Small, older campground under new ownership. New owner working very hard to bring campground up to what he wants it to be. Office entrance surrounded by gardens and very welcoming. Sites need some work but are acceptable. Pull-through, side-by-side hookups. Roads dirt and fine gravel. Restrooms very clean and well-stocked. "C-Store" just up the hill for necessities. Would return. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Stayed a week here to kinda rest and relax from being going hard for the last month. Most people are in and out in a day or two, but we enjoyed the clam peaceful setting. Owner and staff are great people, very friendly. Beautiful setting away from anything. Yes it's close to the Interstate but the noise is not a problem. WiFi worked great. A few Over-The-Air channels, but who needs it with the views around here! DON'T use GPS to get there, it will send you through town to an entrance you cant use!!! Entrance is on the east side of the Sinclair Convenience store. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Buy your groceries before you get here, nearest major stores are in Pierre, over 50 miles away. Hutch's next door has great food and a fun bar to hang in. Lots of wide open spaces for driving through the country.

Overall Rating:

I usually don't concern myself with the staff's attitudes during a stay. They should be nice and friendly etc, but the CG staff and the owner deserve special recognition. We were there over the July 4th holiday and were surprised when we and other campers were invited to a bbq rib dinner at the office by the owner and a staff member. Then the evening before our departure, a staff member brought some home made cheese cake as a going away gift! Great people! We were only going to stay for one night but ended up staying a month. Sites were decent size and all RV sites are FHU pull thru. Over the air TV was more than adequate and the free wifi was great. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The $38 posted is already Good Sam discounted. They have one row that is FHU. They charge extra $5 for sewer. You share services with your neighbor. Doesn't matter which way you pull in, you are far from hookups. If you pull in with the hookups on passenger side....the sewer is at your front door, electric is in the middle and water is at the back. If you pull in opposite, the sewer is at the back of your RV, electric in the middle and water by drivers window. Though you are not suppose to pull in that way. Neighbor was using both hose bibs because he was washing his travel trailer. When he was done he didn't disconnect it, so we did. But water just trickled. We had to use our onboard water to get pressure. We didn't bother with the sewer (though we paid $5 for it and no refunds) cause 3 slinky hoses barely made it there. We were only there for one night. The electric kept cutting off, when we asked about it, she said what do you expect out in the middle of no where with heat over 95. I said, what I paid $38 for. The office had like 8 fans going in it cause they don't have AC in it. The nicest thing the park had was a brand new playground, not sure why as no kids were there and there is nothing else there or in the area for a family to stay there for. No pet area to play. What good can I say. It was easy to find, right on highway, but didn't hear noise. Sites were pretty level. Other than the two rows, one with FHU and one with elect/water. They were full, each had about 9 spaces. The other 2 rows were 20-30 amp, no water or sewer and no one in them. When we woke at 8am, the park was 97% empty. Not sure what the 2017 posters see that they gave such high ratings but now I know why there is only one other for 2018. If we had not arrived about 1 hr before dusk, I would have just rode on and tried to find something else on the blind. We had unpaid reservations here. We would not stay here again. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is an okay stop for an overnight along our route west. We would stop again. It started pouring right as we were checking in and it poured nonstop, so we had to set up in the down pour. The site was long enough and wide enough for our slides. It's not what I would call a destination location but fine for overnight. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This has been one of our favorite parks ever. The sites are very wide, mowed grass, pretty trees and 50 amp service. Good water, sewer, good wifi and 11 channels from the tv antenna. Easy on and off the highway and road noice was not too bad. I would definitely come back here again. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is not much in Presto. If you are traveling along I-90 in central South Dakota, this is one of the best parks between Mitchell and Rapid City.

This is a laid back park run by down home owners. We arrived in a driving rain and the owner told us to pick any spot available. Picked a pull thru that required some leveling work but it all worked out in the end. Site was plenty long, gravel/dirt with some grass between. All utilities worked fine (did not try wifi as verizon was no problem). Laundry and bathrooms/showers were very clean. Not much to speak of in town (only one paved street) - a couple of service stations, a cafe and 2 saloons, one with a "casino". Convenient on/off I-90 with little highway noise. Park roads presented no problems. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Self pay station offered a cash or credit card option. There were only a handful of what appeared to be long-term residents in the park. We had our choice of long pull-throughs. The site was not particularly level but easily remedied. Restrooms, showers and laundry were very clean. Although the park is right beside the insterstate highway, noise was not an issue. Easy in and out, with a handy fuel station right next door. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We couldn't figure out why this place was so empty because it was so nice. It had trees. Not too big to be a nuisance. The bathrooms were very nice, as was the laundry room. The sites are a bit unlevel but we were able to get straightened out. The owner was very nice and helpful. Easy to get to from the interstate. Arrived early afternoon with reservations and were almost the ONLY ones there! One rig that obviously lives there, and another half dozen or so arrived before dark. HUGE park that perhaps makes their money when Sturgis has cycle times several hundred miles away. Old and run down ~~ had to call, then wait for someone to come & check us in ~~ and was afraid to walk on the deck. We camped at New Frontier RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
