A nice KOA with the camping feel that you get to enjoy but still close to all of the hot spots in Charleston. The park has a nice lake with fishing, boating, etc. as well as the normal KOA amenities. The sites are gravel, but flat and most are long enough for a full size rig and a tow vehicle. They park offers cable and their wifi worked most of the time. You pay a little extra at a KOA, but you typically get a decent park with lots of activities for the family and a good atmosphere. This park is no exception. We will stay here again when in the area. Very nice park, close to Charleston and other historical sites. Stayed six days. Level sites and big rig friendly. When leaving the park, I found it a lot easier to turn either right or left at the stop sign and go to the next cross street and you will come out to Hwy 17 at a traffic signal. Staff very friendly and helpful. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed four days. Very clean. A bit busy, but the lake and nearby water park account for a lot of traffic. A bit pricey, even for a KOA. thank you to the previous reviewer who told us about the easier exit. going straight out the driveway will cause you to set at a stop sign and wait for the bust street to clear....a long wait. We turned left at the KOA exit and took a "mall road' behind the Walmart and we were able to turn right onto a connector and the enter the highway from a stoplight. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

We disconnected because we planned to use our vehicle, not because it was required. This is a very nice RV park.

Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights. Very nice overall. The setting was outstanding (old Plantation with trees and lake) and quiet area. The sites were nice and wide with grass buffers between sites. Our gravel site was level and well maintained with good gravel coverage. They offered individual private bathhouses that were nice and kept very clean. The office had a well stocked store and the staff was great and very helpful. The only opportunity for this RV resort would be to expand their laundry facility as they could use a few more washers and dryers for the size of this park. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

Very clean and well maintained park. Much better than most KOAs. Staff very nice. Check in quick. We stayed in #7 for 2 nights. Only issue was not much gravel on patio, mostly Sandy dirt. Second site, #22, was shorter but adequate. Much more gravel..didn't bring dirt in. Would stay again. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

We had a site overlooking the lake. However it was a mud pit when it rained. Given the pricing and the location, one would think that graveled site area would be essential as some sites were. Disappointing. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We chose this site to see the total eclipse of 2017. This is by far the best campground we have ever visited for a lot of reasons. They don't just have a "lake". They have a very large, very beautiful lake for boating and fishing. They have an amazing nature trail. It is quite different in that the path is very well marked and you can bike or walk through it. All of the facilities are immaculate and extremely well maintained. It seems like they clean the showers and toilets every few minutes. The pool is small, but hasn't been crowded in spite of them being totally booked up for the eclipse. Finally, the staff were absolutely the best. We had a problem with our motorhome and had to move into a cabin for the last night. The cabins are extremely comfortable and well furnished. I've stayed in less comfortable Hyatt Regency hotels. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed a little over 2 weeks and the overall the campground was very nice. My biggest disappointment was with a few of the staff in the office. We have friends and family in the area and invited them over for drinks a few times. The staff wanted to charge our visitors a "visitor fee" and when I questioned the fee, I was told they prefer we meet family and friends outside the campground. I was very insulted and still can't understand the thought process for charging a visitor who is NOT spending the night. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

This RV park was fine - just overpriced for our needs. KOAs are always "resort-priced" it seems, but transient adults like us don't really want or use all those features that we are paying for (wagon rides, playground, paddleboats, etc) It was a nice enough stop for a couple of days and the folks in the office were super .. very friendly and helpful. And there was some decent bike-riding along quiet side streets, which was a plus for us. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

when leaving park to get on highway take a left b4 the highway and go around the shopping center then take a right which will take you to a light otherwise hard to get out either way with traffic. Ask office. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

This is one of the better KOA's we have stayed in - very clean park with a friendly and helpful staff, and there is a big staff which explains the rather hefty cost, in addition to the ideal location for seeing the ever popular Charleston. Kamp K-9 for dogs is wonderful and a dog lover's treat. Still, we could not help thinking 65 bucks for a back in with no sewer (and next to a storage) was quite overpriced. We camped at Mt. Mt. Pleasant itself has boomed in the last decade and there is plenty to see and do - Charleston is only minutes away.

Our 2nd visit here. Super clean and really nice people working here. We arrived at 9:02 p.m. but the office stayed open for us and we were still escorted to our site. Large enough site for our 32' motorhome and a rental car with plenty of room to spare. Enough space between units or Kabins so we didn't feel like sardines. Just a couple of blocks off the main drag to Charleston and very quiet. Nice small lake (catch and release), large dog park, disc golf, pool, and adjacent fun park. The most amazing thing is that the Wi-Fi actually works and works well. The exception was Saturday evening when the campground was filled to the gills, the other six days were great. I also experienced the "low def" almost unviewable cable TV so we just used our antenna for weather reports. I didn't set up the dish. It sure ain't cheap, but I'd stay here again (and again) when in Charleston. We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

Very clean and well run park. Friendly staff. We had a premium site which was large enough to accommodate our 37' MH and tow vehicle. Good separation between sites and the sites themselves are slightly staggered so that all the MH are not parked parallel to each other. Wifi was good although much slower during the weekend. Cable was grainy, we used our satellite instead. The park has a 1.2 mile nature trail which is well maintained as well as a large lake with a frisbee golf course which is unusual to find but lots of fun. Located close to a main road in Mt. Pleasant that has all sorts of shops, stores etc yet the park is far away enough such that there is minimal if any road noise. 20 minute easy drive to the Charleston historic district. There a few premium pull through sites that look unto the lake. KOA doesn't allow you to reserve specific sites ahead of time but ask at check in desk if one is available and you might get lucky
