When we found this campground, we thought this would be a great spot to park our RV for the next few years. Rent was affordable, site was partly shaded, and had a nice covered deck. Working with the owner, she agreed the site would work with our RV. We got permission and paid $3500 to level and stone the drive/pad due to excessive runoff from the street making the area a muddy mess. We enjoyed the space for our first year. Come renewal time, we received an email from Owner raising the rent. We weren't opposed to paying the rent, however, when we questioned all the improvements she told us would be done in the first year, and were not done, the owner sent us a second email asking us to pay the increased rent and to move our RV up several feet, because we were blocking the site behind us. We were aware there was a site behind us. We weren't happy about this seeing this is where she placed us, and we were not opposed to moving the RV either. But, this would mean cutting into the covered deck to accommodate the slides (which she was aware of). It was challenging to work through this with her seeing the correspondence was primarily email, and we could not get her to participate in a call. Owner sent a final email notifying us, she would not renew the agreement. Followed by a 30 Day Notice to Vacate. We did not cause any issues. We paid on time, were quiet, kept the site and surrounding area maintained, and followed all the rules. We asked her to reimburse us for a portion of the monies we spent to improve the site. She declined. Before we had fully vacated the site, and before our move out date, someone else was moving in, and she had rented it to them for a $1000 more a year than we were paying. BEWARE: The owner is only on site to collect the rent. There is no campground management on premise. Expect contract workers for Blue Ridge Electric to fill the campground at least three times a year, they come & go at all hours, and can get loud at night. - Beauty n The Beast
Aug 2018 - $50.00
Most of the sites are used by annual residents. They are tucked into a hillside going down to the lake. Older rigs that have obviously been there quite a while, would be a real challenge to move them. plenty of shade trees, very little grass. The only sites available to rent are a long way from the lake, and they all look a little shoddy. The entire place, maybe 100 sites are maintained by one guy, a really nice, helpful guy, but way more then he should be doing. no wifi, no cable, one dumpster for garbage 1/4 mile away. The place just needs some cleaning up, general maintenance. - Gerry9
Apr 2009 - $1.00
Keowee Falls RV park has an amazing view of lake Keowee and includes boat storage for enjoying the natural resource! The management was nice and they have playgrounds set up for the kids. There are several walking trails and a gazebo towards the front of the park. The website has several images and a video that pretty much sums up the campgrounds. - Ronnie Hughey
Jul 2018 - $47.00
This is our 5th stay at this fabulous RV Park. Big open sites, very easy to navigate, good grass between sites, lovely staff, clean restrooms/showers, picnic table, large pool, grounds well tended, trash collection, excellent wifi. The park is on beautiful Lake Keowee. Peaceful and brilliant night skies. We certainly recommend. - Harris England
Jun 2018 - $54.00
Park sits on a hill over looking a nice lake. Roads are paved and pull through pads are gravel, long, level and spacious and with a picnic table. There are no trees. Our campsite was close to lake so view was terrific. Wifi was slow. Park has docks and boat ramp. - Tom Willing
Sep 2017 - $50.00
Short, sweet and to the point: We'll be back! Beautiful campground on Lake Hartwell. Easy to navigate with our 45'. This place was really nice, clean, spacious, great hook-up, lots of water pressure, internet was also good. The site we had was quite level. In fact, all the sites looked good and level. Driving in and out was easy and had more than ample room to navigate. - Full_Timers_2017
Aug 2017 - $28.00
Very nice County owned campground. Lots of children, dogs and various types of boats. We had a site on top of the hill with great views on the lake. we camped 3 nights in a 30' Class C. - Hey You
Apr 2017 - $30.00
This park was completely redone over the winter 2016-2017 and re-opened April 2017. All new 20-30-50 Amp power pedestals and hose bibs. All of the RV sites have been graded and fresh gravel and crush&run added. Sites are mostly level but you may need blocks or wood to get your RV completely level. All of the roads through the campground are now paved. The layout of the campground was not changed so the previous map should still be good and the map on ReserveAmerica appears to be correct. The downside of all the renovations is there is a lot of bare good ol' Carolina red clay. They have seeded all of the bare areas but it will take awhile for the grass (or weeds) to grow. Until then, if it rains (it did for us), there is a lot of red mud around. The bathhouses were not redone and are a bit dated but were clean when we were there. This will depend upon the campground hosts though since cleaning is one of their duties. There are two for the campground. This was a "shakedown" trip for us to see what we'd forgotten to put back in the trailer after the winter. We only live a few miles from the park and drive over often because it is a nice park. The day use area has two boat ramps and a group of nice concrete picnic tables on the lake. We had walked the campground several times before the renovations and what they have done is really a nice improvement. - WA4HTZ
Aug 2016 - $28.00
We stayed in a pull through, site 10. It was terrible, right on the road, could not open our awnings, no yard to sit in, put our rug out, so close to park road people ran over it, dog poop everywhere, no one picks up after their dogs, lake is pretty, close to Clemson. - Sharronak
Jun 2018 - $25.00
While this old park has been around a while, it is still in prime condition. The sites vary from asphalt covered to gravel. Wifi is nonexistent in some areas of the park so be prepared to hike, fish, or read a book. Or go to the office to keep up with your contacts via Wifi. Check-in was pleasant as the clerk was well informed and friendly. New gravel has been spread and the road is easy to navigate. Please be aware the tight curves in some sections is not for the larger rigs. The trees make backing in a challenge and some drive-through sites are a challenge for long bed trucks. All sites are well-shaded but you can hear road noise from a nearby highway. Primitive camping is private and isolated from RVs and trailers. While the office is well-stocked with those last minute items, there is a Dollar store just down the road. If you like nature you will love Oconee State Park. - The Old Chick
Mar 2018 - $23.00
Sites really packed in. If looking for privacy or att cell service, forget it. - Rvcmpr
Jul 2017 - $22.00
This was our first stay at this state park. The park is an older, CCC era park and has that older charm about it. While many of the buildings and bathhouses are older, they were always clean when I visited them. Many of the sites are tight and short, but workable. WiFi is available in select areas, AT&T cell service is non-existent. Rangers frequently patrolled the park and would pick-up trash at each site. Water and 30 amp service was good. My site was a little difficult to back into because of some trees. A little caution and a good spotter and it worked. The park offers numerous activities including: dancing on Fridays (summertime), miniature golf, swimming, (the lake was being re-filled following emergency repairs) several hiking trails. The park also serves as the terminus for the Foothills Trail, a 77 mile hiking trail. - dtaylor
Sep 2017 - $25.00
We stayed here Labor Day weekend. Was very hesitant at first after reading other reviews, but so glad we took a chance! This campground is wonderful! We loved it so much that we stayed the whole week and going back again this weekend! This has been one of the cleanest campgrounds we have stayed at. The bathrooms/showers are constantly cleaned throughout the day. The staff go above and beyond, keeping everything clean and safe for visitors. You can tell they really care about their park! My 4 year old granddaughter really loved the putt-putt area and beach area. We stayed in a 25 foot camper, so had no issues with site being too small. Cannot wait to return!! - CDSham
Jun 2017 - $25.00
First of all the staff is great! We had a reservation for a 44ft campsite and we only have a 30 ft motorhome. Easy fit right? Nope! Not only could we not fit on that site (site 98), we also couldn't fit on any of the other 8 or 9 sites they had available for the two nights we had made reservations for. We had to leave and go find another place to stay! The problem with this campground is that the gravel sites have not been maintained well at all. There are a lot of washout areas. The site selector is also very WRONG.....Here is what I mean...The site selector says you are getting a site that may be 40 plus feet long, but that just isn't there. If you wanna go...you need to go in advance and actually see the site. The sites we saw were also very unlevel...even to the point where if we could have fit would not be able to level up our coach. I would not recccomend this campground....but as I mentioned the staff is great! They did give us a refund. The other loop may be better but we were looking at catfish cove. - Sgarrett415
Sep 2014 - $25.00
Full disclosure - we drove through this campground but decided not to stay here. Sites are small gravel areas not well defined. Very limited sites for large rigs. Suitable for a one night stop but there are better choices in the area for longer stays. - linnemj
Jul 2017 - $6.00
We just love this place. Very quiet and secure permanent park. Children and pet friendly. A nice couple own the place. They met us there and were very professional by going over all the rules and lease. We stayed for a year and hated to go. There is a nice dock and beach area. Our power was less than $50 except in August it was around $80. The grounds were kept clean and manicured. They had gravel brought regularly while we were there. We became close with the owners because they have a camper on site that they vacation at also. Our lot was only $150 per month and believe me I've never been able to find anything decent for anywhere near their price especially with it being on the lake. I would highly recommend this park. - happy campers 2010
Jan 2010 - $40.00
The woman that owns this park is very unprofessional. She will bring her drama to your door if you allow it. She makes money off of the power and she locks the main breakers to the campground so if your power trips you have to call her and hope she answers the phone to come and flip the breaker. Also she kept the meter locked. While my stay there I found that she charges people different rates depending on how much money she thinks they have. There were several break ins while I stayed there. She never once offered to put up cameras or a gate for security. She will charge you for everything. There is lake access so of course people have boats. She will charge for "boat storage" which means your boat will be sitting by the road for everyone to see because the lots are to small for your boat to fit on the lot. She is not careful when cutting grass either. She slings rocks constantly at the campers. She will try to be your friend at first, and you will think she is a nice person but you will find out about her as time goes by..just like we did. - Football20
Oct 2018 - $28.00
Can see lake Jocasse thru the trees. Sites 41, 40, back up to water. Looked level but isn't. Asphalt. ATT ,2 bars no wifi several air tv. Grill and fire ring combo. Bathrooms good, clean. Roomy showers. Walked down behind our site on a path thru the woods to the lake, beachy area. Dump station tilts the wrong way, so our tanks didn't get throughly emptied. - 48 State Goal
Jun 2017 - $46.00
Beautiful area on the shores of Lake Jocasse. Getting there in our 37ft Motorhome was a little unsettling as the roads to the park are not exactly big rig friendly. The park itself is nice, the campground is a little tight and roads to sites are definitely not for big rigs. Sites are not the most level. We were in site 59 which was long enough for our rig and tow car. Site was clean. Didn't use bath house but took a peek - looked a little worn and like it could use some updating. We did use the laundry which was in next loop over and it was "okay" - not the cleanest facility. Since it was not in walking distance we had to take dirty clothes in car. Parked as close to laundry as we could and when we returned to our car, we had a warning ticket for parking in a lot, only 2 others cars there, that was designated for tent campers. The park needs to designate parking for those using the laundry facility. Also, upon check in, the park staff was not the friendliest. Seemed annoyed with tending to campers waiting to check in and abruptly gave us directions to camp site on park map that turned out to be inaccurate. Don't think we will camp here again mainly because of not being big rig friendly but will definitely plan a day trip to park to enjoy the beautiful lake. - Highway Honu
Aug 2016 - $25.00
This was our first time visiting this park. Built in 1990, it is one of the newest of the state parks, which to me, makes no sense why they did not add sewer connections. Overall, a very nice park and campground. All of the staff we met were very friendly and knowledgeable. The park was clean and well kept.
Park Rangers make frequent rides thru the campground. The bathhouses were mostly clean - the floors stayed wet and dirty because of rain. One bathhouse does have a laundry, which we used and everything worked as it should. We did experience a lot of heavy rain during our stay which caused our site to wash mud and water to our door.
The sites are well spaced, electric good, great water pressure. OTA TV was hit or miss. AT&T cell service and LTE was good. The park has nice paved trails that lead to the tent sites, bathhouses and lake area.
I do not believe they had/have a camp host which may account for why our fire pit looks as if it has been some time since last cleaned.
I do want to give another big thank you to the gentleman at Burrell's (?) Automotive, a few miles from the campground. We had a mechanical problem with our vehicle and he stopped what he was doing to help and get us going again.
NOTE: On weekends this park and lake both become VERY crowded! - dtaylor
Sep 2017 - $13.00
We stayed here over Labor Day weekend and enjoyed our stay. Place was deserted by Monday evening. Nice COE park, but prefer Springfield COE, which we had stayed at a couple of years ago, if in the area again. Verizon was a spotty one bar at our site and OTA tv was very limited. We had a back in site which was loose small gravel and a large separate picnic/sitting area. - jtl2
Aug 2015 - $13.00
Just another great COE park sitting on Lake Hartwell. - Bamagolfer
May 2011 - $20.00
So far I think the COE campgrounds on the Ga/SC lakes are great and this was our first stay at Coneross. We stay on the lake front. I would give them a 10 except our pull thru was in NO possible way capable of handling 45' trailer like the website said. Site #64 and #66 should not even be attempted with 30' trailers. On our site #64 you could get in but leaving would be a problem so we ended up backing into the site with our 34' trailer. - SC Upstate Camper
May 2018 - $26.00
First time to camp here but won't be our last. Beautiful lake view on many of the sites. Entire campground was SO clean and well kept. Staff could not have been friendlier! sites are mostly level unless rated for a smaller RV. I highly recommend this campground! - ScoobyD
Jul 2017 - $13.00
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Twin Lakes. Such a clean and beautiful area. The staff were amazing - always available for questions and suggestions on local hikes and attractions. We will definitely return and highly recommend it! - Meyka
Jun 2017 - $52.00
This was our second stay at the campground and once again, we loved it! Very clean, easy to navigate our 37ft motorhome in/out to site. Love the views of the lake from almost every site!!! Staff is always so friendly and helpful!!! - Highway Honu
