The park is quiet. Spaces are a little close together. Looks like the place is in transition as there is construction on new lots nearby. The construction was not at all noticable. The pool is small. Play area is fine. Looks to be a great place to tent camp. The best thing about this RV park is the Buffalo theater at the park. We saw The Potter Family and they were amazing! The little snack bar at the theatre serves pizza, hot dogs and popcorn and has a full bar. You can walk a little bit to a nice steak restaurant. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is very family oriented with a swimming pool, train, minature golf, basketball court, and music venue for the evenings. It was a beautiful park with good views of the mountains surrounding. The parking is a bit tight at sites. We had to ask our neighbor to pull their truck up so we could get out the morning we left. Bigger vehicles make for pretty tight exiting. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We traveled to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, The Badlands, and want to go back as there is so much to see in this area. Traveled through the Windcave National Park and definitely want to come back to go through the park.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here 5 nights. Overall, the park is nice and the staff was very friendly. The new showers were the best of any campground we have stayed at. The laundry is housed in the same building and since we had been on the road more than a week prior, we needed to use it. We did feel that the laundry was a bit expensive. If staying here again, I would look for another option for laundry. We were also put way down on the opposite end of the lots, with many empty spaces in between. This put us farthest away from the showers and beside a poorly maintained, old RV that appeared to be permanent, but being at that spot also gave us a delightful morning and evening view of the many deer that are around the park. We would stay here again. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Previously, this was a "Flintstones" camp resort. The new owner has big expansion plans and this resort should be much better in a year or two. The new restroom and bathhouse is very good. The pool is small but fine. The people were very helpful to me and went out of their way to accommodate my needs. Primary negatives are the current sites are very close together and the wifi was poor. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Custer is a very good location for a Black Hills vacation. Buffalo Ridge is well located in Custer. If you make the trip out to the Badlands then make sure you finish in time to tour the Minuteman missile silo (which means get there before 3 pm). If you want the tour, you need to sign up beforehand--sometimes as long as two weeks.

They own 70 acres of land but the cram the RV spaces in the back. All RV site are significantly sloped. Bring lots of blocks (at least 6"). WiFi is terrible. Signal is strong, but not enough bandwidth. Grounds are beautiful. Close to town. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Park is in a very good location but nothing special. We have a 40' motorhome and were parked along with other big rigs in a row that sloped to the front quite a bit so bring blocks for your tires. Sites are very close together. They have a mini golf course but it was very small and not in good shape at all so we never even used it. The best part of our stay was the almost 50% discount on tickets for the Buffalo Ridge theater. The 4 shows there were great. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

We camped here with our daughter, her husband, and their 1- and 3-year old children because the reviews indicate how "kid friendly" it is, and those reviewers were right. What is not emphasized is what a nice park this is for adults as well. As mentioned by others, this used to be a "Flintstone Bedrock" park and you will find that many search engines and gps devices have not been updated to reflect the new name. The sites are all pull-through and, although a little close to the sites beside you, there is nice vegetation between each and you'll have no problem putting out slides and awnings. There are fire rings placed in the general areas around the park and at the tent sites and sleeping cabins, but none in the RV area. The bath house restrooms and showers are remarkably clean and well maintained which is no surprise as they are cleaned twice a day, seven days a week. You can place your trash out behind your camper in the morning and a truck will pick it up at 10:00 a.m. All of the RV sites are a crushed stone and very level. Entrance and egress were easy. My EMS indicated that our 50-amp power was steady at around 120 volts. Water pressure was not great, but fine for showering. Our adult children stayed in one of the sleeper cabins, and it was exactly that: Bunk beds, a ceiling light, electric fan and a space heater. That's it. No water or toilet. I.e., a permanent tent. So be aware of that if you are camping with non-RV friends. They are located near the bath house and have individual fire rings. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Buffalo Ridge Theater is on site and has entertainment every night. We chose to attend the Magic Show, thinking it would be entertaining for the little kids with us, but not expecting much for adults. We were pleasantly surprised that, despite being in little Custer, S.D., the show was very professional, captivating, and left us adults pondering how on earth they performed some of the tricks. I highly recommend it.

We are local Custer residents and chose to try out this new campground about 1 mile from our home :-) This campground used to be the old Flintstones amusement park campground and the new owners have done a great job of cleaning things up and improving the place. We were told that the 5 year plan for this campground is to add more "premium" RV sites with concrete pads, more activities for the kids, another new bathhouse, and possibly a hotel near the front of the complex.

Front desk folks were very friendly and helpful and my kids LOVED the free popcorn. Small mini-golf course that was only $1 for unlimited play and the pool, while old, was clean. Beautiful setting within walking distance to the fabulous downtown Custer area. RV sites are all pull thru, full hookups, gravel and somewhat close together but that's pretty much the norm for the Black Hills.

Campground encompasses 70 acres with lots of open space. The large playground that was once part of Flintstones remains and the kids had a great time playing on it. The train wasn't running for the season yet, but that would be another fun activity for the kids. Overall a very nice campground and I expect over the next few years as improvements are made, the word will get out that this is the campground to stay at when visiting the Black Hills and Custer! We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Must see Custer State Park, Needles highway, Iron Mountain Rd, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, 1880 train in Hill City, and many other activities in the Black Hills!

Oh, and don't forget dinner at the famous Black Hills Burger and Bun, may be a bit of a wait but well worth it....awesome burgers!

A very large park on the edge of the town of Custer, SD. This park was formerly called Flintstone Bedrock City Campground and I think because of change of ownership that's why lack of reviews. Allstays still has them listed under Flintstone. We have a full hookup, pull through site with everything but cable. The park consists of lots of green space surrounded by pine trees and mountains in the background. The park still maintains some of the Flintstone motif that kids will love. 4 bars with Verizon but WiFi strong. Would definitely return. Office personnel very accommodating. What a beautiful setting! Used to be the Flintstones Park, so was disappointed to find out it was now closed. We loved the views of the surrounding mountains from the campground. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Will camp here again! We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
