1 Park near Walterboro, South Carolina
Feb 2016 - $28.00
Camp ground needs some TLC, very muddy when it rains. Internet service does not work throughout the campground, need to be next to the office to ensure adequate signal.
Good for a one night stay, when travelling trough. Noise from the highway needs some getting use to. On a positive note, campground is close to highway and sites are large drive troughs. - DDugas

I reviewed this CG once before when I didn't have quite as much RV experience. Knowing what I know now, I rated the CG way too high then. We have stopped at this CG at least four times in the past 5 years going to and from FL. This year's stop will be our last. The CG seems to be deteriorating with each passing year. This year's stop came after a period of heavy rain, and while that is not the CG's fault, the lack of hard surface roads within the CG is. The mud nearly prevented us from exiting our site. My wheels began to spin and I had visions of tow trucks dancing in my head. The whole CG was sloppy wet with standing water, deep ruts, and mud holes nearly everywhere. I used the bath house and was not impressed. It's old, tired, and in need of some serious rehab (this applies to the whole CG in my opinion). I did note a new-ish 50 amp "pedestal" at our site, but the very poorly labeled breaker switch is on a breaker panel that serves several other sites. The breakers in the panel were labeled by someone scribbling with an indelible marker, and there are numerous strike-thrus, making it difficult to read. I inadvertently turned off a neighbor's electricity due to the way the panel was labeled. The 30 amp pedestal is rusted and looks like it has been there for decades. At least the analog cable system is no longer just laying on the ground which is an improvement. Given other options in the area including at least one big box store, we decided this was going to be our final stop at this CG. - USMCRET

This is a lovely clean park with super long pull thrus, tall pine trees, an enormous off leash dog park and wide flat sites with full hookups. It's conveniently located right off of 95. Good for an overnight. Only downside might be the interstate noise if you're a light sleeper. Owner was friendly and the park appeared well managed. We plan to stop over again. - Flippitti
