The property has been sold. We were told new owners are closing the campground. Some sites are right along a street and get a lot of traffic noise. Our site was 24' wide some were even wider - lots of room for slides and awnings. Very close to some major attractions and restaurants. Sites were clean and well maintained. This is the second trip to Barefoot. We stayed creek side and it was great. Big site that was level. The staff at Barefoot gets the best rating due to an emergency with my son when he needed to go to the hospital. I could not contact my husband so I called the campsite and they found him right away and offered to give him a ride to the hospital. This shows me that they are always looking out for everyone's well being. This is a quiet campground and great for the family. You will love it as much as I do. Don't miss a great vacation, stay at Barefoot. We camped at Barefoot Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.Undo
We arrived at our site after dark and had great difficulty trying to park our tow vehicle due to the extremely small site size. We were camping in a 30 foot Terry Dakota which is by far not the largest. On our way back out of the park to buy groceries, we stopped at the registration office to ask permission to park our truck in an empty golf cart lot across from our site for the night until we could "tweek" our trailer's position the next morning. The young lady working at the counter stated "that will be fine. I'll notify our security person that you'll be parked there." Upon returning from our grocery trip, we were confronted by a gentleman who commenced to berate me as if I were some kind of trash for parking in the golf cart area. I asked if he was the security person to which he replied very nastily: "No! I'm the General Manager!" I attempted to explain to him that we had checked with the registration office prior to parking to which he replied, "That girl had no authority to give you permission. I'll deal with her!" It became obvious that this man was a power crazy thug and had absolutely no common sense or tact in dealing with a situation that could have been resolved in a much better manner. I can understand having to be nasty with those whom the rules mean nothing but in our situation, any reasonable person could quickly see how unreasonable this guy was. I was so infuriated that I wanted to pull up stakes right then and leave but my wife convinced me to stay. We had planned too long and worked too hard to allow this jerk to be a "wet blanket." We'll never stay at this resort again and will be spreading the word of our incident. We camped at Barefoot Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.Undo
Upon arrival we were greated by friendly management and directed to our site. We found ocean front sites to be small. You cannot see the ocean because of the high dunes you need to cross over. Beachfront sites are larger and accommodated our 40' motorhome. Each site has a sheltered picnic table. Sites to the side are better/larger than the ones in the middle. It had rained recently and the grassy areas had lots of standing water. Restrooms were clean with some sand (remember you're at the beach) and air conditioned. Dumpsters were not very well located - had to walk half way across the park to find one by the restrooms. Roads are well maintained but some turns in the front area where the semi-permanent trailer homes are located are a little snug for large rigs. The park was frequently patrolled for security. The beach was clean and we were not bothered by fireworks - you can be fined by the City of N Myrtle Beach for shooting off fireworks on the beach. The pool is small; the "lazy river" is tiny - best for little kids. We wanted to stay longer but ended up in the mandatory evacuation due to Hurricane Charley. We were VERY disappointed because management did not offer/give refunds for nights we had paid for and could not use due to the evacuation. We camped at Barefoot Camping Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Overall, not a bad park. Getting in and out of our campsite was a little tight with our 26ft travel trailer behind crewcab duelly. Site was narrow and not level at all but looking around others seemed to be better. Indoor pool is very nice if you have kids and come in cool weather. They also have a small fitness room. If you camp in the shaded sites it is a LONG way to the beach. If you camp at the beach sites, it is a LONG way to the pool, fitness center, camp store, and office. Only $19 a night in October 2004. We camped here in Sept 03 for four days. We were oceanfront and loved it. Quiet, clean
and friendly. We saw an ant hill near our site and the office staff were out there putting down ant killer within minutes and we did not have one problem with that. The bathrooms are very clean and air conditioned. The oceanfront sites are a little small but the other sites are big with a picnic table and shelter. Security patrols frequently and they cater to families and couples. The park is quiet at night. This is a great place to stay and we will be here again. Close to lots of eating and shopping. Sites are small for 40 ft. motor home and sites are all small. Check in personnel do not seem to care if you stay there or not as they will be able to rent the space. No grass just sand and if it rains lots of sand in motor home. Would most likely try another campground when we are in the area next. We camped at Barefoot Camping Resort in a camper.Undo
Our favorite beach campground. Restroom/showers are immaculate. Golf car rental is fun. Has two pools, one with lazy river. Some sites are shaded, others are ocean or marsh front. Excellent camping experience. We camped at Barefoot Camping Resort in a camper.Undo
