Towed to this park after a mishap on the road. Cable tv, good wifi. Auto repair and shopping in walking distance. Good park, might have rated a little higher if not right on I-90. Constant highway noise. In my opinion, priced high for what you get. Would not stay again due to noise, but good for one night. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Al's Oasis, a shopping area about 1/4 mile. Grocery, gift shops, restaurant.

This park is right off of I-90 has a bit of road noise. Gravel sites with lots of space between sites. Park has a lot of nice trees and well maintained with a nice view of the Missouri River. The Old West Trading Post is close by and was interesting to see. The CG offers a gas/diesel coupon for 5 cents at a nearby station. We used it for just an overnight stay but would stay there again. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Great location just off the I90. Huge clean bathrooms, excellent wi-fi but only 12 cable channels. We arrived fairly early so selected our own level gravel site. Plenty of space and grass between sites with tables and fires rings. Walked 200 yards to Al's Oasis stores and restaurant. Everything is there. Discount voucher available for fuel station but we had filled prior to arriving. Stayed 1 night in 38ft motorhome on way to Rapid City and would stay here again. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

First of all, the name is just "Oasis Campground." "Al's Oasis" is a general name for this exit off the freeway. Now for my review. As you are driving along I-90, you will see signs as far back as 100 miles indicating to take exit 260. Ok, so I took exit 260. Then, I saw a sign saying, "Campground, up here then turn a block." So I did, and OOPSIE that was NOT "Oasis Campground," do NOT make that mistake. After you make the exit, turn back east on the PAVED road (not the dirt road) and you will find it. Ok, now that I got here, they were in "winter mode" already where an attendant does not come to you until 5:00 PM. Whatever.... Their brochure indicates that cable has OODLES of channels. Not any more! The owner told me that the cable company is trying to force "converter boxes" and he is fighting it. So, you only get 10 analog channels. The channels were fine on my 15 inch TV, but wouldn't even scan on my 32 inch TV. Wi-Fi worked great! However, there weren't many in the park during my stay. Rest rooms were clean and had LOTS of facilities, not just 1 or 2 for a campground like this. Laundry room was decent, $1.25 to wash, 25 cents for 10 minutes to dry. At these prices, wash ANYTHING you might have just to get caught up. Sites are grassy/ground. Some are sloped, not sure I would want a sloped one. There are some sites that are right near the freeway. Wouldn't want those sites. Spacing between sites is adequate, could be better, but adequate. There is a nice swimming pool, but it was closed when I was there. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Al's Oasis is the general area, with touristy stuff.

Large park, lots of place to walk the dog. We stayed two night to tour the area, on our way to the Black Hills. Chamberlain area is pretty location on the Missouri. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Al's Oasis has a nice restaurant and gift shop.

Second time we stayed here this year. Just use it as an overnight stop. It's easy on easy off I-90, has a nearby diesel station, restaurant and grocery store. Gravel sites a little mucky from rain this time, but no problem getting level. Cable only offers 5 stations but fine for overnight stay otherwise you can use your satellite. Wifi was fair. Stayed here in a 40' motorhome w/tow; did not disconnect. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

It would have been better if the other guests had made any attempt to control their children. They thought it was amusing to run through my site and get my dog all wound up, even though I asked them not to. It wasn't very nice to have a branch slap me in the face when I opened my door either. Other than that, everything worked fine, my site was level, and it was okay for one night. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Just O.K.

Roads and pads were gravel. Grass between sites. Sites pretty close together. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Al's Oasis was not much. The little town of Chamberlain was neat.

The campground is located next to the interstate. They had had unusual amount of rain and the roads were muddy. Not much they could do about the roads. We would not stay here again. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The area is beautiful where the interstate crossed the Missouri River. We ate at Al's also. The buffet was overpriced and the food was tough. They need some competition. Being the only place in town shows.

Our gravel pull-through site was more than long enough for our 40 ft motor home and toad but mildly unlevel side-to-side. Park was clean and well-maintained. Friendly office staff. Some tall trees but none blocked our satellite dish, however some sites may have a problem. Did not test Wi-Fi. Good Verizon signal. Good cable TV. Right next to the freeway so there was a fair amount of traffic noise. Good for an overnight stay. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Good location to stop and rest. Check in was smooth and staff was friendly. Campground is close to freeway, which produces noise within the park. Campsites are close together and campground can use some TLC. Close to Al’s Oasis Shopping center (groceries, gift shop, gas station, and diner). Verizon phone received 4G signal. DirecTV (free standing satellite) had no issue. Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. Missouri river across the highway, which includes hiking trails and boating. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly hosts' displacement is contagious among guests, as everybody here is always...nice! Hosts try to make effort to stagger guests among sites if campground is not full. While the biggest feature here is probably the location (half-way across SD) do not think you're settling. It's a small campground with a large play area and a nice pool. My only complaint would be that the hookups seem to have been put in many years ago, and they could use a refreshing. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Wee stayed here one week night the first week of September. We had a full hookup pull-through site with 60+ channel cable TV. We had some difficulty leveling the RV and positioning it so that tree branches would not scrape the rig. Those are the two major flaws here--the sites are not level and the trees need to be trimmed. The utilities and Wi-Fi worked fine. The laundry and bathrooms are old but clean. The pool was refreshing after a long day. There is also playground equipment. I've misplaced the site map so I can't break down the types of sites. I think they are all full hookup with cable TV and Wi-Fi. I think there are some sites that are satellite friendly; ours was not. The roads are gravel and/or dirt as are the sites. Of the 30 sites that were occupied, most appeared to be extended stay. We were maybe one of half a dozen transients. This is a convenient stop in mid-SD, but not a great park. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Sites are large and well spaced, but the campground is fairly close to I-90 so there is a lot of highway noise. Pool and washrooms are beautiful, people are fantastic. We would stay here again. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. We camped at Al's Oasis Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
