Stayed 2 nights on way north from Florida. Property right on Lake Marion, but close to I-95 bridge so there is noise. Sites are close, sandy. Staff not very friendly. Lots of rules. Nice pool area with lazy river sandy 'beach' area. Friends staying at campground adjacent and said this place is better than where they are staying and less expensive. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

We were just staying one night. Got a pull thru so we didn't have to unhook. Office staff were friendly and efficient. Sites are close but we had enough room. Very sandy, but it's on a lake so that's to be expected. No issues maneuvering to the site. Internet reached our site but it was slow. Got enough channels with the antenna we didn't bother with dish. Walked to the restaurant for dinner. They had a decent selection and it was good. Looked to have plenty to do for families. Pools, beach, arcade, playground, putt putt, fishing, boating. Plenty of grass for the dog. We would stop again. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

First let me say that I knew there would be road noise. You can see I95 from your camper so it is what it is. The campsites themselves are average; sandy, fairly level but somewhat close together. Fortunately there were not many overnighters so we had space between ours and then next over. We did not use the facilities but we did go to the lake to run off some wiggles of our 14 month old golden retriever. It was a nice treat for him to be able to chase balls in the water. Not sure if that was officially allowed but it didn't say no dogs ;) I understand the restaurant is good but it was closed when we were here. Staff was efficient but not necessarily friendly. We would probably not stay here again unless the golden needs a swim. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stopped here for an overnight while traveling home. Very sandy area that's typical of a lakefront campground. Sites close together. Looks to have lots of summertime activities. One of the bonuses was a nice restaurant overlooking the lake. Short walk so we didn't have to unhook the car or cook. Don't think I would want to stay there for an extended time but was nice for one night. We didn't notice any traffic noise from I-95 even though it was quite visible. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stopped for the night on our way home from Disney. We enjoyed our brief stay and imagine it would be an excellent location in warmer weather. They have a nice pool facility, beach area by the lake, a playground, and a cute putt putt course. WiFi signal where we were was excellent. Only 2 negatives: water was a little dirty (looked like weak tea in the tub when bathing my girls) and there is a lot of road noise (obviously no ones fault and didn't bother us personally but I'm mentioning because I know it would be a bigger deal to others). We'd happily stay here again, especially during the Summer months. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice RV park with both long term residents and overnighter's. We have stayed at this park before and it does not disappoint. Management and staff are excellent. All FHU facilities worked as advertised. Verizon voice and data excellent. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

Good Sam discount for two nights at a FHU, 50 amp, pull through site. The site was level and sandy with a picnic table and fire pit. The sand sticks to your shoes and gets tracked into the RV. Easy access to the park from the Interstate. We had good DishTV satellite reception and good Verizon cell and internet reception. We would stay here again. Have stayed here three separate times - one night each. Liked the park; it has lots of outdoor activities available at park and in area. Many families stay by the week in summer. Park has 2 pools, kids water park area and lazy river. There is a restaurant on site. Park is on lake with two docks. Water and sewer not well located. Very nice. Campground is clean. Lots to do there. Nice pool area and lazy river. Good fishing in the lake. Staff was nice when we checked in. Our site was very nice with lots of shade and on the end so there was no one in front of us. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this campground en route to FL as we have done several times in the past. It has changed staff and management since our last visit and it was evident. The sites are not nearly as well-maintained nor are the restrooms (trash in several sites, in several sites, restrooms not as clean as usual - bleach would remove many of the water stains). An employee commented that things aren't as nice as they used to be. Many long-term guests. Cable only available on a few sites. Things may be different during the busy season when people visit to fish and boat. May or may not return. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

WONDERFUL restaurant you can walk to for dinner right on the water. We have stayed here before and we were quite happy with the location and food. Unfortunately, this December 2016 the restaurant is closed for renovations. Will look forward to it opening again for our next trip.

We had to eat this time across the water at Exit 98 at the Historic hotel and restaurant. I will give it a 5-star also. Fabulous stay all around.

Excessive road noise, overpriced for a back-in site for one night. Would be a good destination site for boaters if highway noise and price were not an issue. No cable TV but strong WIFI New green acres 1/2 hour south( exit 53) is a good value for an overnight. We will not be returning to this campground. When we arrived at our campsite at about 5:30 pm, there was still a bag of trash from the previous tenant on the site as well as some small bits of trash across it. We went to play golf, only to discover that the mini-golf course was in total disrepair. We then went to the pool and lazy river - "lazy" being the proper name because it doesn't flow, you just sit there unless you push yourself off the side - and neither was in very good condition. Additionally, the pool closes at 8:00 so we barely had time to use it before we were told that we had to leave. Young kids were driving around on golf carts throughout the campground with no adult on board (the oldest child looked to be around 10). The dumpsters were over-flowing and rancid. Also, they fail to mention that the on-site restaurant is only open Wednesday thru Saturday. Cabins take up all of the waterfront sites so that's not an option if you're camping. Some of the staff was very friendly. However, some were unprofessional and unfriendly. They definitely did not make you feel as if you were welcome or that they appreciated your patronage. We left early and will not be going back. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.
