Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Before peak season, this park was a hidden gem. We were there in April, and the park had only two other rigs during the week, with a few more on weekends.

The park backs up to a large undulating feild, bordered by the Hiwassee River. Mountains are picturesque in the distance. There is a lot of green space.

Pull through sites were level on our end, (site 35), but a bit steep further along. All other sites appeared reasonably level. Utilities were fine. Wi-fi at the lodge was spectacular. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

We stayed an additional week, and will return next year if possible. We camped at Black Bear Cove in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The local IGA was impressive for it's size. There is a Publix a bit further away for major shopping. Driving up through the park was beautiful, especially along the river. Get a guide out of Reliance and go fishing!

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Phone service NA when we called for reservations, but gambled and came anyway. Sure glad we did. Beautiful setting and views of the west side of the Smokey Mountains. Wide sites with 12, 50 amp and service for our ATT cell phone and Verizon wireless internet card. July was terribly hot, so some more shade would have been good, but the pool cooled us off at the end of a day of travel. Owner and others were very friendly. You can tell he has put his heart into making this a great destination. We camped at Black Bear Cove in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It is very easy to describe this place: awesome! The family that built this from the ground up, showed a lot of love for the land and environment. The staff who maintain it are excellent. My son and I made our first trip here and with the exception of going out to the grocery store, we took in what the Cherokee National Forest had to offer along with the Hiwassee River. The campground is within a very short walk to the river, and talk about pristine. They are adding to the whole campground and facility and I can only wish them the best. We have added this to our favorite list. Excellent and very family oriented. We camped at Black Bear Cove in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here with the local Good Sam's club "Sam's Dixie Travelers". It was pouring down when we arrived but from the welcome that we received you would have thought that it was nothing but sunshine outside. The staff were great the site that we had #21 was great and the view was super. While there the club had a vote on the campgrounds that we will go to next year and this one was selected again. Watched the TN vs FL game on cable. The only negative was the WiFi was not strong enough at this site. Took the laptop to the pavilion and it worked great. Watched the gliders sail over the mountains. What a site. They do not charge for WiFi anymore. We camped at Black Bear Cove in a Travel Trailer.

This is an exceptional park with incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Spaces are wide enough to accommodate multiple slides and awnings. There is a large field to exercise your pets. Showers and restrooms are spotless, staff is always friendly and helpful. We have stayed here multiple times and always have had a great experience. We camped at Black Bear Cove in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We had just got our TT and wanted somewhere close to home but still out camping to try it out. This campground is still very new. The owners were great. They made their rounds to make sure everything was in order everyday. I would like to see a bigger play ground for the kids. Tennessee game on a huge projection screen and cook out was one of the activities while we were there. I noticed on their website a pool is going in this season. The down sides for me 1- it was just a big field with camp sites; 2- Not a lot to do in the campground (still new this is in their plans); 3- All roads and sights are gravel. (not sure if they plan to pave). All in all it was nice and if your are coming in from out of town with plans for area attractions I would strongly recommend this camp ground. We camped at Black Bear Cove in a Travel Trailer.
