We pulled in at supper time and were shown to our site by the camp host, which was great. This park is very quiet - even when full -- only distant traffic noise and no loud music or parties going on, which is great.

The kids enjoyed the pool to themselves. The whole site is on a hillside so there's some view to be had, but the roads go up and down the slope so they didn't ride their bikes very much.

If we couldn't find another campground further out of town with trees, we would stay here again.

Wifi was pretty much useless in the evenings and very slow the rest of the time. I had to go to McDonalds down the road to get some work done. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The staff are very pleasant.

The campground has obviously been allowed to run down and the new owners are renovating. The buildings have all been freshly painted. A ground crew was working the entire time we were here - replacing fencing around the pool and cleaning up broken pavement. It looks like they are preparing to repave the roads.

The sites are dirt and weeds. Each site is terraced into the hill, ugly, but reasonably level. There are trees that are dead and need to be removed. The view from the sites is lovely. You can see across the valley during the day and the city lights at night.

The WiFi is terrible. In spite of several hot spots, the bandwidth is inadequate and horribly slow. It dropped out while I was writing this review in the middle of the night and I had to start over. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We booked this park without reading the reviews. After booking we read the reviews and were concerned. When we arrived we found that the new owners have been putting a lot of work in to the place and we enjoyed it very much. Friendly, helpful owners, adequate space between RV's, beautiful view, great central location. Pool was clean. They have made real efforts to bring it up to a top notch park and we would stay there again. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Small gravel sites terraced down a hillside - no grass anywhere. Very few trees. Pleasant office staff.

Bathrooms clean but showers could use some grout cleaner (both mens and womens).

Wifi adequate depending upon number of users. I did most of my work late in the evening with no problems (however park was not full).

Sewer outlet was slightly uphill and covered with litter - had to clean it up before I could attach hose. Drained slowly because of being uphill.

Site overall was a mixture of gravel and broken asphalt on the slope. Not attractive.Price is high for no cable, adequate wifi, small "grubby" sites, no grass, no trees. Hey, but you get a view of Rapid City! Would look elsewhere before we stay again. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The campground just went through a major upgrade of their wireless in September. Where the previous owner was satisfied with just provided wireless close to the office, the signal is much better throughout the entire campground now. Assuming you keep your own hardware up to date of course. If you are using an ancient computer/Operating system then you may still have problems.

They still have limited bandwidth though, since the cable company refuses to extend data up the hill so they have to shoot their connection to a receiver in town in order to get out. On heavy fog or heavy rain the internet connection will significantly slow down or drop. I think they are too far away from the local telephone company to get DSL.

Nice sites, but many are not level. They are on a hill so just come prepared with extra supports for your leveling system. It's not insurmountable and remember that if you want a great view you need to be ready to overcome a few inconveniences. And the view is great.

The owners have a huge list of things they are wading through to fix; including releveling the really off kilter sites. All of it from many years of neglect by the previous owner; that list is daunting. While I was there they finally were able to get a plumber who found the sewage blockage and clear it. But they developed a broken water pipe somewhere which they are still trying to find the leak. With all the underlying limestone, the leak doesn't show itself on the surface. That means they have a lot of digging to do in order to find the leak.

The pool is great, they really did a lot of work to clean it up and get it working. The kids love it.

Access: this is and will always remain a challenge for larger rigs. By all means do NOT try to get to the park via I-190 and then through Rapid City.

Get off I-90 at Exit 61 (Flying J Eastern side of Rapid City) and come in via the truck route. You will thank yourself for it.

If you are using a GPS, force it to avoid going through Rapid City proper. Check a printed map first. You should never have to leave a 4 lane Highway to get to the park entrance from I-90. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here for three nights in a 26 foot TT and our site was small, tight and not level and to top it off our sewer connection was up hill. There was little or no grass and overall visual impression very poor all the sights are stacked on small terraces. The Wi-Fi didn't work we were told by the staff it would be fixed Monday today is Saturday. This park advertises Wi-Fi in big letters on their sign. The staff didn't seem to care or mind that the Wi-Fi didn't work they just said their device wouldn't connect and had to wait till Monday when the company who services it will look at the problem. This might be a common problem with this campground; one of the previous reviews that date back to 2013 had the same problem with the Wi-Fi. When we left Tuesday morning the Wi-Fi still was down. The bathrooms and restrooms are ok and were clean. I wouldn't stay here again they are way overpriced, with their cost being one of the highest in the area for full hook ups. One thing I noticed is their refund policy they will not give a refund for any reason even on reservations which should tell you the quality of the park. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this campground a week. When we arrived we found sewage seeping out of the sewer lines as someone had drilled holes in the sewer caps to attach a chain to them. We reported it, and told them we had sewer water there in our site. They suggested we wash it down. The park is pretty run down, but the new owners are trying to improve it. They have and uphill battle all the way. The sites are asphalt and not all that level. When we went to leave, we had found the sewer had backed up again due to a rainstorm the night before and it had backed up into our line. The park is on a hillside so each site is a step down from the one above it. Again the owners were notified and they called out a plumber, but it was going to be over an hour before he could come and he'd have to start higher up in the RV park and work his way down to us. We needed to get on the road, so the owner tried to help us cap off our line and carry it down to another site that wasn't backed up. It was a mess and there was sewage everywhere. Again, they commented that it just needed to be washed down. The park stunk due to their sewage problems. Owners were nice, but not worth the aggravation of the problems they were having. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our second stay at this campground. Our stay was for a week both times. We had been told they had just acquired the property in January and were in the process of making upgrades to office and other public areas. Campground itself had been well maintained, four terraced levels, each with view of the city night lights. We did note on our second visit that office/reception renovation was nearly complete. Work (with weather improved) had begun on painting fences and out buildings.

(On our second visit the campground was renovating sewer lines that had failed due to excessive rains in the area and aged lines on this visit. Hosts were apologetic and very accommodating. We were not inconvenienced and there was minimal odor.)

We are anxious to go back and see what further personal touches have done to the campground. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is under re-construction. New owners dealing with many problems from previous owner's lack of up-keep. New owners very friendly and trying very hard to make things right. Sewer system in process of being totally replaced. Sites are a little close together and some sites are difficult to pull through because of where trees are located. Pool was closed and in need of repair also.

Great location. Could be o.k. if all repairs get done. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice place to stay with a great view of the city and pretty close to Mt. Rushmore. Since I booked under the previous owner, the new owners gave me the Passport rate even though they are no longer a Passport members. They we very helpful with info about the area and with helping me with getting an important delivery from UPS.

The sites are terraced on a hillside but are reasonably level. They are gravel but well maintained. They were making improvements to the office area when we were there so things were a little messy.

If you are concerned about driving up and down hills in your rv or car you may want to look elsewhere. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

I was quite unsatisfied. The staff was unfriendly. The Wi-Fi was so bad (either not even possible to log on or very sluggish if you were lucky enough to got connected), it was one of those occasion when it'd been better to not have Wi-Fi at all. Given that the park advertises Wi-Fi as one of its amenities in big letters on their sign, this seems like a bad joke. When I mentioned the difficulties to the staff, they didn't seem to care and tried to tell me some nonsense about certain devices that wouldn't connect. The bathrooms/restrooms are ok and were clean, however when I was taking a shower, the water got cold at the end of my "washing cycle". Both of these issues, the not working Wi-Fi and insufficient supply of warm water, give you the impression that the management tries to maximize the profit by packing as much campers/RVers in the park as possible without making the necessary enhancements in the parks infrastructure to meet the demands of an increased amount of guests. This is a pity since the park itself is ok, has nice views and is considerably quiet. Could be a good park, but the way it is managed right now I wouldn't stay here again but look for some place else (which I actually did the two consecutive nights). We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Truck Camper.

We reserved a pull-through and when we got here we were told the we could have a pull- through, but it wasn't wide enough for our slides! Additionally, the 50 amp service that we reserved really was a 'weak' 50 amps and it blew out several times. Additionally, the roads are in disrepair and need a lot of work. The "terracing" causes issues in trying to park. We will never stay here again We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
