What a wonderful small RV park and it is the owner that gives it that extra special quality. Since she had just opened and there was only 1 other camper she said to pick whatever site we wanted, get setup and then she would come and go over any questions we had and collect our money (cash or check). The pull through sites had been 2 back-in sites that were turned into pull throughs so you have to decide where you want to park your rig to hook-up to 1 of the 2 hook-up stations. While we were deciding how we wanted to park the owner came to check to make sure everything was OK. Once we were setup she came over with a map of the area and made suggestions as to what we could do and see. Water and electric were good. Satellite TV reception was good as the sites are all open. Wifi was very good for an RV Park. Being as there were only a couple of us in the park might have explained the good wifi or it might just plain be very good. Park was well cared for with grass kept cut short, plenty of gravel on the sites and roads and a couple of picnic tables to choose from on the pull throughs. Pull throughs were long enough for our 38' MH and our tow while it was still attached and some room left over and were level. Width of lots was very good also. Direct access to the bike trail that runs behind the property. Location is convenient to many of the area attractions. Our rate was an early season special and is normally $40 which is still worth every penny of it and is still cheaper than other parks (part of the reason of the low rate is there are no facilities). If you are self-contained then this is the RV park to stay at when in the area. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Loved our 8 day stay here! Wish there were more places like it. We never use restrooms/showers/pool anyway so didn't miss that at all. Wonderful place to bring dogs. Nicely mowed paths around the property to walk them or play catch. Pull-through sites are plenty long for any rig. All utilities including wi-fi worked great. Good Verizon service. No trees to block our antenna. We had our choice of 3 different hook-ups and chose to face east rather than west towards the road. The owner is great and keeps it very clean. There are some older reviews about her dogs being a problem but they weren't at all during our stay. We never saw her dogs unless she was with them and they never bothered us or our dogs. Only downside is it is on Hwy 385 but it is quiet at night. Access to the Mickelson trail is at the back of the property. We would stay here again. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The shops in Hill City have some great art by local artists. The grocery store in Custer is larger and has a better selection than the one in Hill City. Great restaurants in both towns. In addition to the obvious things you must do in the area, be sure to take the 1 mile hike around Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park. It's a fairly easy hike and absolutely beautiful.

We stayed here by accident during the Sturgis Bike Rally. We were lucky to find a site. Because we have a motor home, we did not care about restrooms or showers. We really liked this small (15 sites) campground. Close to all the attractions, but not in the middle of all the rally madness. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

You are close to everything. We liked the small campground and the low price for the area. The great "Rails to Trails" walking/bike trail (excesible from the campground) is 2 miles from downtown Hill City. Since I walk every morning, this was quite a surprise.

The first night is half price for Passport America members I stayed here for 5 nights. The owner met me immediately upon arrival and helped me back in to a site at the back. This park is right on the highway. So a back site is preferable. It is close to Mt Rushmore, The Custer Memorial, The 1880 Steam Railroad, and Hill City. There is a lot to do close by. I would stay here again. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for a month in late Aug/early Sep. Rate is based on monthly rate. The park owner is the nicest person. She not only keeps her small park spotless - she is super pet friendly. On several occasions when my wife and I went sightseeing, she looked in on our dog and even gave her treats and took her for walks. Who does this nowadays? Above and beyond on her customer service. When we go back to the Black Hills, we will stay here again. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It is difficult to rate this park fairly. It is clean, small and on the highway. The noise is probably the largest factor against it. It also has no shade anywhere.

But, it is close and convenient to Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park, two of the biggest reasons for coming here.

Next time, we will find a quieter, shadier park. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects one night at PA rate of $20, 5 others at regular rate of $40. Although there are no amenities or facilities, we thoroughly enjoyed this stay. The owner greeted us as soon as we pulled in and gave us time to get settled before she came back with visitor information and to collect. The grounds were very nice, lush green grass at most sites, with an easy, short trail leading to the Mickelson trail. Well located for visiting Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Keystone, Hill City, etc. Signage on the highway is hard to spot, but easy in, easy out, with level sites and good utilities. We would stay here again, even though there are no amenities--who needs them in the Black Hills, anyway? You're gone all day every day. So this is a great value. The owner was kind enough to collect our mail from the post office and deliver it while we were there. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great place to stay to see all of the national parks close by.

It's run by a lady who takes care of it well. With the full hookups, she has no shower house or rest rooms. This place is just a good place to stay with a nice rig. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The owner lady is friendly and welcoming. She and her husband live onsite and she keeps things ship shape. This little park was clean, attractive and the full hook up sites were level. It's right off Hwy 385 but it was very quiet at night. It's in a great location just a few minutes from Hill City, a convenient base for visiting all the attractions and a fun destination in itself with plenty of restaurants and shops, a good laundromat and a nice market that is open daily. The Mickelson trail runs right behind the RV park and if you're up to it, you can even walk or bike to town. We spent a week here and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is pretty small, and very close to the road. When the park is full its difficult for big rigs to maneuver. Road noise made it impossible to sit outside during the day. The owner has three dogs that run loose when she is outside. One is cranky. The owner is a nice lady, but we don't appreciate sharing our space with somebody else's dogs. We'll find a different park when we come back. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has great location to Hill City, Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park. Has all the basic full hook ups you need for a big rig and the lady (owner) is very friendly and helpful. For a big rig it is very tight to navigate in and you have to unhook your tow. Because of the way the utilities are placed you end up having to run sewer hose and power cord under the rig to the passenger side to get to the pedestal. Would stay here again mainly because of the location. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed for seven nights recently. We enjoyed many aspects of this park. Proximity to several places we wanted to visit, the meadow for walking our dogs, as well as the nearby walking, biking trail. A couple of things that could have improved our stay would be a small laundry facility. It wouldn't take a large one as this is a small park. Another thing that was bothersome was the owner's dogs are allowed to be off leash, one of them is ill mannered and enjoyed running by our site showing aggression to us by growling at us and our two leashed/tied out dogs. There are only two channels available on antenna TV in this park, so cable would be a great addition.

We loved our visit to the Black Hills so these challenges did little to dampen our spirit but there could be a few additions/ corrections to make it even better. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.
