For us this was just an overnight stop. The campground is ok, stone roads and stone at the site. We had a 30/50 amp with water and cable, no sewer. That was ok with us but the price is a bit on the steep side. I am aware there is things in the area to sight see and that's all well and good, but this isn't Disney World either. I have stayed at other KOA's and some are higher than others but I have never paid this much for electric, water and cable. On the plus side the campground has a great friendly staff, that greeted us and also showed us to our site. The camp store sells all kinds of things to eat as well as other supplies. They have pizza by the slice or the whole pizza made to eat inside or delivered to your camper. They also have wine tasting at $7.50 per in the evening, as well as cold sodas and beer in the cooler for sale. Our site was clean, the electric was supposed to be 30amp and 50 amp, but I tried the 30 and it didn't work so I used the 50amp which was ok, just hate to get that monster of a cable out. Sites are in the trees but seem to be open and spacious enough. We camped at Point South KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy to get to from interstate. Nice, level sites. We had to wait a couple of minutes before pulling into our site because they were in the process of adding new gravel to the site. Interior roads are just a bit narrow but easy to manage. We camped at Point South KOA in a Motorhome.

It is right off of I-95 but we did not hear any of the road noise. The campground was the 2016 campground of the year. It is very clean and neat. Most of the camp sites are pull thru since most people are just staying for one night. The bathrooms were remodeled last year so they were nice. The office has a small store but it was very expensive. (There is a Family Dollar about 10 miles away near Hwy 17 and Hwy 21.) They have a small pizza/wing restaurant that will deliver to your camp site. (It was not too bad but very convenient while you are setting up camp. There is a small coffee shop/ wine bar that has wine sampling every night from 6:30PM-8:00PM. We really enjoyed the wine tasting but the service was a little slow because of the amount of people in the bar. They also have 2 craft beers on tap. The sites were gravel. They were clean and level. There is trash pickup at the site. There is 50/30 amp hookup and cable TV. I believe there were 64 channels. The WiFi was very good for our needs. We were not streaming movies, just checking email and Facebook. There is a pool that was very clean. There is playground, gem mining, dog park and a lake to go fishing in. There is a walking trail around the lake that is very wide and all grass. We camped at Point South KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There are a couple of neat things to do and see in the area and that is why we stayed here. We went to the drive-in theater on Friday night. It is called Hwy 21 Drive-In. One of the only ones left. $7.00 and you get a double feature. We went to the Old Sheldon Church Ruins, which is very beautiful. We went to downtown Beaufort and Hunting Island state park. We will definitely return to this campground since we had very good experience.

This KOA has excellent people and service. The office has an adorable coffee shop, The Swimming Mermaid, and pizza parlor. The owner is very hospitable. About a 30 minute drive from Beaufort, SC. We only stayed here overnight but site was clean and up to typical KOA standards. Some sites seem to be more private than others. Would ask for one of those next time. We camped at Point South KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overpriced for what you get. Perhaps might be a better park for us had it not rained so much. Generally for $55.00 you would expect something special but there is nothing special about the park or the area. Quite remote. We camped at Point South KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

EZ on-off I-95, exit 33, to get to this KOA. Staff very helpful with local sight seeing info. Café on-site Pizza was good. Heavy tree canopy, (not particularly SAT friendly but cable had good reception & channels), gravel interior rds and sites. Although KOA directory lists fishing ..Fishing pond is not kept stocked and signs warning 'alligator/alligator preserve area' near the fishing pond. We did not partake of any of the nature trails --Not sure if it was the time of year (May-early June) or if another time of year/season would have less 'biting bugs.' Otherwise, pull through site was appropriate for our type/size rig, site was level, utilities all worked fine and utility connections appropriately spaced. Several MH at 45ft w/towed were in cg while we stayed, all were able to maneuver interior roads and sites -- but with care; need to watch mature tree locations at site & interior roads. Obvious how well the on-site owners care for maintaining a clean, well-kept, campground. Very attractive plantings / statuary decorating the cg. Owner commitment to a 'clean / well-run' campground is evident as we saw LOTS of 'staff' working; staff would immediately 'show up' on any site newly vacated to clean fire ring, checking to make sure the 'pedestal breaker' is OFF, and so on. Check-in was smooth. We stayed a week. We would stay again. Many Revolutionary and Civil War sites within short driving distance to this KOA. Point South/Yemassee, SC area has local historical sites. And Beaufort, SC and Parris Island Military Base Museum are both excellent - Beaufort & Parris Island is an easy day-trip and about 25 miles from this KOA. A) Frampton Plantation and Old Sheldon Church Ruins (ca 1700s) are close to this KOA. B) Downtown Beaufort has many historical buildings to see. Only 1 historical home, Verdier House Museum, is open to the public for tours. We camped at Point South KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Beaufort streets are very narrow & parking is difficult to find. At Verdier House Museum docent about street name changes during Civil War & effect on 'legal' property owners. Museum on Parris Island has best local area history (& see excellent Marine video at Museum Theater). FYI - Parris Island Marine Base, check graduation dates (?most Fridays). Go Mon-Wed if possible; we went on a Thursday, it was crowded with families there for Friday Graduation events.

Small but clean KOA with excellent well cared for facilities. Entrance road is recently placed gravel and gravel site roads are in good condition. Sites are close as typical for a KOA but not unreasonable. Site we had was level enough for the jacks after dumping the suspension. Electric and cable connection needed all of our 25 feet of cable. Site was long enough for my 65 foot rig with tow attached but once in in the site the sewer connection would have been a stretch. Would have been fine if toad was disconnected and parked in front. TV cable service was good. Bathhouse was in excellent condition and clean. Laundry was clean and worked well. On-site pizza was a great addition and made the one night stopover a breeze. Playground was nice for the little ones. We were there on a Saturday night and the quiet hours could have used a little enforcement but by 1030 all was quiet and it didn't wake the kids. Road noise was present but I-95 is a near constant buzz and not a distraction. Train passed in early AM but didn't linger. Would definitely stay here again for a one night transit stop. We camped at Point South KOA in a Motorhome.

Arrived late, place was about to close. However, folks in the office were very nice and directed us to a spot where we would not disturb too much in our early morning departure. Kids loved spending a few relaxing moments in the pool before it closed. Enjoyed our stay and would for sure stay there again. We camped at Point South KOA in a Motorhome.

This was probably one of the best campgrounds we have every stayed at. It was on the smaller side and the sites were close together, but the staff and activities make it worth a stop. We attended the wine tasting and had a great time meeting other campers and talking with the staff. It was a great deal and introduced us to some local wines that we probably wouldn't have chosen had we not gone to the wine tasting. The staff was so friendly, we could have spent all night talking with them. Our kids enjoyed the fact that they could order pizza in the camp store and have it delivered right to the site. Everything in the campground was very well cared for and kept clean. The bathrooms were one of the cleanest we came across in the three weeks of our travels. I would highly recommend staying here for a one night stop. We camped at Point South KOA in a Motorhome.

We only had an overnight stay in this KOA so we didn't check out most amenities. The campground is easy on/off to I-95 but just far enough to to just barely hear hiway noise. The welcome in the office was extremely friendly. We were guided to our pull thru site which had great fast wifi and good cable TV service. The campsites are on dirt under trees. We would stay again. The good stuff is that the people are great, as are the services and the cleanliness of the facilities. The bad news is that the sites are dirt and the coach left dirtier inside and out than it arrived. The further bad news is the trains that run all night and are not mentioned....they are close, they are loud and they ruined our nites sleep. Won't be stopping here again on our I95 jaunts.
