We choose this park based on their web site that promoted trout ponds and a cafe. When we called the morning of our stay, we were told there was "one site available" so we reserved it. In about an hour , we received a call that due to the heat the office would be closed. We arrived around 4 PM to find everything closed including trout ponds and cafe. In addition,we were the only travelers and there were actually about 10 vacant spots. Of the 6 other sites with RVs in them, one had an occupant and the others appeared to be in storage. This place has taken an attractive natural spot and filled it with a smorgasbord of junk. The restrooms had new roofs, but looked as if they were finished off with cheap surplus materials, plus they were about two blocks from the RV sites. No cell coverage and no Wi-Fi. Although every site had a sign advising you that dogs had to be on a leash and cleaned up after, the owner, without any greeting or pleasantries, found it necessary to come and verbally give us the same instructions the minute we got there. We have often paid less and gotten far more, so we would not stay here again. We camped at Trout Haven Resort in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Wonderful little roadside campground in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. This campground is family owned and operated. Staff is helpful and friendly. Stocked ponds with good fishing. They will even cook and clean your fish for you. ATV riding right out of the park on majestic forest trails. ATV rentals and tours were available. Trout Haven also offers 7 camping cabins quaintly decorated in a lodge style, and two tepees This resort is very family friendly and even has a bounce house for the kids. The food in the restaurant is awesome! We rated this resort a seven due to no pool, poor Wi-Fi connectivity, no TV, no cell phone service, and out dated restroom facilities. If you are seeking a low tech escape with awesome ATV riding this is your place! Trout Haven is near Deadwood, Rapid City, and all other Black Hills attractions. If you have kids, we highly recommend Old MacDonald's Farm, Bear Country, Story Book Island, and the President's Slide. We camped at Trout Haven Resort in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
