Check in was very quick. They had our Coast to Coast reservation and were off to our site in a just a couple minutes. We had a back in spot and luckily, there was open space in front of us to maneuver our 40 ft RV. RV park is very well kept even though it was extremely full. LOVED having a grass area to let the dog off leash. He loved it after being cooped up while we were on the road. Good Verizon cell and air card. We didn't realize the park was so far up the mountain. Quite a climb but it was worth it. Easy in and out of the park. Lots of room to walk the dog. We didn't use any of the amenities, like the pool, but it looked good. We'd stay here again. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with lots of rolling hills and green grassy areas between sections. The camp store is well stocked, the grounds are immaculate and the landscaping is well maintained. Only drawback was that when we arrived, the front desk had only one person and they were stuck on the phone. Took a long time to get checked in. Close to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial. Mini golf course, basketball court, tetherball and pool all clean and well maintained. Apparently during Sturgis, the large grass areas are used for tents so there are porta potties all around the area. Looks a little odd, but didn't notice bad odors. Site #16 is the best in the park. No one on our driver's side, large area behind us to sit and enjoy the piece and quiet. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Closest grocery about 15 minutes away at Walmart. Keystone and Hill City nice areas to wander around and do some souvenir shopping.

Loved this resort as a base camp for our adventures. It is close to many attractions. Park is very clean and we had a pull through site with 50 amp full hookups. It is very clean and quiet. Verizon and wifi worked well as did Dish Satellite. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Mount Rushmore at night is special. We enjoyed the Crazy Horse memorial. We especially enjoyed The Wild Horse Sanctuary and Mammoth Dig in Hot Springs. We attempted to go to the Fort Hayes Chuckwagon Dinner and it was 100* outside and hotter in the building where the dinner and show were. We ended up leaving before the show due to the heat. The 1880's train in Keystone is fun. So much to do and see here.

We arrived mid-week and were lucky enough to be able to pick our site out of a list of several. Good thing because some would have been too short. The sites here vary a lot in size. Utilities worked well. Wifi worked pretty well at our site up closer to the front. Sites are pretty level. Most have nice size grassy area between sites with table and fire pit. Verizon signal strong. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Mostly paved interior roads are in good shape. Right up there with one of the nicest parks we've stayed at. Rate is ROD. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I have read many of the comments and I just had to comment on the statements about "they seem to treat members better". This is my home park, purchased the membership, and I dread the check in as we r given a site that we don't fit or like. Then I get frustrated & must start the check in process all over again, & check sites that r available & we finally get a site we selected. As members, this is the way the check in should b-members find their own site, if not happy with the one the office assigned. I think some of the front office people do not have a clue about the sites. As for the park, it is one of the nicest parks in the area and close to all the attractions and shopping. With the exception of checking in. We love this park and the area. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Truck Camper.

Very nice park. Friendly staff, well maintained. Close to all our activities. Only negative - after logging onto the campground Internet, could not get reception at our camp site. We used our Coast-To-Coast points for the 7- days stay. We stayed in a 38' RV. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Mt. Rushmore, Bear Country, Hill City shopping, Sturgis and Deadwood

Rate reflects Coast to Coast Premier membership. We have been staying in a lot of Coast to Coast parks this summer and this by far the best. I thought we would be given a lesser spot, but that wasn't the case. We were given the biggest most spacious pull through we've ever had! The park is wonderfully maintained and everyone has been friendly. The only negative I can think of and it's minor, is the hot tub is too small and it's very heavy on the chlorine. We will for sure be back. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice "Club Membership" park. We are members and enjoyed its closeness to the attractions and price. The showers are located in the pool facilities and a separate building. The "Club House" is used for the sales presentation and is not always available. The park is well maintained, as they are trying to sell memberships. Water pressure and electric is good even with a full park. Wi-Fi at our site was good. As nice as it is, it is not worth paying the non-member price. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The grounds were immaculate. They have activities on the weekends. We had a pull-through site that was big enough for our rig, with room for our car. When we had a hard rain and found ourselves in a mud hole, told the office and within the hour had two loads of gravel on our site, which we thought was excellent. The campground has changed hands and the new owners are making many improvements which are very evident. The restrooms and showers are tiled and updated, very nice. We would definitely return when in the area. The price is for 50 amp with ROD. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The rate reflects the on line special and you have to attend a 90 minute presentation on campground membership. Regular rate is $55. The park is not bad, but not great. The sites are gravel. The roads are paved. Everything looks a bit dated. People are friendly, but there is no help getting to your site or if you need anything. The park needs attention and they seemed focused on building cabins. The lady who does the membership presentation thinks she is a stand up comedian and would starve if that were her occupation. No TV, but the WiFi is good. I would not stay here again. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Had a free 3 night stay via a promotional program from my RV dealer. Campground was extremely crowded, and sites are very close together. All hookups were at the rear of the site, which makes it a bit challenging for a 5th wheel to hook up. Had a motor home in the site directly behind mine. There was about 6' between us. A lack of parking areas for the tow vehicles made for a difficult time backing into the site. TV's were parked along the narrow access road, leaving about 1-1/2 car widths to maneuver in while backing into the site. Not my style of camping, but it was free. Other than that, the staff was friendly, the campground was clean and plenty of activities if you have children. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful, spacious membership park located close to the areas primary attractions: Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Staff is friendly. Plenty of services for members. However, nonmember transients like us who request a pull through with 50 amps and open sky for satellite reception are shunted to an area a fair distance from the park center where the sites are narrow, not very level and too far from the wifi towers to get reception. And, the price is hefty. Traffic noise from US16 not intrusive. Still, we enjoyed staying in an environment that positively reflects the beauty of the area. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Check-in was easy and staff was friendly. Good location for many attractions, but comes with a cost. There are many campgrounds to choose from in the area, and after staying here, we would probably pick another park. While checking in, we were provided a list of rules, but discovered this campground does little to enforce said rules. Very large park, which includes cabins and tent areas. Campground has large pet play area, mini golf course, and holds events for its guests. Wi-Fi was weak and not reliable. Wi-Fi only allows so many users, so we were unable to use it until other campers left the park. We complained to office a couple times, but the problem continued. DirecTV (free standing satellite) had no issue. Campground is off highway 16, but we never heard traffic within the park. Gas station is less that 1 mile from the campground, which includes diesel. Roads throughout the park are wide and easy for big rigs. Super Walmart just 20 minutes, away. Bear Country drive, Reptile Garden and Fort Hays just down the street. While here we also visited Keystone, Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park. Our price included a discount for attending a required membership meeting, and this is where our experience changed. A lady conducting the meeting made a couple scary comments; we were not able to leave the building to discuss or think about their membership, or the price goes up… but the most awful comment was made about the comment card we received during check-in. This lady states these comment cards are not considered for evaluation for non-members. It seems this campground only cares about members and if you are a non-member you will be ignored. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here with our Coast to Coast membership, so the rate was extremely reasonable. A beautiful, neat campground with lots of room at our site. Great Internet reception! Nice quiet place to stay. Was for the most part out of the wind. We are going to stay again! We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Found this park on the Internet with a special $39.95 rate for 3 nights with a mandatory 90 minute sales pitch. The park is beautiful with large pull-throughs and back-ins. Restrooms are large and clean. Pool and hot tub were heated perfectly! Plenty of activities as well as walking trail, mini golf, bikes to use, etc. Large fenced in dog park, laundry area and even a clubhouse! Sales pitch was to buy into the RV park but once told not interested, they were fine --- even got free chuck wagon dinner show coupons! Found a coupon in a local paper that advertised it for $29.95 for three night and they gave me a refund! Great place. Would definitely return and recommend!
