The camp host site is not clearly marked on entering the park and there were no directions posted for choosing a site. Another camper showed me where the camp host was. She was very helpful when we found her. We paid as much for the city park as we would have at the RV park. Other city/county parks we have stayed at recently were not over $20. I don't think the free wi-fi warranted the additional $16. We were only there for one night while visiting the Corn Palace. We were able to pick up OTA channels without raising our antenna. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived around 930pm as we had rv issues, wind storm and rain that delayed us. We knew from our resv email, we were in space 3. Which you have to go through the entire park to get to it. At the top of the park by the lake....is a very dark hairpin turn. When to can't see due to not lights at all but headlights you can't tell where the edge of road is. Severe low and over hanging trees. A pine tree snaged us bad. We stopped to access trying to minimize damage to our MY. Host showed up to help. We had to unhook towed. Side of rv is scratched real bad. Gonna be a costly one. Space 3 had over hanging trees about 9 ft above. Again my MH was taking a beating. He finally offered a pull through. It only had 30 amp service but we took it. It is right at the hairpin turn. This time when we leave....we will drive onto the grass avoid trees. Trees need serious trimming. Rest of park was clean and neat. Smaller spaces in the center were all empty. Probably more renters than anything else. There is only like 2 or 3 sites that can accommodate 40ft MH. With 50 amp. A few more with only 30 amp. If I was to ever think of staying again (only if no where else is available) I would not make reservation...i would want to come and be able to pick my spot. Our soot was one of very few with no trees which let us get satellite reception. I think there is only one other that is that clear. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Motorhome.

Wow, I didn't expect a park this nice when I booked a site at a municipal park. This is a great place, right on the lake. I was in site #1 which was a 50 amp site, paved and plenty long enough for my 40 foot 5th wheel without unhooking. Good water pressure and free WiFi. Staff were friendly. There are lots of trees, too many for satellite. There are also nice hiking trails. We were only here for one night passing through but now I need to find an excuse to come back and stay longer. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for only one night so we could visit the Corn Palace. It was a good stop for us. Right on the lake, friendly and efficient management, level sites of varying sizes. Ours was a long pull through, with plenty of space for our 38' motor home and toad. Some sites were pretty close together, and designed for small rigs. Bathrooms were clean. Convenient location with easy in-out. Plenty of services nearby. We would stay here again for a night or two if passing through. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a municipal campground with roads, while easy to navigate, can be a bit tight with a few low hanging branches which high-profile rigs need to watch. Surprisingly quiet over the July 4th weekend. Manager extremely nice! We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Motorhome.

We had to move the picnic table just to be able to back into our site. There were numerous tents camping all together just across from our site and the quiet hours were not enforced. When a fifth wheel parked beside us his slides were extremely close to ours. We would not stay here again. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Motorhome.

We were here for a one nighter. We were able to remain hooked up in the long pull thru. The site was level and shaded with some grassy area and a picnic table. We used the laundry room which was clean and well priced. There was adequate cable tv which was good because there are many trees which would block our satellite. The park is directly behind a motel and so you have too look carefully to find the drive in. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

An older, well maintained park. Owners were friendly and helpful. Close to the freeway, but amazingly quiet. Sites were level and gravel. The pull-thru's were very long. Very nice. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Manager was friendly and helpful. The park is excellent. I'd stay here again. This is a city park, so it gets used by local folks too. There was traffic noise. The park is well maintained, mostly paved but some gravel sited. We got a site high above the lake, a very nice spot. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Motorhome.

The people were very nice and this was a fine campground for us to use as we passed through Mitchell. It is very convenient to local attractions. The sites are very close together, but we had enough space to sit outside. It seemed to be a very family friendly place and the bathrooms were fine. The only negative comment I would make is that quiet hours were not enforced and it was a bit loud in the campsite next to ours. We would stay again. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Lovely park on lake, convenient to the Corn Palace. Grocery store and other shopping within 1/2 mile; Walmart not far away. Basic rate is $15, with add-ons for electricity, water, sewer, cable, which brings it to $24. Cable is adequate. Could only get wi-fi by sitting outside the office (which was closed most of the time as far as I could tell), but warning: the mosquitoes will carry you away! Bring lots of bug repellent. Water pressure was poor most of the time. Only a few sites have 50 amps - we had to settle for 30 because we needed a pull-thru. Not a lot of big-rig spots. Bathrooms were clean but typical state park-type, not a lot of privacy for the showers. Didn't see the laundry. Only a few other rigs in the park, so it was very quiet. We would probably stay here again if passing through the area. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground was nicer than expected. We had site 15, which is the only one with a view of the lake. We stayed on a Monday night so it was very quiet. Nice playground for the kids. We didn't use the shower facilities because they were not very private. I would have rated this campground a 9 but there was a lot of traffic noise and the train woke me up several times during the night. We would stay here again if traveling through Mitchell. The price included water and electric, and a bundle of firewood. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

My wife and I stopped here for an overnight stay and found this place to be way too small, cramped, tight, or any other way you want to describe tiny sites and campground. The site next to us used their sewer hook-up, which we did as well, but the bad part is their sewer connection was right outside our door and next to our picnic table. The noise of the kids, cars on the road right outside the campground and ALL the bugs and the small sites made me write my first review for any campground we have ever visited. This is a place I can not and will not recommend to anyone ever. The only reason I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 is for the inexpensive $15.00 per night, $4.00 electric, $1.00 water and $1.00 sewer fees. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Travel Trailer.
