3 Parks near Canistota, South Dakota
May 2016 - $19.00
We stayed here one night while enroute to Yellowstone. We arrived on Monday to find the park virtually all to ourselves. The office rangers let us pick a site from their map and we chose one on the lake shore. It was electric only. There is a potable water faucet at the the dump station. The site was beautiful and peaceful. We took nice walks along the shore road. The scenery was magnificent. I would come here again and again. Only complaint is they charged a park entrance fee along with the camping fee. I'm not used to that in state parks back east. - Tidy Boy
Jul 2015 - $19.00
This park is a gem just outside of Sioux Falls. Beautiful sites and picturesque lake. We camped in the East campground. Lake is very busy on weekends but great for people watching. - Glory Bee
Jun 2015 - $30.00
Nice view, we were right on the lake. So windy it would have been unsafe in a pop up. Stretched out facility so bathrooms far away if you need them. Expensive for what we got - you have to get a one week "pass" plus the usual fee. Staff very helpful in choosing site. Ask about wind if you are not in a hard sided camper. Better value if you stay more than one night. - rudyhehn
Aug 2016 - $34.00
Easy on and off I-90, only 1.5 miles off. Office made check in easy and quick. Site was large and level. The park is very clean and well maintained. Only reason for the 9 was the odor from the "water shed lagoon". Verizon service, along with Direct tv was very good. There is some local traffic noise which usually subsides in the evening. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. - Full timer with dogs

We dealt with the two very nice ladies that own/run the park and found them delightful.
The park is clean and beautiful with wide gravel roadways and sites, separated by a lot of grass and very nicely landscaped. The WiFi worked very well.
The small store in the office was not where you went to stock up the RV, but the collection of "collectibles" was fascinating. From old tools to antique postcards! I even found a Ford-script combination wrench that Ford used to include with every car when they were selling the Model A 80+ years ago.
This park is a wonderful place to stop along I-90, or a place to stay a few days. - BillLee
Jul 2016 - $34.00
Our 3rd summer to stop here, a planned two-day stay turned into two weeks due to unexpected repairs on our motorhome. Lovely and helpful ladies in the office. They were full most of the time but managed to find us a shady site. We now consider this park our "home park" in SD. Beautiful well maintained grounds, good wifi for email and news, great water pressure. Sites are long and wide. We had a 50 amp pull thru that was level. Big rig friendly. They recycle. The wastewater lagoon will sort of stink when the wind shifts but we only noticed it twice during our two weeks there. Always a great stay. We'll definitely return. - Flippitti
Aug 2015 - $15.00
$15 water and electricity. Reservations can be made but not necessary. Honor system with envelopes at shower house. Fireworks available as well there $5 for 5 nice large pieces. Pull thrus available, level sites, have shared electric peds so double check which side you pull in through. Use of community pool right by sites as well. Pretty shade setting, excellent little gem not far off the highway. - rob4mepls
Sep 2013 - $15.00
Very long, level, pull thru sites. Dependable water/electric. Quiet during the day and during the week, but the road in front (Clark Street) seems to be the local drag strip at night. Only 2 channels on antenna. No problem with my Verizon hotspot or cell phone service though. It would be even nicer if they closed State Street between River Road and 1st Avenue to give the campers a little more privacy. Nothing like having cars zipping past your back window! And nothing except the campsites accesses that section of the road. That being said, we would stop here again. - PennyPA
Sep 2012 - $15.00
Montrose has no gas stations or restaurants we could find open. Park has gravel roads & sites with grass between the sites. We took a pull through that was very long. Rooftop dish worked fine, Sprint cell & hotspot was slow in roaming mode but worked. No Wi-Fi, basic park with a dump station. 30 amp power and water at our site was fine. Only one other RV was here. 5 or 6 long pull throughs, rest are back ins. Good for overnight stop, about 4 miles off I-90. Place your $15 in a drop box on exterior bathroom wall. - big greg
