The sites are very big. Room for toy hauler plus truck and a canopy for the Harley behind. Really like this park. There is a nice stream with trout in it very close walking distance from campground. Nice trail that follows the stream for walking. Not much I could say negative. Would definitely stay here for extended amount of time with so much to do near here. Only con would be some tight corners when navigating park but not bad at all. Hate giving reviews without some positive criticism and this is all I could come up with.

If you are in the back of the park they have a nice exit available to make navigating the park much easier. I would use it! We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Not our first stay at this park. Easy access from I-90. Ice cream social is a great way to meet other travelers and share stories. Ice cream is always good. We were there during heavy rain and hail storm with tornado warnings in area. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This KOA has been newly renovated this last year and the owners did an EXCELLENT job. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The Laundry was clean, well lit, and large. Although I did not use the showers I did look at them and they are as nice as any you would find in any high dollar athletic club. I will happily stay there again and I fully encourage anyone else to stay at this KOA. It is easily accessible to downtown Spearfish. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a nice KOA! Unfortunately we were parked on site-A which is a grass site behind the office where several sites are stacked one on top of the other. We had to drive the entire park to reach site-A and we had to do the same thing to depart. The exit from site-A is guarded by a large pine tree that a Big Rig cannot maneuver around! In addition, when the evening Ice Cream Social started in the office our campsite was the path to the Ice Cream! If you're driving a Big Rig tell them you do not want the grass sites behind the office. All other elements of the park worked well with the exception of the campers parked with their trucks stuck out in the roadway. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

This is the kind of KOA that sells the KOA brand. Very clean, well maintained, easy to navigate. Dog Park and a trail to walk the dog. Convenient to Hwy 90 but quiet. I like the convenience of KOA emailing me confirmations and receipts. My one negative on KOAs is the 11:00 check out. The standard for RV Parks and hotels is 12:00 so making it an hour earlier just seems unfriendly. Its not like they have to make up beds for the people checking in at 2:00 so . . . Why? The park is close to town and shopping. Safeway Supermarket --- nice change from going to Walmarts for groceries. I marked the park a 9 rather than 10 for the very bad WIFI. We were there 4 days and even when the park had lots of open spots it was hard to connect. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Great location just off if I-90. Owner/Managers were fantastic and accommodating. We arrived at dark after a long day of driving and they were closed. He still met us and escorted us to our site and even offered to help us set up. We thanked him but elected to only hook up our power and set up the next morning. The staff bent over backwards to help every way possible. The ice cream social each night was fantastic. We stayed for a week and we are definately going back. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in anywhere. The grounds are well kept and the park is really pretty. The managers are a nice couple who work hard to make this a nice place. We used the laundry which was spotless. The laundry, showers and restrooms are in a new building. Our site was spacious and easily fit our 42' Fifth Wheel and truck. The sites have picnic tables and fire ring. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This was one of the nicest RV parks on,our trip. Awesome, everything was so nice and green and well groomed. All sites were spacious and easy in and out. AND their BBQ was the best. The office is in their small restaurant and they make their own brisket etc. Make sure you stay at this park. Very friendly staff. Rates are great. Hi Ken - Thank you for the review and staying with us earlier this month. However we do not have a BBQ restaurant. I'm thinking you might have us mixed up with another stay on your trip??

We stayed at this KOA in Sept. 2016. When we extended our stay a few times, we noticed an "amenity fee" on our receipt. When we questioned this charge, we were told it was for an easement that the owners had to access a walking trail. They said KOA didn't let them increase the nightly charge, so they charge a separate "amenity fee". Which...we probably wouldn't mind, IF we were told about this when we checked in instead of a random charge that we weren't expecting. Also, we were going to do our laundry and ran into one of the owners. They said, "laundry room is coming down tomorrow." We asked if the washer and dryers were still inside and were told they weren't. We had NO idea. My husband called and spoke to the other owner and how they could do this without letting their guests know. She said something about not seeing us for a few days. They had been sending us our receipts via email...they could/should have sent an email to guests to advise that one of the amenities they had would now be gone. My husband asked if they would be taking a few dollars off of the rest of our stay. She snapped at him and said, "Obviously you've never run a campground before." With that, we had to go to the Spearfish public laundromat. And, we left the KOA and went to another RV resort. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Kim Hamilton, owner at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA responded to this review

Your 2-night reservation was extended several times to a total of 15 nights. Your rate was $10 less/nt for the 2nd half of your stay. Amenities fee ($1.90/day) also included other things like site escort & fire ring delivered to your site, daily site trash pickup, Dog Park & doggie dumpster/bags. It was clearly indicated while making your reservation. We tried to contact you, left a message & kept missing you at the office. We're exciting about our brand new restrooms/showers/laundry building which is now open! Sorry your experience here wasn't a better one!!

This is a beautiful park, it is immaculate. The owners are so friendly and helpful. Access on and off the interstate is easy. No interstate noise though. We were only here overnight on our way west, but would have loved to stay longer. If it is this pretty early in the season, it must be gorgeous in the summer. There is a nice dog park, heated pool, cabins. Lots available. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

For an end of September rate, we thought it was a bit high. The park was mostly empty yet we ended up having to pay for a cable TV -enabled site which we didn't want. We were located in the newer area due to length of our rig. Overall, clean, quiet, friendly at check in. Level sites, with comfortably distance between each rig separated with grassy areas and trees. A coat of paint on picnic table is required. Easy roads within park to maneuver. We camped at Spearfish / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
