4 Parks near Sioux Falls, South Dakota
May 2016 - $42.00
The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars across the board is its location off the interstate. It's certainly easy off/easy on, but the highway noise is constant. There are no sites that would protect you from the sounds of trucks, day and night. That is the only negative with this park. It is clean, well kept, sites are level and roomy. The staff were ALL extremely friendly and welcoming! Campstore is well stocked, clean and bright. Nice little mini golf, playground for kids. Laundry facility was great! Loved that you just had to do 50 cents at a time for drying. Plenty of room to work in, and enough washers and dryers if camp is busy. Firepits can be rented at office. It is a journey KOA, so I suspect most campers just use it as a stopover. We would definitely stay here again. - KSAM14
May 2016 - $49.00
Staff were excellent. Very helpful. Roads and sites are gravel. Plenty of room between sites!
This KOA would get a higher rating if it wasn't so close to the interstate. The truckers are brutal, especially the ones who engine break.
Otherwise, it has everything you need. - DJanis
Oct 2015 - $49.00
Stayed overnight in a long pull-thru. The office was very helpful and polite. Site was pretty level with hookups well-placed. Gravel roads and pads with grass between. Seems a bit pricey as I arrived late and left early, not using any facilities. However, I paid for a convenient location, big rig access, and a safe area. - 42lena
May 2016 - $39.00
If this is where you want to stay, I would definitely advise making a reservation. This campground has 9 spots for drop-ins; all others are taken by pipeline crews.
West campground is old - a gravel lot with narrow sites - the gravel under the picnic table was full of weeds. The sites are so tight we didn't even open our curtains!
The south area, we were told, has been renovated and has reasonable sites but center ones are back to back, so if you have rear windows, be prepared that you might be looking into someone else's rig a few inches away.
The park has a total of 3 showers in 2 building - 1-west, 2-south. The west one (Mens) was okay if you don't mind the missing toilet tank cover, etc. The south ones (Mens) are a nice size but there's no place to put your toiletries while you shower other than on the floor. These supposedly are newly renovated - dunno how you can miss this?!
Wifi went out first night we were there - never came back on. We checked out after 2 nights.
Office lady was very "cold", showed no interest in helping resolve issues with wifi or attempt to move us from our assigned site in the west c/g to a nicer spot in the south c/g.
Noise from road was not a problem overnight, but in the morning, the people leaving for work in the noisy diesel pickups was annoying.
We would definitely not stay here again. - DCM/JMB
Nov 2015 - $39.00
Nice flat site. Asphalt and concrete. Picnic table. Good Verizon and Direct TV coverage. Felt that the park is overpriced even with the discount. Will try to stay someplace less expensive next time. - Deniselg53
Nov 2015 - $40.00
If you are looking for peace and solitude, keep looking.
If you have business or family in the area this is a good choice.
It is very noisy. The campground borders a busy free-way, I-29. There is an airport a few miles away catering to military jets which shake the camper on takeoff. - Thorfinn
Oct 2015 - $25.00
For value in Sioux Falls you can't beat this park. We stay here when in town for medical or business. The camp host escorts you to your site. Sites are level on grass with electric and water. If available, stay in a pull through near the stadium. It was reasonably quiet and away from highway noise. We never heard the train and though the airport isn't far away there were no planes during the night. It's convenient to grocery stores (Hy Vee) on 10th and Kiwanis and several restaurants on 12th Street. During the warm season don't miss the vintage Milky Way ice cream place on 12th Street. It's important to call or check the website to find out if there is an event going on and space is available. - prius10
Oct 2015 - $25.00
Rating determined primarily by value. Fairgrounds with Grass parking, water and electricity (50amp), with dump station ($0.00 fee). Some pullthrough, some back-in sites. No other amenities offered to justify the price. We had stayed in a similar setting in Ontario, Oregon, two weeks prior to this location, for $10.00. For what you get, the lesser price seems more reasonable. - SeenAll50
Sep 2015 - $21.00
Price reflects weekly rate for 50 amp FHU pull thru site. Basic park with partially paved and partially gravel roads with easy access from I-29. Sites are grass. Camp host was available and helpful. There were prairie dogs everywhere! There was train noise and some low air traffic from the nearby airport. Heavy rains caused lots of water to accumulate around us but we were able to move out without an issue. We would stay again. - BigRigTravelerUSA
May 2015 - $15.00
We came in because of the Passport America discount but promptly left. We travel full time in our RV and this was the only place we actually refused to stay. Old motel with a few RV spaces squeezed in behind. Tight drive in and worse to get out. Looks like most live here permanently. - sawdustsal
Jun 2014 - $12.00
Do not even think about stopping. Dirty disgusting. We drove in and drove out. Run down motel and run down sites. Scary - Nancy1070
May 2013 - $15.00
Beyond terrible! It was dirty and disgusting and seemed dangerous. It was so bad we didn't even stay, we drove out after a few minutes. - EmilyB
