Overall nice park. Office was closed when we arrived but our reservation sheet was readily available. I have to question the electrical infrastructure of the park in that we overloaded the 30A feeding our site (our fault) and tripped a breaker. It wasn't the breaker in the RV so the next stop is the breaker on the post. Not tripped either. Had to call management to get them to reset a breaker down the line. That tells me that the campground is improperly wired. Other than that it's a convenient place to stop for the night. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. It was in the middle of Labor Day weekend when we arrived and there were 2 other people checking in at the same time but despite being very busy with a full campground the owner who checked us in was very friendly and so was the man that took us to our site. We had reserved a 50 amp full hookup site online and that was where we were placed. The site was long and level with grass between the sites. There are lots of large shade trees and we were assigned a site where we could get satellite as we had requested. If in the area again we would return. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Prehistoric Indian Village was a very interesting archaeological site and worth a visit.

We have used this campground a few times now as it is easily accessible to I90. Far enough away from the interstate so you don't hear the noise. Sites are gravel and easy to access. All sites are pull thru. Employees are friendly and helpful. All facilities are clean and well maintained. We would stay here again. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nice quiet campground. Space was easy to get into and out of. We stayed here 2 nights and was impressed by friendliness of staff. Campground is easy to locate off I-90. They do recycle and provided us with a bag for that. They picked up garbage and recycling at 10:00 each morning. Would stay here again. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean and well maintained. Man checking us in must have been having a bad day as he was rather rude. Rest of staff friendly and nice. This is a convenient place to stay to visit the Corn Palace and the Laura Ingalls Wilder things in DeSmet. Verizon and wifi worked well here. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Corn Palace is fun and the shops around it are fun. We took a drive to visit the Ingalls Homestead and then into DeSmet to see the Surveyors Cabin where the Ingalls family lived, a school where Laura taught, a school that Laura and Carrie attended and the house that Pa built.

This is not a bad campground, considering where it is. We just spent one night in order to visit the Corn Palace. It is close enough to the interstate for a little road noise. The downside is the management. We reserved a 50 amp site but when we got there they said none was available, then the next RV that pulled in got a 50 amp site. The staff member who checked us in was less than courteous and the one who parked us was downright rude and didn't have a clue about how to park an RV. The 50 amp sites are closer to the highway. We would not go back. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Motorhome.

We find KOAs to be good for one night stops along the road. As most of them this one was close to the highway, staff was friendly and it appeared well maintained, although we did not use any of the facilities. As is also the norm, spaces were tight. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Grassy, all trees, big pull-through sites on level gravel. Full hook-ups and excellent in and out access to the Interstate. Just east of Mitchell on a good 2-lane road back to town. We spent one quiet and comfortable night, and would come back anytime. Pastureland around and plenty of space for walking the dogs. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Corn Palace is beautiful and the town welcomes tourists with many attractions and good shopping/dining. There are many lovely homes to see and museums to visit as well. We'd be happy to return to the area for an extended visit. This KOA is a good one.

Price includes tax and my KOA discount. Power was very good. Water pressure was very good. The wifi was excellent at our site. Site was level and long. Park was very clean and staff were excellent. Park was quiet. Park is only 3 miles from Mitchell, so grocery shopping is very handy (Walmart, etc.) Holiday fuel station had the cheapest diesel and is a large truck stop so there is lots of room. Would stay again. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

An OK park but the $44 a night for gravel and 5 motorhomes in park total. We were told that we had the last pull thru space and reserved it on the phone. Arrived and found lots of pull thru and good sites for TV reception. Nice thing about park is the space for dogs to run and enjoy the area without many people around. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Motorhome.

This park was pretty basic. Nothing special but not bad either. Small fenced in dog walk area where you can let your dog loose for a bit while you provide supervision or company for your pet. Very close to the Corn Palace, so very convenient. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We liked this park alot. It was very hot, 107 when we got there, so we used pool, and the kids enjoyed. Level spots, nice people running Kampground, showers were very nice. Mini golf was OK. This was a good stopover in Mitchell. We would stay here again if we are this direction. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice place just off the interstate. Great place to stay if you are going to the Corn Palace, which is only a few miles away. Very clean and the management is big into recycling. Nice pool and clean showers. Would stay again. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We had a roomy, well-shaded, pull-through site which was one of many offered at this campground. This KOA is very convenient to the Corn Palace and is easy on/off of the main highway. It had a nice pool and clean laundry room as well as a playground and miniature golf for the children. We would recommend this campground for a short-term stay while seeing the nearby attractions. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
