Have stayed here three separate times - one night each. Liked the park; it has lots of outdoor activities available at park and in area. Many families stay by the week in summer. Park has 2 pools, kids water park area and lazy river. There is a restaurant on site. Park is on lake with two docks. Water and sewer not well located. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

Very nice. Campground is clean. Lots to do there. Nice pool area and lazy river. Good fishing in the lake. Staff was nice when we checked in. Our site was very nice with lots of shade and on the end so there was no one in front of us. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this campground en route to FL as we have done several times in the past. It has changed staff and management since our last visit and it was evident. The sites are not nearly as well-maintained nor are the restrooms (trash in several sites, in several sites, restrooms not as clean as usual - bleach would remove many of the water stains). An employee commented that things aren't as nice as they used to be. Many long-term guests. Cable only available on a few sites. Things may be different during the busy season when people visit to fish and boat. May or may not return. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

WONDERFUL restaurant you can walk to for dinner right on the water. We have stayed here before and we were quite happy with the location and food. Unfortunately, this December 2016 the restaurant is closed for renovations. Will look forward to it opening again for our next trip.

We had to eat this time across the water at Exit 98 at the Historic hotel and restaurant. I will give it a 5-star also. Fabulous stay all around.

Excessive road noise, overpriced for a back-in site for one night. Would be a good destination site for boaters if highway noise and price were not an issue. No cable TV but strong WIFI New green acres 1/2 hour south( exit 53) is a good value for an overnight. Large park, clean, friendly guests. Sites are gravel/sand and fairly close together. Park has wonderful pools/water toys, Golf Cart rentals, and restaurant on site. (food was good, service acceptable). Convenient to I95 but not so close as to be noisy. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pools and water facilities are outstanding. Great place to let the kids swim and play the day away. Good idea to rent a golf cart - its a large park and depending on your location a long walk to the lake, pools, and restaurant.

We will not be returning to this campground. When we arrived at our campsite at about 5:30 pm, there was still a bag of trash from the previous tenant on the site as well as some small bits of trash across it. We went to play golf, only to discover that the mini-golf course was in total disrepair. We then went to the pool and lazy river - "lazy" being the proper name because it doesn't flow, you just sit there unless you push yourself off the side - and neither was in very good condition. Additionally, the pool closes at 8:00 so we barely had time to use it before we were told that we had to leave. Young kids were driving around on golf carts throughout the campground with no adult on board (the oldest child looked to be around 10). The dumpsters were over-flowing and rancid. Also, they fail to mention that the on-site restaurant is only open Wednesday thru Saturday. Cabins take up all of the waterfront sites so that's not an option if you're camping. Some of the staff was very friendly. However, some were unprofessional and unfriendly. They definitely did not make you feel as if you were welcome or that they appreciated your patronage. We left early and will not be going back. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed over night heading to the Northeast U.S. Check in was easy and the office personnel very friendly. We were lead to our sight. Roads could be smoothed a bit. FHU Pull thru course sand site was very level and all utilities worked properly. Swimming pool has unique river type set up so you can "tube down the river". Bathrooms were clean and very nice. The supplied wifi was inadequate. ATT and Verizon, both voice and data, is very good. It's a hike to the dumpster. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park for an overnight stay while traveling on I-95. It is right on Lake Marion and appears to have many campers that are permanent but they all had clean sites. The highway noise did not bother me at all. Highly recommend the restaurant just outside the RV park by the pool on the lake. Pull through sites were barely big enough for a 40' motorhome towed vehicle. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff. Right off I-95. Check-in fast and efficient. Led to the Pull Thru site by staff. Level sand. Wi-Fi non-existent. Long walk to dumpsters. Lots of kids/families - lake, pool, and fishing make it a draw for summer vacationers. Good for a night or two, but not a destination - at least not for us. Have stayed here before. Level pull-throughs, plenty of room for slides. Park staff guides you to your site. Staff very pleasant. During the spring and summer, there is a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a pool and water features as well as the lake. Would definitely return.
