Have stayed her a number of times of the past few years. Improvements are being made. Roads have been resealed and remarked. Signs are upon each row showing the numbered sites on that row. There are some split rail fences along the overflow parking areas. The dead trees have been cut and some trees replanted. Seems like all picnic tables are new. Service is still excellent. Only thing that needs attention is the large number of holes in the dog park in which a running dog could break a leg (might put a pile of dirt and shovel there for the dog owners to use). We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a new service station at Exit 17 adjacent to the RV park. However it is set up primarily for automobiles. A motorhome or 5er probably could not get to the pumps. (Quite a design flaw.) If heading toward Rapid City, there is a convenient Conoco station at the Piedmont exit.

Overall Rating:

A mostly quiet campground out in the countryside between Spearfish and Sturgis. There is noticeable truck noise during the weekdays on US 85 (there's a quarry a few miles south of the campground). Good width on the asphalt access roads. Sites are mostly level concrete pads with asphalt entry and exit. Generous spacing between sites filled with grass and relatively young trees. Each site includes a picnic table on a concrete pad. Power ok, water great (110 psi), sewer ok. Note the utilities are right up against the edge of the concrete parking pad. Given the closeness of the utilities, big rigs should use extra care getting in as the concrete pad is only about 10' wide. Wifi is problematic. The campground wifi has decent signal with speed ranging from adequate to very poor (slower in the early to mid evenings as usual). Verizon was 2-3 bars with speed ranging from good to abysmal (again slow in the evening). What makes the wifi problematic is that these performance levels were with the campground only 10% to 20% full. TMobile was unavailable. No problem with satellite access, although this may change in 10 years or so as the trees mature. Cardboard recycling on site (only 1 container just north of the office). Good road bike riding within the campground and pretty decent along the shoulders of US 85 heading south from the campground. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground located a few miles east of Spearfish. Interior roads are all paved and easy to navigate. Site are concrete and level. We had some issues with the electricity at our first site, but moved after the first day and did not have any other problems. WiFi worked OK (slow when there are lots of campers in the park). Cable had a large number of channels. Both Verizon & ATT had a good signal in the park. Bathrooms & showers were great. We stayed for an entire month and so the rate reflects the monthly discount. We used this located to visit the local attractions in western South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Walmart and Safeway in Spearfish. Deadwood has casinos and other attractions about 10 miles away. Lots of other sites to visit in the Black Hills region.

Although a bit pricey, this is one of the nicest RV park we have been in, The sites are level and paved. There is good distance between the sites and that are long enough to accommodate our 40-foot RV as well as our toad. This park is in the Black Hills, near Deadwood, SD. so needless to say there is much to do in the surrounding area. Although a bit pricey, this RV park is so nice, we would stay here again. Rate reflects one week stay, pay for 6 and the 7th is free. This is one of the nicest parks we have stayed in. The grounds were clean and well-manicured. Showers were individual complete bathrooms in a larger building that also housed the laundry. The office staff was delightful, very friendly and helpful, taking their time with each guest. They had a nice gift shop, a little eating area with coffee and pastries, and some grocery staples including frozen sandwiches and a decent wine selection. We look forward to staying here again in the future. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

I rarely give a 10, there is usually a complaint to mention, normally the WiFi signal or lack of recreation. This campground is clean, well maintained and has lots of recreation (swimming pool, basketball court, tennis courts, volleyball, horse shoe, and playground). There's even a golf course across the road. The staff is friendly. They offer propane fill service. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here on our way to West Yellowstone. The campground is more like a resort than a typical campground. All of the roads are asphalt and each site is concrete with a concrete patio. Some may think it is a bit too sterile, but we really liked it. First, we our trailer was perfectly level and second with everything being either paved or grass our trailer stayed very clean. We were on a 16 day trip and this was our favorite campground in terms of amenities, cleanliness, and space. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful campground with great views in all directions. The roads and sites are the largest I have ever seen. They have a small store and a nice little restaurant for breakfast and lunch, the food was very good. The pool is very nice and the staff is very accommodating. There are a lot of campgrounds in the area, but in my opinion this is by far the nicest. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

They have a small gas station directly off route 90; however it is a little small depending on the number of people in the parking lot. There is also a Walmart 1 exit to the west off route 90. There is also an automatic truck wash off the frontage road near Tractor Supply that will fit dually trucks.

Young RV park, so trees are not large yet. We stayed only a night wished we could have stayed longer. All roads large, asphalt, sites level cement, sites spacious with table and fire ring (limited sites). Grass between sites. Back in's slanted, easy. FHU's good. There are even 3 sewer connects on most sites. Large selection of cable stations 45+. Wifi passable though park. Good Verizon, passable T-Mobile signal. All sites look satellite friendly. Good camp store (with wine). Basketball courts, large swimming pool, play ground, volley ball, horseshoes. Off leash dog park for large and small dogs. Park is large with RV and tent sites. Nice to see a RV park this nicely planned. Sites plenty large for motorhome and toad. 3 large checkin lanes. Disconnect toad at checkin or in site. Staff nice and friendly. No escort to site, but park well marked. Good gas station at exit for gassers. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. All spaces were concrete and the streets were asphalt. I had plenty of room for my truck and fifth wheel. There were a lot of cable tv channels and we had no issues with the wifi. Very close to Deadwood and there is a short sidewalk to a Dickeys BBQ. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

We have been coming here every 3 or 4 years in since 2000 or so to see if this park has finally lived up to its' reviews and cost. I still don't think it has. While the park has decent, fairly large FHU sites. I (once again) had a site the was not level and the "grass" between the sites was mostly weeds. The recreational facilities are very good, but the Wi-Fi was not reliable. The bath and laundry facilities are not adequate for a park this size. It still appears that they are charging more than "Joe average" is willing to pay. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Nice RV resort (really a resort) off the north entrance highway to the black hills. Pool and spa area are well maintained. Sites are spacious and utilities worked well. Staff was very nice and helpful. Late summer the grass areas start to dry out around the sites with a lack of rain and no sprinkler system. Resort also has basketball, tennis, and a pickelball court as well as a short nature trail. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

The rate indicated is their nightly rate before GS discount and tax. After a long drive all across SD we pulled in to the drive of this resort and found a chalkboard with our name written on, welcoming us to their property - nice touch. This resort is minutes away from I90 and adjacent to US85. The check-in was simple and the guest services receptionist was very pleasant and welcoming. The reception area is huge and also houses a well stocked store and a coffee bar. Initially we were placed in site 52 but that had an issue with low voltage so we moved to 97. The resort was probably less than 1/3 occupied so sites were not a problem. It was also nice that we were not all bunched up together but well spread out across the entire resort. All sites appear to be very level and large (90'+) concrete pads equipped with 20, 30 & 50amp power, water, cable TV (with lots of channels) and three sewer drops. As this is a fairly new resort, trees haven't yet had the time to develop and sites are in full sun. The washrooms are individual rooms equipped with sowers, toilets and a hand washing sink. They even provide those little flushable paper toilet seat covers. The bathrooms I used were always very clean and tidy. The two washroom building also house washers and dryers ($2 each) and double as a severe weather shelter. A mobile RV wash facility is on site. Despite the proximity to the roads traffic noise was very limited. They have a very good sized pool with an equally big patio area. Adult only swimming is 11:30am - 1pm. Wi-Fi is included in the cost of the stay but didn't work very well and was slow. Also needed to log in each time I switched on the laptop, although no password required. We did let staff know of a leaking water supply pipe and within minutes the Maintenance worker was there fixing it. This is a great place and I will certainly return here again. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very large park. We arrived during the week before the 4th of July weekend and park was not very full. By the end of the week it was full. The swimming pool area is huge and very nicely done. The landscaping was well done, although the grass was a little long in some areas. Lots of playground equipment. Concrete pads and blacktop roads. There are only two community bathhouses with laundry. Only two washers/dryers in each and while the bathhouse was never full, it was well used and after about 10:00 AM needed to be cleaned from so much use. A suggestion would be an additional bathhouse closer to the center of the park. This is truly an RV resort, sites are kind of close together but adequate. It is close to the interstate and very short drive to Deadwood and Sturgis. WiFi and cable were good although WiFi was very slow during peak usage. Nice patio area with picnic table. We booked on line and there was no discount offered, however when I asked, they did give us the Good Sam discount. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Deadwood is about 7 miles away, easy access to interstate. Registration area is very nice and sold wine and beer. There is a small restaurant as well; we did not eat in it. There was entertainment in the pool area at least one night. Staff was friendly and helpful, even had quarters for the laundry. I would recommend this park to anyone traveling to the Deadwood SD area. It is a little far from Mt. Rushmore, etc. however we had not intended to go there anyway.

A beautiful RV Resort. Our site was an end pull through and very spacious. Lots of room around the area to play catch with my grandson. The pools were large and well kept. The main office was large and inviting. Roads were very easy to navigate with the largest of motorhomes. We camped at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins in a Motorhome.
