We stayed at Creekside during the last days of September. The sites were easy to get to, were level and spacious. The services were very good IE: the water pressure, electric and sewer hookup. The lady that runs the resort came and visited us the day we arrived and gave us info on the surrounding areas, asked if we needed anything and even came back on our last day and thanked us for staying at her resort. It is a PA park, but the discount was only for one night. The other nights were the regular price of $40.00. We would definitely stay here again. It is very convenient to all the things to see and do in the Black Hills. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small park along the highway that is a reasonable value and not overpriced like so many in the area. The grounds are well cared for as each site has nice grass between you and the adjacent neighbor. Picked up satellite TV easily. We could walk the dog directly behind the rig along a winding creek. Despite being close to the road, the noise was not an issue except for the occasional noisy motorcycle. The location is well positioned for Black Hills activities. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

SO much to see in the Black Hills, yet people opt for a quick trip to Rushmore and gone - there is Crazy Horse, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Custer State Park (probably the finest state park in America), Badlands.... take your time!!

Best park I've stayed at on this trip from Seattle to North Dakota. It's small and simple. But it's clean and beautiful, and all the utilities work perfectly. The host/owner is a delight and very helpful. Because we have a small trailer, we stayed in the back of the park...other side of the fields and stream. It was quiet and a beautiful setting. We were by ourselves in this part of the park so our dog could run free in the fields. It would be nice to have TV, but the setting is so beautiful that we didn't miss it. The location to town (Hill City), Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer is perfect. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Seeing the Crazy Horse Memorial was impressive. It's not just about the rock carving, it's about representation of a people. The museum is fantastic and the performances and artist are excellent.

This is the only campground we've visited in the area but we are completely satisfied. The amenities are basic but there are a few goodies that come with your stay such as a pass to Mt. Rushmore and passes for the Michelson Trail. That alone saved us over $20. The park is clean, easy to get in and out of and the sites are spacey. Utility hook-ups are in a great location and there is plenty of room to park tow vehicle. A nice little creek runs through the park. There is plenty of room to walk and play with your doggy. We saw deer every night just yards from our trailer. The location of this park is perfect for exploring the local sites. It is just off US-16 so there is some noise but it is quiet at night. The owner, is super nice and supplied us with a local map and great recommendations for site seeing. Firewood is available; just ask. All-in-all, this is the perfect park for us retirees that don't need extra's. If back in the area, this will be the place we stay. No need looking anywhere else. Thanks for a great Week's stay. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Site 11, a back-in on gravel surrounded by lush grass that is lovely tended by the owner of the campground. Our door faced her vegetable gardens. We had the run of several acres of grass and field, and the George Mickelson Trail is through a gate at the back of the property. The only issues are some road noise and no showers. Passport America rate only good for first night. The location is terrific for all of the Black Hills sights. Rita is very hands-on and helpful. We'd come back for sure. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

BrGr61 in Keystone makes great burgers. The laundromat behind the Sonoco station is a little pricey but clean. Don't miss Crazy Horse and Iron Mountain Road. Rt 87 between Keystone and Pringle has great vistas and lots of buffalo on the road. Railroad Museum and CCC Museum in Hill City are worthwhile. Black Hills Tent and Awning in RC can fix any canvas problem. Mineral museum at South Dakota School of Mines was fascinating.

This is a small campground of about 15 units, very well maintained. No credit cards accepted, cash or check only. Sites have FHUs and are level. Good walking paths surround the park and a rails-to-trail hiking and bike path is adjacent to the park. WiFi is excellent. Since the park is next to 385, there is some road noise. We stayed for two weeks to have plenty of time to visit the attractions in the area. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

All the attractions: Rushmore Memorial, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway and Hill City steam train are nearby. While at Mt Rushmore, try the TJ vanilla ice cream; made from Thomas Jefferson's own recipe. In the town of Custer is the Purple Palace with a variety of home made pies. Finally there are two brew pubs in Hill City worth a visit.

The campground was very clean and well-kept, but without amenities such as a shower/bathroom or laundry facilities. Fellow campers were friendly, and we felt safe in the campground. Check ahead of time for the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally! The noise from the highway was deafening, although we cannot fault the camp owner for events outside of his/her control. We were traveling across the country on our way to Quebec, where my wife's family lives. When we made the reservations, we had no idea that this area would be deluged with bikers and the disruptive sounds of very loud motorcycles. If we had not already paid our site fees, we would have canceled and moved on. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The rate reflects a passport America Discount. I've been camping for 25 years. I'm sorry to say the road noise was the loudest I've ever experienced. Even running the AC blower in the constant run position in the motor-home did not sufficiently quiet things down. Sleeping was very difficult. The host was nice and friendly. The site was super small even for our 30 foot motor-home. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice clean little park. No amenities, so seems the $44 is a little high. They do not accept credit cards, so you have to pay by check or cash. Otherwise this park is great. The owner and workers are super nice and constantly work at keeping everything neat and clean. We were in space number 5 which gave us plenty of space with no one parked in front of us. The only reason it doesn't get a 10 is there is no cable or OTA. But it is an extremely small park with a nice creek running through it. Otherwise, you have everything you need. Beautiful view, great weather, relaxing time and amazing wifi. The owner is very accommodating. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a wonderful small RV park and it is the owner that gives it that extra special quality. Since she had just opened and there was only 1 other camper she said to pick whatever site we wanted, get setup and then she would come and go over any questions we had and collect our money (cash or check). The pull through sites had been 2 back-in sites that were turned into pull throughs so you have to decide where you want to park your rig to hook-up to 1 of the 2 hook-up stations. While we were deciding how we wanted to park the owner came to check to make sure everything was OK. Once we were setup she came over with a map of the area and made suggestions as to what we could do and see. Water and electric were good. Satellite TV reception was good as the sites are all open. Wifi was very good for an RV Park. Being as there were only a couple of us in the park might have explained the good wifi or it might just plain be very good. Park was well cared for with grass kept cut short, plenty of gravel on the sites and roads and a couple of picnic tables to choose from on the pull throughs. Pull throughs were long enough for our 38' MH and our tow while it was still attached and some room left over and were level. Width of lots was very good also. Direct access to the bike trail that runs behind the property. Location is convenient to many of the area attractions. Our rate was an early season special and is normally $40 which is still worth every penny of it and is still cheaper than other parks (part of the reason of the low rate is there are no facilities). If you are self-contained then this is the RV park to stay at when in the area. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Loved our 8 day stay here! Wish there were more places like it. We never use restrooms/showers/pool anyway so didn't miss that at all. Wonderful place to bring dogs. Nicely mowed paths around the property to walk them or play catch. Pull-through sites are plenty long for any rig. All utilities including wi-fi worked great. Good Verizon service. No trees to block our antenna. We had our choice of 3 different hook-ups and chose to face east rather than west towards the road. The owner is great and keeps it very clean. There are some older reviews about her dogs being a problem but they weren't at all during our stay. We never saw her dogs unless she was with them and they never bothered us or our dogs. Only downside is it is on Hwy 385 but it is quiet at night. Access to the Mickelson trail is at the back of the property. We would stay here again. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The shops in Hill City have some great art by local artists. The grocery store in Custer is larger and has a better selection than the one in Hill City. Great restaurants in both towns. In addition to the obvious things you must do in the area, be sure to take the 1 mile hike around Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park. It's a fairly easy hike and absolutely beautiful.

We stayed here by accident during the Sturgis Bike Rally. We were lucky to find a site. Because we have a motor home, we did not care about restrooms or showers. We really liked this small (15 sites) campground. Close to all the attractions, but not in the middle of all the rally madness. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

You are close to everything. We liked the small campground and the low price for the area. The great "Rails to Trails" walking/bike trail (excesible from the campground) is 2 miles from downtown Hill City. Since I walk every morning, this was quite a surprise.

The first night is half price for Passport America members I stayed here for 5 nights. The owner met me immediately upon arrival and helped me back in to a site at the back. This park is right on the highway. So a back site is preferable. It is close to Mt Rushmore, The Custer Memorial, The 1880 Steam Railroad, and Hill City. There is a lot to do close by. I would stay here again. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.
