Aug 2018 - $23.00
This is a beautiful campground and recreation area! Even as late as August the campsites are still green. We stayed in Site 13E, not the best for a motorhome as it leans to the back (I chose this site, so no downgrades to the park). It would be great in a TT or 5er with a front or center entry. Watch the sites as some aren't easy to level a MH on. Absolutely gorgeous view. Staff was friendly and concerned. Easy access. Very clean. Spacious sites. We will be back again. - Rae & Mark
Oct 2017 - $19.00
Nice off-season visit in mid-October. Only 3 campers in our loop (North). Very quiet for a family-oriented campground. - fox1621
Aug 2017 - $20.00
A very family friendly campgrounds. We arrived and our space was not yet available as South Dakota parks have checkout time at 4 PM. So we headed down by the swimming area, we could pull the trailer in and have our lunch. It was apparent that many people were enjoying swimming, fishing, and other outdoor activities. The park will loan equipment for various games and the boat launch rents out kayaks canoes and paddleboats.
Our site for our travel trailer was spacious and we were able to secure two sites so that our son and his family could set up their tent right next to us. The one concern we had throughout was that the vault toilet locations let out a terrible odor, and could affect us in various times depending which way the wind was blowing. The restroom was basically clean though a little upgrading wouldn't hurt.
We camped in the west campground so that we would be comfortably near the beach for our granddaughters. Each site had picnic table and fire pit and electric hook up. The dump station and water fill station are easily located on your way in or out. There was no Wi-Fi on site, nor did we try over the air television connectivity to know its availability.
Many lovely hiking trails. Wildflowers abound and as to waterfront views. The park is about a half hour outside of Sioux Falls to be able to enjoy the activities available there. There is a grocery store in Hartford and a small efficiency store in the local town. You are definitely out in the country at this site but it is beautifully quiet, allowing for great campfires and night sky pleasure.
The couple who is hosting the campground are totally diligent about keeping it clean. If only some of the campers would be more considerate, especially with cigarette butts and from what I hear water balloons. There are numerous flies at this time a year so if you're going to be here for a long period time, set up your screened in room. - John-Jean
Sep 2018 - $38.00
This was in a good location for an overnighter in our 32 fT MH. This park is clearly "residential" and the long term residents have set up well kept areas full of flower displays and decorated patios. There are no available pull through sites for travelers. Our back in site presented a challenge to get into. The bathrooms are old and in need of updating and cleaning and the power post wiring needs updating. - Fwdaj
Jun 2017 - $36.00
The staff seamed indifferent upon arrival. The overnight sites are set up facing each other with a community patio and quiet close together, no privacy what-so-ever. The sites are mixed grass and rock, had a little difficulty leveling. Lots of junk cars, etc. throughout the property. Pet area was a small patch of grass. Restrooms were clean, but toilet areas had ripped shower curtains for doors. We booked for two nights and wanted to leave pretty much right away. Won't return! - JCG
Sep 2016 - $30.00
To get to the campground I found that using Exit 73 off of I-29 is much closer and faster, and doesn't involve any dirt roads. Take Exit 73, travel west one full block on 271st Street, turn left on to 470th Avenue, continue past the airport to the first stop sign. The entrance is ahead on the left.
If you read between the lines in the directions, you will gather that the CG is close to both a municipal airport and Interstate 29. There are not many planes that use the airport, but on several days they began their take-offs around 7:00AM which was slightly disturbing. Also the Interstate is fairly close, so there is some noise from the highway, but after a day or two we hardly noticed it.
Otherwise this is a very quiet, well run facility. It was quite full when we were there and some of the rigs were close together, but we hardly knew our neighbors were there. We used the laundry, which was clean and not expensive, but not the restrooms or showers so we can't comment on those. There appeared to be many seasonals, but we didn't notice any junk sitting around that can be seen at a lot of campgrounds. During our stay, the Sioux Falls area received FIVE INCHES of rain, which was very unusual, so there was a lot of standing water and mud in the CG, but that can't be blamed on them. All-in-all, if in the area, we would not hesitate to stay here again. - Love To Travel 2
Aug 2018 - $37.00
The park is part of a truck stop, motel and RV park complex. The sites are unusual in that all sites are pull through, parallel parking to an open space. It is nice in that you do not have another camper right outside your door, but then all traffic is right along side the left side of your unit. This park is very convenient to I-29, easy on-off, but there is highway noise. Most sites are long term campers. Wifi was OK. Verizon good. For overnight this was OK. Getting fuel was easy and the price was good. - Windshift
Jul 2018 - $31.00
This campground is right next to I29. To check into campground, you go to the convenience store/gas station. It is a busy area but we slept ok. We stayed one night so it satisfied our needs. There are 38 sites & ours was full hookup. There was a cement slab with a picnic table & the lawn area was well groomed. It appeared to have a few seasonal campers and it appeared that road workers had a campers there. We called to reserve a site about 6 hours before we arrived. They were full by the time we arrived. - Kelsidy
Jun 2018 - $37.00
This park is attached to a truck stop and convenience store about 15 miles to the south of Sioux Falls. It is $10/15 less than parks in Sioux Falls and is a good value if you are only passing through. The park is nice, showers are adequate and a good laundry. All sites have lawn and trees that are fairly small but growing so shade is improving each year. Highway noise is significant, especially if you sit outside. It isn't a place I'd suggest for an extended stay but makes for a pleasant one night stop from traveling. There is a store and restaurant but no pool or other amenities. Highway access is excellent and fuel is priced below most in the area. Most sites are occupied by monthly RVs so a reservation is advised. I would stay here again. - RV Camper1
Oct 2017 - $15.00
This is a fairly unattractive park, squeezed in behind an older motel. The sites are not easy to get to; we had to back up a fairly long distance to get into our site. The hookup worked, but they were fairly decrepit and there were weeds around the site. Only 30 amp service was available. This met our objective as a place to stay overnight with water and electricity, but due to the general unattractiveness, I am not sure we would stay here again. - hoppytoad
Aug 2016 - $15.00
My site was in the grass about 6 inches away from the wall of the back of one of the motel shacks that they rented. The worst part, besides it being almost impossible to get level, was the water & electric hook up. It was behind the Trailer & on the wrong side but still even worse was that I had to look for it inside a pit that was covered by overgrown grass (3 feet tall) & had to straddle myself over this deep hole which I almost broke my leg falling into as I reached over to plug in. Also got some shirtless looking seedy people drifting out of the adjacent motel doors staring at my unit. I had to keep the shotgun close by just in case. Truly a dump! - Robert9999
May 2015 - $15.00
We came in because of the Passport America discount but promptly left. We travel full time in our RV and this was the only place we actually refused to stay. Old motel with a few RV spaces squeezed in behind. Tight drive in and worse to get out. Looks like most live here permanently. - sawdustsal
Sep 2018 - $44.00
I have no idea why this park has such poor ratings. We weren't going to stay here due to them, but we're glad we stopped. It is right off the freeway, but due to the cicadas, you don't much hear it. The sites are large, with nice grass patches between sites and lots of shade from the trees. We had no trouble whatsoever getting a signal for our satellite T.V. No complaints; would absolutely stay here again. - Tee Gysin
Jul 2018 - $50.00
This park is more expensive than it should be, given the small number of amenities. Otherwise, it is a good place. The sites are spacious; everything is clean; the self-checkin is simple and well-organized; the maintenance staff were very friendly and helpful (gave us good advice on where to get our trailer repaired locally). We were happy with everything but the price. - John A Guderian
Jun 2018 - $45.00
Great people at the front desk. If you are visiting SD to establish residency these guys know how to handle it and do a good job. Sites were nice, a lot of trees so if you want satellite be sure to let them know early as not that many good spots for reception. - Johnny xxxxx
Aug 2018 - $30.00
Started as a stop over after Fargo as we turned back south. Ended up staying 4 days. There was a fair on when we arrived so we had to park in the over flow which was perfect for us. The over flow is just a bigger field outside of the main fenced in area. The over flow has great electric and water but no sewer. Same price as full hookups but I did like being in the field away from the hustle and bustle. No reservations but they have so many open sites, we just called a few hours earlier, they said come on in and call us as you get closer. Very nice couple running the place. The fair was active up until about 10pm but it wasn't loud in the field. Verizon coverage great, a few OTA tv stations and Sat view perfect. Train came by a couple of times during the day. - FrancisandRenee
Jul 2018 - $30.00
All grass field with a gravel drive entrance and roads. When we were there, there was hardly anyone else there, so plenty of space in between sites. It's hard to say how close each coach would be if it were "full". Super nice hosts. When I called ahead I was told that they don't take reservations, just to come in and call when I get close. We did that and then again when we arrived and they met us at the gate and escorted us to our site. We chatted for quite awhile while they suggested places to eat and go and gave us a visitor's guide to help as well. Close to just about anywhere. - MarieB
Jul 2018 - $30.00
While we only spent one night here, we wouldn't hesitate to stay longer next time we're in the area. Parking areas are on grass and pads are highly recommended to avoid sinking in. Quiet area with most of the sites empty. Nice walking around the fairgrounds with the dogs. Sites are long enough for the largest of rigs and tows, but not a lot of space between sites. Luckily, the friendly host does a good job of spacing RVs so there is at least one spot between you and your neighbor. Satellite friendly and good AT&T and Verizon coverage. - Jerry and Betsy
Jul 2018 - $20.00
This is another one of those great little town parks that people seldom use. Signage to find the park could be better & sites could use some levelling attention but overall for the money very good & well worth the few mile drive away from the interstate for the quiet. - Veebyes
Jul 2018 - $20.00
Great little RV park. only 3 mi off Interstate. 30A, water hook-up. Swimming pool, playground, dump station. Definitely would stay again Can't recommend highly enough. - Tireman9
May 2018 - $20.00
The name of this park is Pioneer Park. It's on the outskirts of town. Use the city website to get directions to the park. Roads are good which ever way your GPS takes you. The sites are fairly level. The access to some are kind of funky... like having to drive over the grass to access some but they really don't mind. We really enjoyed being here. I like the feel of the town. It seemed that the whole town turned out for a baseball game. It was noisy until the game was done then the town quieted right down. - MT RVers
Oct 2018 - $35.00
We stopped in here on our way to Montana due to our vehicle breaking down. Ended up staying 2 nights and all I can say is so happy we broke down here! Owners are SUPER friendly and helpful and the park is like an oasis! Beautifully kept, nice level pull thrus and they are dog lovers which was great for us as we had 3 with us!!!! Would go back in a heartbeat!!! - Stacey Painter
Sep 2018 - $39.00
This is our second stay at this campground. Our first stay was about 4 1/2 yrs ago & it was a decent park but tired. New ownership over past month, they have revived this park & it has beautiful level sites, sites for big rigs & is quiet & just a great place to stay. I am told the pool will need renovation & hopefully will be open for 2019 season. Owners are terrific, friendly & will escort you to your site. We will stay here again. Terrific Verizon signal & be sure to let them know what type of satellite you have & they will try to accommodate. Super easy on/off from Rt 90. I wish the new owners the best success! - LMal
Aug 2018 - $35.00
Very nice staff and the grounds are well maintained. While other campgrounds call their weeds grass, this campground has very well maintained landscaping. Both grass and other plants. I would stay there again in the future. The site was very good and level. - Peter G
