Previous review a little harsh. Not a bad little stop between Bismarck ND and Pierre SD. An open field just off the road north of town, with sign in front. Understaffed with pay box in building. Pull up, hook up and pay $20/nite, or $10/nite Passport America rate. Bathroom & Shower in steel barn building. A little dirty around the edges, but easily cleaned up to acceptable. Water & Electric OK. Dump station across field. Pretty quiet after dark when slight highway noise settled down. Adolescents nearby riding quads and shooting fireworks, since it was the 4th of July. All in all, not a bad stop for the price. No Wi-Fi. Would stay here again. - IslandBob

It's hard to believe there are campgrounds with full hookups for $10 a night, but this one is not worth half that! Beware. We arrived after a tortuous trip over mud/sand/dirt construction throughout the main street of Herreid, to find a overgrown weed patch with faint traces of RV slots. We pulled in, slowed down to double check our eyes, and pulled out. Unfortunately, Herreid is a horrid little town right now, and this campground is representative of it. We won't slow down next time. - Meanderman

This park is ok for one night stops. It is a very plain park with no amenities. We stayed here in a fifth wheel using Passport America. There is easy access and large sites. - Davesam

This is a remote, but wonderful recreation area. Lots of sites right on the water. I am staying mid-October, so no one else in the campground! I initially chose a beautiful lake-side sight and moved due to the wind pushing a cold front in, but there were multiple sights to move to with no wind (and still on the water). I'm a bit disappointed that the water is off already (not on-site, just dump station) but it is supposed to get down to 26 F tonight. All is gravel here, so a little more rustic, which I appreciate. There is a very good steakhouse/bar within walking distance of the campground, and I had several meals there. The camp sites were mostly level, but would benefit from some light maintenance with a John Deere and a box blade. I will most definitely return next year.... - Hibby

Sites in this campground are large and well-spaced. Some have shade, while others do not. More than half the sites have a view of the lake. All sites have 50 amp electricity. Boat launch is paved and not too crowded if you want to go boating/fishing. Camp host is only here on weekends at best, so you are pretty much on your own if you need something. Verizon MiFi worked well for us as did Dish. AT&T cell coverage was pretty much non-existent. We will stay here again when we are fishing in South Dakota. - Bobbi1948

Very surprised this state recreation area (park) has not been reviewed before. Very clean and maintained state park just south of Mobridge on Lake Oahe. Several sites directly on the lake and many others have views, although ones on the lake usually do not have shade. Be aware that the listed price is $17 (with electric) but you are also charged $6/day entrance fee. Most sites suitable for large rigs. We were in #92 in our 35' Class A and a 40' could easily fit. Great for fishing, seeing historical things in area. Cons: some sites not very level, limited swimming. - BandD
Jul 2017 - $25.00
This is just a big grass field with a bunch of hookups. Everything worked. No wifi or cable or I would have given higher rating. FHU. Not a bad place for the price. - lb0456

This was an okay stop where the campsite was right next to the train track. Like 100 ft. Thankfully, the train only came through about twice a day and not during the night hours. Very dusty though there were high winds during our stay but not a lot of grass or landscaping to hold the dust down. Looks to be used mostly by folks wanting to fish on the weekend at the near by river or go to the casino. The owner was very nice and efficiently checked us in. Doubt we would stay again, but there is not much else around. We stayed 2 nights to get a feel for the local folks and few interest points. - FT Travelers3

Nice Country setting with beautiful horses nearby. If your a fisherman it's close to the river! - Divecontom
Aug 2017 - $35.00
This is a quiet park in a rural area outside of Mobridge. Nicely shaded sites with views of the Missouri River. No satellite reception due to tree cover, the owner offered us another site but we were only there for 2 nights and it wasn't worth moving. OTA stations limited to one local PBS. Camp Wifi was poor. Good signal for Verizon Phones and MiFi. Site was long and level. - Bonnie Lee
Sep 2016 - $10.00
The park is 1.1 miles east of the Bay Casino on the south side of the hwy. You will first see a wayside and the next right turn takes you to the C store, but you turn left immediately to get the pay station just past the boat ramp. West bound it will be the first left turn past the bridge.
There is 50/30 power which was just updated. Water is available at the dump station as you come into the sites. There are also some faucets in the park which everyone uses to fill their tanks. The restrooms are dated, but cleaned several times a day. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The sites are large and well maintained. Some firepits are available. Best to have reservations during the summer. Lots of seasonal tenants. Will stay here again.
If you need mobile RV repairs, highly recommend Hoff's in Mobridge 605-845-3248. - bilmo

Beautiful location and grounds, but poorly managed. We found campground via faded signs from Highway 12. We then followed paved road to where we parked motorhome in front of small office structure at entry gate. Then walked to ticket window to register. Was motioned to come inside and then told, "didn't see you"! Asked if there was site. Only have electric sites, no full hook up sites and only 30 amp. If we needed water, it was straight ahead by dump station and the only one the attendant would use as others in campground aren't drinkable. Was told they had a map of campground somewhere, but our site is down there as motioned to road. Finally found site as there are no numbers on street signs or by site. Numbers are on electric box we discovered. Electric service was marginal, site level, grass mowed, trees overgrown (not trimmed-scratched sides), garbage piled outside cans, no signage, gravel roads except for paved loop road and you can evidently park anywhere at site. - RJourney
Jun 2014 - $8.00
This is a very nice campground. Full of fisherman and their boats. Nicely kept. Very near the water for boating, fishing, and swimming in the Missouri River. It used to be run by the COE but now is managed by the local Native American tribe who run the casino near by. The sites are very roomy and our 40' RV fit well but it can get very busy on weekends and when there are fishing tournaments. Verizon was OK but not good. Mobridge is a quaint little town with two grocery stores. - rhianna
