Dec 2017 - $16.00
If you are looking for a quiet, friendly place to stay, this is your spot. The road in is easy to navigate and once in the park the roads are wide. The owners are super nice and check in was easy. Sites are gravel and grass, some are permanent residents but kept up. Our site was a pull through with full hook-ups, no issues and 50 amp electric. Long enough for our 37-foot Class A, tow-dolly and parking the car. Sites are a little wider than normal. There is plenty of place to walk the dog. WiFi was good and our Verizon signal was strong. We stayed December 5, 2017 and paid $16.00 a night with our Passport America discount. Cash or check only. - BarrettsHappyTrails
Jul 2017 - $16.00
This is a hidden gem. Quiet, level. Spacious, 50amp, sewer and water. Lots of places to walk. Creek running behind it and farm setting. Camp host friendly. - ThePattersons
Oct 2016 - $17.00
Overnight stop on our way home after being on the road for 30+ days. Nice pull thru, wide side to side level, front to rear slight grade. Tables need replacing, some fire rings missing. Utilities good, wifi good. Really quiet!! Narrow road going in. Would stay again. - steelman
Oct 2018 - $30.00
We enjoyed our stay. It is easy on/off the highway and convenient to Huntsville. The hosts are friendly and helpful. There are no frills. Grassy pull-through sites with crushed stone landing pads and full hookups. No picnic tables or fire rings and no bathrooms/showers. Crushed stone roads in the park are easy to navigate with a big rig. We would stay here again. - MrsBowman
Sep 2018 - $30.00
We will stay here again as a half way stop from home to the Gulf. Easy to get to. The first turn off the freeway exit ramp is tight but we didn't have much trouble with our 40' Class A pulling a pickup truck. Nothing fancy and its cash or check only. Super nice owners. Sites were level. We didn't unhook or go any where but it seems to be close to Athens. - Let'sGo!
Sep 2018 - $30.00
Arrived late due to traffic and they left instructions for us. Sites level with granite gravel. Not much shade . NOTE please be sure you come in from I 65 much easier to find this way. GPS does not take you to the right area otherwise. - Gloria S.
Nov 2018 - $18.00
This appears to be am older park that is in need of some TLC. The sites are uneven gravel, the water is in a box that is below ground level and the sewer hook ups are above the finish grade. The staff is very helpful but they close at 5. If you're late find your site and pay in the morning. Sites are $18 one $20. Washer and dryer in the office. Location is between Exits 14 & 15 off of I-565. Park appears to be owned by the foundation that owns the Space & Research Center which is right next door and includes the rocket camp for kids. - Hey You
Oct 2018 - $18.00
We stayed here this visit because Verizon cell phone and data is so bad up at Monte Sano SP. Our site was level and woodsy. All utilities (water, electric, sewer) worked as advertised. I had to treat around the utility service area for ants. There was an active mound next to pad which I also treated. Bring army ant bait and red ant killer with you and treat your pad when you arrive. - moderate camper
Aug 2018 - $20.00
Small park and extremely clean, most lots are fairly level. Would stay again. - bobbodean
Nov 2018 - $25.00
Nice campground with lots of grass area and lake. There is a rifle range which we could hear bug didn't go to see. We were in the newly install pull-thrus. The current rating of 8 is a little generous in my opinion. There is nothing there except a park with the typical dirty public restrooms. The camp host was really nice, courteous and escorted us to our camp site. For new installed I was surprised at how un-level the site was. Make sure you have a pressure regulator, my meter pegged at over 100psi. Our leveling jacks coped with it OK but the rear wheels were off of the ground. Campground was quiet. We would probability stay again but not in a pull-thru. After walking around there are better back-ins. - newbies2016
Jun 2018 - $25.00
Stayed in October for a week and enjoyed this park, will be here a little longer this time. They have added 10 pull through spaces, gravel road and spaces, appears they are for short term stays. This park is much busier than before, I wonder if it is due to the great reviews. - retirednrving
May 2018 - $25.00
This park is an absolute jewel! It's about a 30-minute drive to the Space and Rocket Center. Pristine setting with just about everything you would want for a peaceful few days. There are walking trails, a swimming pool, ball fields, a fishing pond and acres of beautiful open space. One of the prettiest parks we've found. - RDABBA
Dec 2012 - $15.00
Nice park, nice owners, propane on site. Sites are spacious. Slow WiFi, and on weekends it get loud because of the tavern across the street from the campground. Not the owners fault. - bailmanFTRV
Jun 2012 - $20.00
Sites were gravel and mostly flat. Most of those there were seasonal it seemed. This campground is 22 miles from I-65 which we did not expect. And of course 22 miles back to the interstate. You have to use the Highway 64 address for your GPS. Minimal shade. We would not stay here again as it is too far off our I-65 route. - Sunne
May 2012 - $14.00
Passport rate for one night in a travel trailer. Would stay again, pull throughs, quiet, hookups readily available. I did have trouble finding it, my GPS didn't cooperate, so I called for directions. I left this review as it's been awhile since someone left one. - knhllh
Oct 2018 - $34.00
The park has a separate section for people staying short term. It was about 5 miles to Athens Al and 25 to Huntsville. A good location right off Hiway 31. A 4 lane highway Padres right in front so there is road noise but it didn't affect us. Plenty of eating places, grocery stores and shopping close by. Check in was quick and efficient. - leciel19
Mar 2018 - $33.00
Swan Creek is more a mobile home than RV park. The overnight sites are in the front near the very busy road. The sites are long and fairly level with about half grass, half broken concrete. The exit off of the concrete is a short angled drop. Why??? We used our air levelers to raise the coach and then drove verrry slowly and miraculously nothing scraped. We saw scrape marks on site 46 ( our site was 47). The WII FI worked but there were many intermittent long pauses. Directv satellite worked fine as there were no trees near our site. Verizon was 4g 3 bars. You pay for your site when you make the reservation and there is no cancellation policy - new one on me. The office is closed on weekends so we never saw or talked to any employees. There are train whistles and traffic noise. And lots of lights - street lights between sites and a very bright "Welcome" light by site 46. We wouldn't stay here again. - Free
Aug 2017 - $32.00
Very nice campground for a 1 night stop over. FHU site that's about 3 mile off I65 north or south. Park manager was ver accommodating and I believe if we needed anything she would have helped. We called approximately 5 hours out and gave us a spot, gave us the option if we didn't like it she had others but that was not necessary. Site was up front and easy in and out. We would definitely stay again passing through. It appears there may be some full timers in the campground however we were separated from them up front. - Dream Coach
