1 Park near Arnold AFB, Tennessee
May 2016 - $12.00
This park was a great find. It is a lakeside setting in a remote area near Manchester, TN. They can accommodate big rigs as sites are up to 60 ft long. Sites are back-in or pull through. Although they only have water/electric currently at sites, they have been approved to add sewer to the park sites. They have a dump station and laundry. A commissary, BX, and golf course are a short drive away. You can rent a boat, kayak, fishing pole, or similar gear at the recreation office for a reasonable cost. Wifi and tv/satellite can be marginal depending upon your location. There are a lot of trees to interfere with a sat signal. Overall a good value for $12 a night or $300 a month.
Call the park prior to arriving to make a reservation and learn your site number. After arriving you have to unhook and go to the recreation office, which is several miles away, to check-in. Your credit card will be charged when you make the reservation. - sarge 19

Fairly tight roads leading through park. Can be very difficult to back into sites due to trees and posts. A few sites are advertised as "drive thru" but that can be deceiving. Our site was supposed to be a "drive thru" but it had a fire pit in the middle of the drive. I inquired about moving the empty fire pit two feet so I could drive in but was told "absolutely not". The employee told me "it was my problem" on how to get my trailer into the site. Had to back my 5th wheel up a steep incline that caused the trailer to almost hit the top rail of the truck bed. The bathroom was old but clean. Nice location on lake but you need to be very aware of the site you pick if you have a rig over 26 ft. Satellite reception is possible depending on the site. No problem with Verizon phone service. The park WiFi worked well. About 6-7 miles from I-24. Not really convenient. Probably would not stay here again due to uncertainty associated with trees and site locations. - Alaska Jim

Typical military hassle of going through a gate to get to the registration desk three miles down the road. Check-in at 2 pm, check-out is at 10 am. Swimming pool is not in the CG, but there is a swim area in the lake with nice sandy beach. The whole CG is filled with mature shade trees. The showers/latrines are typical no-frills concrete structures. Pull through sites are marked from the wrong side, but we had no problem maneuvering our 29' MH with Ford Ranger in tow. - Full-Time Roamers
