Nice park! Shower house, main road, service, trails, and access to river were all really nice. WIFI worked well. AT&T Cell Phone worked well. We stayed in Flight (lot) #1. It's a pull through on a relatively steep grade. It wasn't bad, but my rear stabilizer jacks wouldn't reach the ground without about 1 foot of wood blocks under them. It's still a nice site, but most of the other sites were better, but they were taken. If you're debating staying here or at the other RV parks close by, I'd choose this one any day. My only complaint is the neighbor's barking dogs...why people think it's ok to let their dogs bark all day is beyond me. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very small State Park on US-15 and the Edisto River. Paved road through the heavily wooded campground was a bit tight for longer rigs and we were unable to enter the dump area with our towed attached because of the acute angle to the entrance. Road noise was significant at our site that backed up to US-15. It did quiet down at night and we were able to get some sleep. Like every river in the East this summer the Edisto was flooding, but we enjoyed kayaking on it anyway. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We went 11 miles into Walterboro which is the nearest town to visit a drugstore and then went to Williams Seafood and Soul Food on Hampton Street to get a great takeout dinner. Lot of choices and all fresh. I went for the shrimp dinner and the wife got a fried catfish. If you're in Walterboro and you want fresh fish this is the place to go.

We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It's a small campground with 25 W/E sites. No full hook-ups. Exceptionally clean bathrooms and showers. Excellent TV and AT & T cell coverage. Water & electric worked great. Very clean dump station. Trash cans and recycling cans next to the dump station. Edisto River access runs alongside the campground. Highway runs near the campground but we didn't notice the noise. We'll stay here again. Price reflects in-state resident senior discount. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

We spent the night in our Sprinter Conversion Van. Arrived just before closing. We were met by the Camp Host (Ranger was at dinner), who help with sign in, site selection and set up along with full rundown on campground features and status. Ranger arrived and gave us a ride to office to pay and then a ride back to our site.

Main reason for posting review was the hardworking camp host and how super clean they kept the park, bathroom and showers! We'll definitely return when we have time to enjoy the kayaking. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Truck Camper.

We stopped here on an overnight on the way to Florida. It was very convenient to the highway, perhaps 3-4 miles off I-95 on good roads. There did not seem to be many stores or restaurants nearby and there is no on-site store. The camp host is very friendly and helpful and made a point to stop by and make us feel welcome. The campground is fairly small but the sites are fairly large and well laid out. Our site backed up to the river which looked like a nice place to go kayaking, canoeing or fishing. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

This quiet state park is just a few miles from I-95 and a good place to stay overnight. Restrooms/showers are dated but clean. The interior road is paved, but sites are not and are very sandy. There are lots of mature trees and plenty of shade. We received several OTA TV stations and the free WIFI worked. Our water/electric hookups were OK. We called in to reserve for one night, then when we arrived the site was not level enough for our unit. Phoned the office from the site and they happily changed us. We liked it here and found it to be good value. We would stay again. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Travel Trailer.

$20 per night was for a "little tippy" packed sand pull-though site with 30-amp electric and water. Our site, #17, was shaded by large trees. The site had a wooden picnic table and fire ring. It was pleasantly quiet during our stay. The small facility, at only 35 acres, is well maintained and very attractive. The campground host was very friendly and helpful. There are many activities available, which you can find listed on their website. The campground is near I95 but we heard no traffic noise at our site. AT&T and Verizon cell service was acceptable. There is free Wi-Fi available at the office. We received 17 digital over-the-air TV stations and many radio stations. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice state park with electric and water hookups. A dump site is available. The heavy rains this past fall caused some damage to the gravel base of the sites. We were in Site 14 which was wide and long enough for our 40' Class A and tow, but the drop from the paved road into the site was deep and rutted. Other sites are in better shape. Repairs are on-going. Park is very clean and well managed. Camp host on site. Note: if you make reservations online, there is a two night minimum purchase. If you call the park, a ranger can reserve a site for one night. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

A very friendly ranger at this park. We were on site #6,were very near highway, did not bother me, but the wife complained. Will return to this park and bring canoe with us. Very beautiful river here. Power plant just upstream has shutdown, so no noise from there. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice, quiet state park during the week. Very friendly & helpful staff/ranger. Restrooms/showers are spotless. Water and electric (no 50 amp) are good. A few nice fishing spots along the river. The campground road is even and paved, but a little winding. Sites are gravel/sand with some fairly level and others you'll need to block. Each site has a nice picnic table and fire ring with grate for grilling. Not far from I95. We would stay here again. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small park very close to I-95 very easy access. Ranger and camp host were very nice and very helpful. The campground is nice and quiet along the river - short walking trails, free use of fishing equipment and games, etc. in the park office. Sites slope a little and needs blocks to get level. Water and electric as well as TV was good. They lost 40 trees in the February ice storm, so later on in the year there is plenty of usable firewood. We would camp here again. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

Interior roads are paved. We stayed in site 25 in a 40 ft motorhome and needed minimal leveling. At least half of the sites would have accommodated us without leveling issues. Backing into site 25 worked best for me. Rangers were very friendly and helpful and keep the park, washroom, and showers very, very clean and run the park very well. We stayed 7 nights on a 7 night special and the rate shown reflects the cost including all taxes and fees. Good Verizon signal. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

Sites are level, hard packed sand. Some are a little tight for backing in. The restrooms are very clean. The park ranger is very helpful. There are hiking trails throughout the park. I camped here in a Class B. I would camp here again. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.

South Carolina State Parks provide good basics for a very reasonable price. This is a small campground a short drive from I-95. There is river access with a nice canoe/kayak dock to launch. It was a bit chilly so I didn't venture out on to the river. There is a short trail system to explore. The sites are in need of leveling. I found one reasonably level, but others had some grade and rutting to navigate. The park staff and camp host are wonderful. I did not explore the area but St George is a short drive north. Great park. We camped at Colleton State Park in a Motorhome.
