Overall Rating:

We stay here quite often on our way south as they are one of just a handful of parks up north still open this late in the year. We hit it on their Halloween weekend. Lots of fully costumed children and half drunk adults, but still quite enjoyable for a 30 degree October evening. Nice to see all the activity and a campground catering to the locals. All hook ups were good. Campground is quite tight for big rigs towing. Probably best to unhook regardless of what they tell you at the office. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of amenities including pool, mini golf, and kids games. Some spots were a little tight, but was able to get my 42 footer in just fine. Very clean. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We were impressed at the efficiency and friendliness of this busy campground as we approached the 4th of July holiday. Our pull through was near the attractive new "cabins" (rustic looking park models I'd call them) and swimming pool. All details were attended to here from the dog park to the pizza and wings available in the take out area of the clubhouse. The laundry was older but well tended to. Great place for families, and though it is close to the interstate, we found it quiet enough. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the last KOAs open on a trip north and so has become a regular stop for us. We arrived on a Friday evening and paid for one night. Due to a winter weather advisory we went and paid for a second night the next morning. We arrived in pouring rain. The place was wet due to the rain but being largely gravel the wet was shallow and there was very little mud. They have a nice doggy park next to the pool that is big enough that even our big dog could actually run. We really appreciated that. Utilities were properly located so that it was easy to hook up and the site was nicely level. Staff were super friendly and helpful. For a KOA the sites were on the large side. It was easy to reach right off the interstate. We got a sit right behind the main building so we did not hear as much traffic noise as we have on previous stops here. it is a little higher than some KOAs but they have a frequent visitor card so you can get a free night after three stays and a weekend for free after five days. We will be going back that way on our next trip south so we will use our free weekend then. They had a nice looking kiddie park and activity area that makes me think this would be a great stop for families with kids. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for just one night on our way through, so for that kind of stay, this park worked out fine. We were greeted on arrival by a friendly staff, we were escorted to our site, and all the utilities worked well. It is convenient, right off the interstate. We were in an easy pull-through site and didn't have to detach our Jeep. Our Verizon signal was very strong here. Perfect spot for an overnight. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed in this KOA to visit Lewis and Clark sights in the Sioux City area. The park is just off I-29 so you will experience some road noise. It didn't bother us at all. We had no trouble sleeping with the windows open. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful. Staff takes good care of the facility checking each site as visitors check out to make sure that it is ready for the next person. There are trees in each site that interfered with our Direct TV signal but cable is provided for no additional fee. Decent Wifi for a campground, hard to connect on the weekends when the park was full. We had 3 bars of Verizon 4G service on phone and Jetpak. Picnic tables need some work, there are fire rings at each site. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We stayed in Sioux City to visit Lewis and Clark Historic sites. Sioux City Iowa has the Sargent Floyd Visitor Center, The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and a great bike path all of the Missouri Riverfront. Dorothy Pecault Nature Center was beautiful. The Lewis and Clark Visitor Center at Gavin's Point Dam was amazing.

Overall Rating:

Typical KOA with respect to sites. Close together with no privacy however I can say that the pull through fit our truck and rig, without requiring us to unhitch. We had no problems opening our slides. Office staff was nice. Bathhouse was clean. Property has several long term tenants that do not help with the property's value. Property was close to the intereste, but the road noise was not too bad (which was helpful as I am a light sleeper). We found this KOA to be too expensive, for what it is. The roads are gravel and the landscaping is moderate at best. The pool was small, but not too bad...however, the water was very cloudy. Some attention was needed there. The biggest frustration, was that there was an additional coast for the amenities. The pool and playground are included in your camping , but if your kids want to play putt-putt or even jump on the bounce pillow, you have to pay $10 for a wristband! $51/night (with a KOA membership discount) and you have to pay additional for family activities? For us, just not worth it. We don't be back. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights in this campground. It was early in the season so it wasn't crowded. Roads and sites are gravel with areas of grass in between. Spacing is good, sites are sufficiently long. I thought it was pricey for off season rates, thus the lower rating. Easy on and off I-29, 15 min max into Sioux City. Wifi was adequate, cable tv excellent. They have lots of activities lined up for the summer. Lots for kids to do. There is road noise, but we did not find it unpleasant. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the few campground open year round in the north this is a standard KOA with a better than usual store. We seem to always end up back here going north or south from Canada. WIFI is excellent. staff are wonderful. They have specials to encourage people to return. You can buy propane and the laundry is clean and big. Some permanent residents but it's neat and clean. A better than average KOA. Office closes at 6:00pm promptly. This KOA is in town at the edge of north Sioux City and right off the interstate so traffic and city noise is a problem. We stopped in for an overnight stay on our trip south. This is a very nice KOA and one of the few open year round this far north. There are a few year round residents which is why th park is open. We had to pay for a full service pull through because all the less expensive sites are closed this time of year. We camped at Sioux City North KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The bathroom were not heated and it took a while for hot water to get to the washroom. So run the water before you undress. Otherwise it was great. They let us leave late without any fuss of charge because we were the only overnighters and we needed to go for an oil change.

Typical of a well-run KOA. Owners are young and ambitious, making improvements to the park. All staff I met were friendly and helpful. Sites were level with room for slides, but not overly long. Lots for kids to do onsite. Some highway noise, but not too bad. Expensive, as usual for KOA, but I would come back when in this area. Good Verizon phone and internet service. $52  a bit steep for 1 night in Sioux City, SD (IMO) . Good WIFI connection and Verizon signal. Easy to find and the sites are... KOA sites. Let's squeeze them in. Sites are easy in &  out.... just narrow. Great Park for kids and family. Plenty for the kids to do. Quiet, no highway or train noise. We stayed 1 night and would stay again.
