Typical military hassle of going through a gate to get to the registration desk three miles down the road. Check-in at 2 pm, check-out is at 10 am. Swimming pool is not in the CG, but there is a swim area in the lake with nice sandy beach. The whole CG is filled with mature shade trees. The showers/latrines are typical no-frills concrete structures. Pull through sites are marked from the wrong side, but we had no problem maneuvering our 29' MH with Ford Ranger in tow. We camped at Arnold AFB FamCamp (Military Camping Only) in a Motorhome.Undo

Very adequate campground. Rustic and a little rough around the edges but otherwise certainly more than worth the price of admission. Our site (#28) was shown as a pull-thru but that was innacurate; upon arrival at the site we had to back in up an initial steep grade; entire site had moderate slope back to front but level side to side. Don't arrive after dark if you can help it. Site required a fair amount of clean-up upon arrival. Trash in fire ring, cigarette butts littered throughout the campsite, etc. Interior roads are well graveled but at night could be tough to feel your way around if you're not familiar. Sites are gravel and most need freshening up but otherwise were reasonably level. Utilities were located at the wrong end of our site. Extra 50 amp power cord & hose was needed to reach from the power and water hookup to the rear of our camper. Very efficient, friendly and helpful staff at check-in. Several long term permanent RV's with the usual indigent long term stuff scattered around the outside of the RV's giving a poor visual impression of what could be a very nice rustic little campground. We will stay here again. The long termer's sites & their RV's need to be cleaned up or run out altogether. I got the impression the campground was planned and laid out by someone who know's little or nothing about RV'ing. JMHO. We camped at Arnold AFB FamCamp (Military Camping Only) in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
