The park was pretty empty of RV's, although there were a number of tent campers prior to the Sturgis rally. Sites were back-in and roomy enough but the parking area for tow vehicles is across a road, which was very muddy after rain and remained that way for the 3 days we stayed. There is no cable tv but we were able to get 4 channels over the air. WiFi was problematic (Hughesnet) which worked okay in the early morning but disconnected often at night (clouds?). (The manager warned us in advance that this could be the case.) Sites with WiFi were close to the road and were very noisy due to the large number of motorcycles traveling to the rally. Restrooms and showers were very clean but we'll look for another place to stay, next time we're in the area. We camped at Wild Bills Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to see and do in Deadwood but would advise to pick a time after or several weeks before the Sturgis rally.

i think this park is a well kept secret! The reason I think that.....it is empty and the other parks Around here are all full. It is centrally located between Deadwood, Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse.
It has a restaurant/bar at the entrance. Below that is the campground. You are off the main road and are looking at trees. It is rather charming. When you enter there is some equipment that makes it looks a bit trashy....but you go beyond that and it is lovely.
The other campgrounds that we saw while driving where in an campground without trees and close together. I like this campground. We stayed four night. We camped at Wild Bills Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here the week before Sturgis Bike Week. The campground was only 1/3 to 1/2 full for the 5 days we were here. This campground was very quiet even though it is located right beside highway SD 385. The showers and bathrooms were very clean. The laundry area was clean and the machines worked well for us. The Wi-Fi worked very good from our campsite. The landscaping was neat and the grass was kept cut. Some of the tent sites had a shelter and electric available at the site. There seemed to be plenty of room between each site and the roadway within the campground. The roadway is dirt and gravel with no sharp bends for even the longest of rigs. There is a restaurant/saloon combined with the campground office. They closed by 10:00 on the weekends and were closed when we arrived back at the campground at 9:30 on Monday night. Hence no loud music or other distractions at night. If you are in the area to go 4x4 wheeling or quad/ side by side, trail riding in the National Forest, you can do so right from the campground. Quads never need to even go on the road to access the trails & Jeeps or other 4x4 road legal vehicles can do so with out ever going off the dirt roads to access some minor or difficult trails. There is a gas station about 1/4 mile south of the campground that has a convenience store/gas/& air. We stayed here in a tent, but would have no problem bringing our motor home here if were ever in the area again. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Wild Bills Campground in a Tent.
