OK, kind of spotty, but if patient it would do the job. Small fishing pond on site with a large pavilion and some hammocks along the shore line. Propane sold on site at a great price. Trees on the interior portion of the campground were sparse, making satellite no problem for almost all sites. Lots of trees and forest around the perimeter. We would stay here again, it is a good value with Passport America Discount, and they give you the discount for the entire stay, not just a night or two. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Here are a couple of pictures from the campground we stayed at this weekend. The bathrooms, laundry room and pool were nice and clean. There is a Pavilion area with horseshoes, corn hole and boccie ball set up. Plenty of areas to fish. 30 and 50 amp hookups with full service on most sites. Also very nice playgrounds and tent area.
