Overall Rating:

Expensive but well worth it! Well maintained lots to do in warmer weather & convenient for Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, Deadwood and Crazy Horse monument. Huge pull thru's and a great fenced dog park (big area & split large and small). They are close to the highway but have a berm so you don't see or hear the traffic. A great place to base out of and a very beautiful park where you are not all jammed together. Shade trees are young though so expect full sun in summer. We stayed 6 nights for 290 ish. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

They do have fire rings throughout but not every site has their own.

Check out town of Deadwood for bars / reataurants and there is the start of a rail trail in town.

For groceries head to Lead they have a nice Lynn's Dakotamart.

This is the nicest RV park we have ever stayed at..everything is top notch! Clean everything and plenty of space. Lots of room to walk our dog. Centrally located to all the area has to offer. Would definetly refer and most definetly would return. Can't say enough. Would have rated higher if the scale allowed! We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

So much to do in the area. Elk Ridge was a great home base.

Third visit here so that speaks for our feelings about this park. It was jam packed on labor day weekend but after that was very pleasant. Restrooms private and clean, plus nice laundry facilities on site. A tad pricey during the Sturgis rally but I guess it is that supply and demand thing. We will be back God willing. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Many fun things in all directions. Sturgis when the rally is over is nice to visit. Great motorcycle museum there.

Definitely a bargain with off-season rates! Beautiful well-kept park with large open spaces. Concrete pads, grass, level, table at all sites. Good 50 amps. Great location with a nice view! Very enjoyable. We have stayed here before and will return even at in-season rates. Well worth it! Our non-RV friends rented a cabin and found it very comfortable. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

This is quite a place. Huge sites on cement with a small grass area. People were great. Very uncrowded this time of year, but don't think we would go near it during the Sturgis motorcycle festivities! Visited Deadwood while here. Drove up the Spearfish Canyon - beautiful! We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Located 1 mile off the interstate. This was one of the nicest RV Resorts we have ever stayed at in all of North America. Paved roads, concrete pads, multiple sewer outlets on each pad, nice grassy space between each RV site. These RV sites were not crowded at all. Heated swimming pool with separate kiddie pool area. 2 Jacuzzi pools, tennis court, golf course nearby, large fenced in off-leash dog park area, campground store and cafe. Friendly staff. Exceptional value for high quality stay. If possible, we would rate this resort a 15 on a scale of 10. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for almost a week in late June. Park was very full and the bath houses were very bad. Standing water in shower/bathrooms with wet toilet paper on floor. At first we thought the toilets had overflowed; but, no, just poor housekeeping. We went to office to complain, but others were already there with similar complaints. Unfortunately, the problem persisted all weekend. On a positive note, the grass was green, the trees have grown (although still a long ways from shady). The office staff was friendly. The gift shop is classy. The pool was perfect and it's so conveniently located to everything the Black Hills has to offer. We had a great time and love this place, but they need to correct what could be a fatal flaw. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You must visit the Booth Fish Hatchery, and the Western Heritage Museum in Spearfish....hidden gems.

That $200 per night is for Sturgis Bike Week, and a bargain compared to most of the sites in the area during Rally. This was our 3rd year here. We love the proximity to everything that's happening during Sturgis Bike Week. Easy access to the Black Hills, Devils Tower, Sturgis. Also, we are 68' on the ground with a 41' Class A and a 26' car/bike hauler behind, so the large sites are great for us. Internet service is okay most of the time but you always want better at any campground. The only thing that would make this park nicer would be some trees. But it's new and they have to grow. We love it here and will be back. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Third time we have stayed here, and the owners continue to improve it. All roads have been resealed. Tent area has been upgraded. All roads and sites are paved. Excellent cable tv and all utilities worked well. Camp store includes a very good liquor and wine selection and a cafe for lunch and breakfast (try the cinnimon rolls). Lots of dog walking areas. There are 2 off leash dog runs, but they are loaded with gopher holes (as in break a leg). We will be back. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

10 minutes to Deadwood and 20 to Spearfish Canyon.

This is the 3rd or 4th time we've stayed here. I don't think there is a bad site in the park, and although it is pricey as campgrounds go, but is worth it for all of the amenities. We like sites 109, 110, 111, and 112 which are along the south edge of the park and do not have sites adjacent to them on either side. Al of the interior roads are paved and wide, so it is easy to get into and out of. The park is about 1/2 mile off the interstate, so there is little or no interstate noise. Cable TV and Wi-Fi work well. We will stay here again. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park, great pool area with two hot tubs. All paved, very level. We enjoyed our stay and staff was very nice. Pool area closed at 9 and someone was out there at 9 to close it, other parks we have stayed in just had a policy but these guys enforced, they have a big staff, lots of young adults out to do a good, professional job. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask ah ad for a site with fire ring they are limited.

We booked our July stay in April and since we were only staying overnight, they require one night stay payment in advance we paid the off season rate. The summer rates go into effect in May. Easy on/off of hwy 90. The park is a first class, very clean and spacious campground. Many amenities and well stocked store. Roads are all paved and sites are concrete pads. Did not need levelers! Did not use restrooms or showers but based on how clean the entire park was, I'm sure the restrooms/showers are no different. Wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely stay here again! Beautiful park with spacious sites. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Very clean, well cared for with many extras: community fire pits, frisbee golf, pool, basketball courts, bikes and horseshoes are some we noticed. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.
