As you enter this park you have a bad feeling, rough roads, mostly unkempt with pot holes, tree roots etc....A small park with more than a few permanents rvs. Highly advise asking for sites 31 thru 38. These sites are set aside from the rest and actually aren't that bad. Stayed in site 31, the best they got. Open and could get satellite on any of the 30s sites. Over the air tv was fine. Wifi was good. The owners live in a beautiful 2 story log home at the entrance. I truly believe the owner ran out of money after buying this log home because they apparently haven't put any money into the park. Run-down is the right word. Yet they were nice and helpful. Will not return....PS Bring leveling blocks! We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed one night while traveling. We have a 36ft 5th and had no problem in or out. The site was a very long pull thru. A little un level but doable. The roads are narrow but had no problems. A lot of tree cover, so no satellite. Wifi was good. People were friendly and easy to work with. We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Made a reservation for a one night stay while traveling (no Credit Card, they just write your name down). Campground is close to I-26 but far enough out so you don't hear any traffic noise. Full hookups including WiFi. You get what you pay for, this is a great overnight campground but not a destination site. The roads are narrow but had no problem with a 30-ft Fifth Wheel, the sites are small, gravel and uneven. Our neighbor would not have been able to put his awning out without hitting our slide. The campground was quiet and worked great as an overnight stop, will use again when traveling thru. We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Was a little leery of this after reading some previous reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised by this facility. It's not a luxury "resort" by any means, but if you're looking for a basic overnight place that isn't fancy, this would be just fine. You're not paying $40 to $60, either, which is more and more the going rate. This is probably what camping was like years ago. Yes, the entrance and roads are a little narrow, but we had no trouble with our 40-footer plus towed car.

The campground appears to be family run, and the lady who came to help us was very cordial, walked us directly to the site, answered questions, etc. We had a pull-through, which was a very nice surprise, and the site was nicely shaded...most welcome, as our AC had died the previous day. The site wasn't perfectly level, requiring the jacks, which we seldom use...but then it was fine. The site had 50 amp electric, water, and sewer. Don't recall about wifi, but I don't think so. Nice to get away from the blasted connectivity for a night anyway. We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed a week at Woodsmoke. We were part of a mission team working on local houses that were affected by the floods last fall. We checked in during a heavy rain. The roads & sites are gravel. Roads & our site were fine. We worked a bit at getting the rig level, but the site was fine. Water pressure was great so make sure to have your regulator on!

The park is fairly full with full time workers. But the owners keep several sites open for those of us coming thru the area. What's important to us is that whoever is in the park keeps a clean site & the park is safe & quiet. The owners checked on us several times during our stay. They are on site & can respond as needed.

This park isn't a resort so I won't rate it or downgrade it because it doesn't have a pool or other amenities. It's a mile off the interstate, easy access. Close to shopping & restaurants. And for us close to where we needed to be. If we were in the area, we would stay here again. We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is very old and ran down. It caters to long term contractors working at building area power plants. Interior roads are rutted and narrow with encroaching trees. Our site was un-level and muddy during our visit. Most of the buildings in the park are run down and in need of demolition. There is a new housing development on adjacent land, plus the town seems to be growing in this direction. Our feeling is the owners are bidding their time for a buyout and not putting any money into the park. On the plus side, power, water and sewer hookups were all satisfactory. We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This is an older campground, and it shows it. That said, we were, to my total surprise, able to get the coach leveled. There is nothing fancy about this camp, which is stuck in amongst a stand of pines and oaks. (Don't expect to get a satellite signal.) I saw no play ground for kids, nor any other amenity. The Wi-Fi worked good and the power and water were acceptable. The camp is an easy drive from I-26, but the entrance is very narrow, as is the road leading to the office and around the camp to your site. (A forty-footer better disconnect at the office.) The sites appeared to filled with permanent motorhomes and trailers. The only three spots open were the "pull through" two with 30 AMP only and the third with 30 and 50 AMP. I would stay here again, but only for the night if I was traveling somewhere else. Stayed in a 34' coach with Toad. We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We made a reservation at this spot because it was easy access from I-26. We only stayed one night. The internal roads and sites were gravel and dirt over hilly terrain which got muddy when it rained. Most of the sites were occupied by workers in the area. We never met anyone associated with the park. We found our name and site assignment on a board on the front porch of the locked office and then proceeded to our pull through. I found the restrooms and laundry to be clean but housed in small buildings that need to be maintained. there is a nice pond and playground but this is not a destination campground. We found it was great for one night and would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We called for reservation for a week, and were ASSURED by the Christian owner on the phone that ALL sites had Wi-Fi. So, we made a reservation. (We have an ebay business & need internet access). After we arrived, we were told that we could only get Wi-Fi, IF we purchased a pull through site, (which was an additional 10 per day). We felt deceived but had no choice, so we reluctantly signed. Well, guess what? Still NO Wi-Fi! Other campers were complaining and walking round the property with laptops, like diving rods trying to get a signal. The owner then tried to sell a device to us for an additional $60. How very Christian of her. BTW, we declined. After 3 days a new message was posted on the big sign out front saying: "Jesus is the best wireless connection." I had to pick my jaw up off the ground. We had lost money, because we couldn't conduct business, while we were here. Boy, talk about rubbing salt in an open wound. Though its old, I will say that it is pretty here. It is a rip off: we couldn't wait to leave. This is a bait & switch place, if I've EVER seen one. WHAT a nightmare! We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Spent two nights here in our 32' Airstream TT. Rustic wooded setting, very shady. Old but clean restrooms, laundry machines almost brand new. Friendly staff (owners) do their own check-in, cleaning and landscape work. Small sites are dirt or gravel, but not very level (challenging with a large rig). Picnic table and fire ring provided. Horseshoe pit and tot lot with equipment. No pool, but less than five miles to brand new YMCA with gym and indoor pool (2800 Kennerly Rd). About half the sites appear to be seasonal/permanent residents. One mile to Food Lion and freeway onramp, but no noise here. Twelve miles to downtown. Excellent value: $20 partial, $24 full hook-up. We camped at Woodsmoke Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.
