We stayed only one night in this park. Gentleman who checked us in seemed a bit confused, and dated our receipt incorrectly. We just kept our receipts handy for proof if it would have been questioned. Sites on a nice lake; however, area available to anyone who wants to come in, so security was an issue. We were with our unit the entire time. While we did not witness anything, we couldn't help but wonder about the possibility of vandalism of equipment if left unattended. We camped at Codington County Memorial RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground has a variety of sites, ranging from long full hookup pull-throughs down to no-hookup tenting sites. This campground accepts reservations and also offers weekly and monthly rates. There are both 30 and 50 amps sites and we were charged a couple of dollars extra for a 50. Many of the sites offer great views of Lake Kampeska. The pull-through sites are near the lake, but the hookups are shared so you end up back to back and face to face with your neighbors. Considering how long the sites are, that's probably not much of an issue. Another section of full hookups are back in, shady sites, but not along the lake. That's where we stayed. Several water/electric sites are close to the lake, really, some of the nicest sites in the park. I think it would have been a piece of cake to get satellite in any of the pull-throughs, a bit tougher in the section we were in. My Verizon signal was good, offering fast data speeds. Being that the campground is around 12 miles west of I29, it's probably not a good candidate for an overnight stop for those traveling north or south on the interstate. Still, it's a pretty nice campground if it fits your travel plans. We camped at Codington County Memorial RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful Park. Gravel pull through was mostly level and very long. Lots of grass and trees. Tailgater had no problem getting sat signal. Staff was very friendly and informative. Lake was about 100 feet from coach. Very quite. Only noise was ocassional boat on the lake. Hookups were on very good condition. Paved interior roadway looked very good for bicycles. There were only three rigs in our section of the park but when we called to register a few days before arrival there were no spaces avialable for the labor day weekend. Plan ahead for holidays. Overall a great park especially for the price. We camped at Codington County Memorial RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice long pull-thru with a view of Lake Kampeska. The FHU sites were up/down so that you faced each other, which makes for "friendly neighbors" - which we had! (If you want your rig to face the lake, pay attention to the map arrows when you reserve). The area that had the FHUs didn't have any shade trees around the sites themselves (the sites that didn't have the FHUs, did), but just steps away from our site was the lake, full of trees where we dragged our chairs...ahhh, nice. Fire ring was pretty far away from the rig site, which was odd. Very level sites, and quiet. We camped at Codington County Memorial RV Park in a Motorhome.

Since this campground accepts reservations ($5), discount rates for weekly and monthly stays, and many sites have full hookups, it tends to be busier then the city park campground. This campground has every combination of hookups from dry to FHU. Water is available at the dump station. Some sections had full sun, others had partial shade and still others had full shade. They did a nice job of cutting the tree limbs on each site. The interior roads and all of the sites were on packed dirt. Most of the sites were back-in but they did have a number of “side-to-side” pull-throughs. Some sites had more then one electrical box and had shared water spigots. It really was a mixed bag. The voltage was a little on the low side, hovering around 120. Verizon air card and cell phone worked well here. There was neither Wi-Fi nor cable within the park. The bathroom/showers were old and tired looking. Functional, but not very appealing. Each bath house had 2 showers per gender. Note that Streets and Trips and Google Earth both showed the wrong location for this campground. Use these coordinates: (44.91962, -97.24364). Not sure if we would come back to this campground. We might want to stay at the City Park instead. We camped here with a 32 foot RV. We camped at Codington County Memorial RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
