We stayed here due to an evacuation in Myrtle Beach for hurricane Florence a group of us went seeking safe shelter. Once we got there, a few of us decided to leave due to the uncertainty of which direction the hurricane was going. When we checked out a young lady told us we would receive a two night refund. After several phone calls no one returned our call. Finally called and spoke to owner whom was very rude, and proceeded to tell me the reason we left was to have a hurricane party. The craziest thing I've ever heard. Campground is run down, owner is nasty. We are retired and on limited income it is very sad that people that people like her take advantage of evacuees. Don't waste your time visiting this campground. We camped at River Bottom Farms Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We planned a trip with our 2 young grandchildren and wanted amenities suited for kids. My wife found this campground online. We knew nothing about the area, but the website and reviews were impressive. We made the reservation...and crossed our fingers that we would not be disappointed. It was about 2 1/2 hour drive. When we arrived check-in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly. We were on Site 41 which is a very level, spacious, grassy, pull-thru with full hook-up directly across from the playground. No cable, but we had excellent air antenna reception. The grounds were well maintained and clean. Very nice swimming pool and 3 catch-and-release fish ponds. Restrooms were very clean and convenient to our campsite. A kiddie pool would have been nice for our 2 year old, but he loved hanging onto "Pa" in the big pool. Our 6 year old loved the big pool, playground, jumping pillow and even tried her hand at fishing. I never tried the wifi connection. We had an amazing time at River Bottom Farms Family Campground...and we're already planning our next trip there. There were lots of other grandparents with their grandchildren there. Very family-oriented. I highly recommend!! We camped at River Bottom Farms Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is a hidden gem. The area was very large. The sites were very spacious and it was quiet. There are a couple lakes for fishing and plenty of room for dogs to have a little run time. The store was well equipped and there was also a room with a library and crafts that were being done daily. It's a little out-of-the-way but well worth the time to Spend a night or two. We stayed here for one night as a stop over on a 750 mile journey. It was Memorial Day weekend and I called to see if by chance they had a spot for just one night. The lady was so nice and accommodating. She said they have a 3 night minimum on holidays but someone was not going to be able to arrive on their campsite until the next day, so we could stay on that site for one night. It was a very quaint little park in the middle of nowhere, SC, but convenient to I-20. There were lots of families, a pool, and a clean bathhouse. Friendly staff. Campsites are small, but it was perfect for our situation. I would recommend and would stay again. We camped at River Bottom Farms Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here a week in a 42 foot 5th wheel pull through site that was stone/grass and sand. The site was well shaded which was nice and had a nice fire pit and picnic table. The WiFi was weak but with a range extender we were able to use at our site. There park supplies no cable TV and on air channels are iffy. The walking trails were nice and the geese entertaining. Nice family-oriented park with activities for the kids on weekends. The interior roads are somewhat narrow and dirt covered. We camped at River Bottom Farms Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The capital of South Carolina is Columbia and 30 miles away. The University of South Carolina is there also. The Congaree National Park is 40 miles away and well worth visiting for hiking opportunities and wildlife.

There is absolutely nothing about this park that management could do to make it any better. Everything was excellent. We had easy parking, no leveling issues. All park equipment, water hookups, electrical and satellite shot was great. The place is big, all grass and I noticed a lady running a lawn mower almost every day. We will put this one down on our go to list. The road in from the interstate was a bit bumpy but that has nothing to do with the park. Hat tip to management. Tips for other Campers:

Walk the grounds. They told us that the river used to be accessible for canoeing but a storm rerouted it last year and there is a swampy area that kept us from getting to it. Again, not anything that management could do about mother nature. Park is a hour from the house and we will definitely be back.

We stayed at the park for three months (Oct 2016-Jan 2017) during my travel nursing contact in Columbia. It was a 45 min drive for me which wasn't ideal but we arrived just after Hurricane Matthew struck the area. There were very few parks to choose from at that time and none had availability. When we arrived it was still a Jellystone affiliate. They were in Halloween season so the weekends were very busy but it never felt crowded. They had activities for kids and adults (which I believe will continue even without the Jellystone affiliation). The layout is a large rectangle so navigation of the road was very easy. They also offer sites for tents and pop up campers. There were pull thru sites but we stayed in a back-in site. There was plenty of space to park our SUV and Harley. We parked our tow trailer in a separate secure area out of our view but behind fencing. There were 2 washers and dryers in the clubhouse which also had a game room and swimming pool. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. There were also small lakes to fish on the property. There was a non working propane tank on site so we had to purchase a separate tank and take it to be refilled about 20 miles about every 2 weeks. We didn't encounter any snow but it got down into the low 30s several times. It is definitely off the beaten path but the owners were a mother daughter team and they were always helpful and accommodating. They allowed us to move into one of the pull thru sites the day before we left so we could easily leave in the morning. I would stay there again because of the owners and the fact that it's spacious and quiet a lot of the time in the fall and winter months. We camped at River Bottom Farms Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is about 8-10 miles from a gas station, a few restaurants and a small family owned grocery store in the small town of Pelion. The bigger chains including Wal-Mart and Lowe's are roughly 25 miles away. Camping World is at least 35 miles away. I do recommend the House of Pizza in Pelion. Tasty food with generous portions every time we went. The chef salad was big enough for both of us!

An overnight stay for us, but as others have described this is a nice, family-oriented destination park. The sites are out in the open but the park is surrounded by forest. Very quiet area. Staff was friendly and competent. The site was level and hookups were convenient. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at River Bottom Farms Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This place was clean but that was it. The web page said fully stocked ponds, no one at the campground was catching anything. To get to the creek you could take the dirt path which was easy to get to, but to get to the river you were asked to wear boots and pants. If you got in either one you had to shower and change before you could use the pool. I know it was to keep the pool clean but the way we were told wasn't very nice. The activities for the kids were done at very specific times. Not too many of them either. I will not be going back. We camped at River Bottom Farms Family Campground in a Cabin.

This is a park for people who have children and like the on site activities. From what we could see, they were all having a good time. It is very much out of the way for any type of a stop over park. There is very little in the surrounding area. The National Forest is a long drive. The spaces were definitely long enough to not disconnect. Plenty of room but you are parking in a grass field. In the event it rains you could have a problem.

It appears that there are a lot of full timers located along the tree line: where the shade is. Not a problem as this is physically a large park. Maintenance was ok, but the landscaping has seen better days. Fire ring is an old truck wheel.

Front office staff was polite. We kept blowing the breaker in the first space we were in. The owners moved us and all was fine.

I would say OK for an overnight park if it wasn't so far out of the way. We camped at River Bottom Farms Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We didn't have any great expectations for this park, but everything here was such a pleasant surprise! Most of the sites are in a big grassy open field in the middle, with playground and space for kids to fly kites, run and play. We witnessed a fun Easter egg hunt consisting of several families. Most sites seem level (ours (#2) was) and some grassy, some sandy. The 6 sites in the far back are shady, the rest are open. We had our own firepit/grill which was great. Hookups were very good, but being in the back the wifi was sketchy. Our Verizon MiFi got a strong signal. The park was exceedingly quiet... haven't yet been to a place so quiet... on the other hand, we *were* out in the middle of nowhere. There is almost nothing close by, so go in well-prepared. The office/store had a small selection of things. Bathrooms and laundry room were in good condition and clean. The pool wasn't yet open but looked like it would be quite nice in the summer. Behind the camping area is another large grassy area with two large ponds, with fish (I think!) (catch and release only). A gaggle of four geese seemed to live there, and were fun to watch, less so to listen to: very loud and raucous, but made us laugh. The oval road around the sites made for a good 0.5 mile walk. A dirt road will take you back to a river (more like a creek) which makes for a pleasant walk in the forest. Everyone was very friendly... a worker (owner?) offered me a large tree limb he just cut off, for kindling. We would definitely stay here again... quite wonderful! Tips for other Campers:

Not too far away (45 minutes) is Columbia, SC, which is a good sized town and offers all the shopping and amenities you might want. We also spent a day at Congaree National Park. (Warning: our visit in March was mosquito-free, but I hear it can be really pesky for late Spring/Summer/Fall times, so take lots of DEET.) We very much enjoyed hiking the trails there. In March, everything in the area was blooming so lots of color in the trees/bushes.

Big grassy fields with playground, pool, and group fire pit in the middle. Back in sites on one side with pull-through sites on the entry road side. Water pressure was very good, utility connections were convenient, site was fairly level, park wifi worked well (park was fairly quiet), and good Verizon reception. Very quiet country location.
