18 Parks near Blountville, Tennessee
Jun 2008 - $40.00
Bath house was in terrible shape. Broken toilet seats. Toilets were sized for pre-school kids. They advertise a view but camp sites are down in a bowl. Trash piles up at bath house and bath house is not clean. Long overdue for repairs and upkeep. If RV is low there is a drop off going from country road down into camping area and it will cause damage. Residential area and neighbors are not friendly. They drive by and yell insults into the camp ground. - rdean
Aug 2016 - $21.00
This is not your typical KOA. Sites are not level and are packed together. Interior roads are steep and you can drag your RV back end. Rate was after I used Reward Points. This was an overnight stop. Will not stay here again. - Bobo Pruns
Feb 2016 - $42.00
We camped here in the winter and were among the few non-permanent campers here. The pool, pony rides, restaurant, and other summer features weren't available as well (naturally), so I can't speak to those. Everything in that part of Tennessee is hilly, so you can't fault the campground for being on a hillside as well. We arrived late and left early so we didn't meet the staff in person. That all said, there was something droopy about the place. The roads and sites weren't well maintained. We were on route to visiting someone further south in Tennessee and this was a perfectly adequate stopping spot. - ShoreXplorers
Oct 2015 - $42.00
I would have to agree with most that is not the best KOA but certainly not the worst. Friendliness of the staff boosts its rating significantly. I've been here before and finding a way to level my rig is always an issue. Seems to me they could get a tractor with a blade on it and level these sites a little better. - 67fisher
Aug 2009 - $56.00
This campground is owned and operated by a very nice couple. One amazing aspect was how quiet and open it was. Unlike other race week campgrounds around Bristol they do not double or triple up on the sites. The wide sites (35') were ample to spread out your outdoor furniture and awnings and still have room to park your car/truck. The rate charged was more than fair, and in fact was less than campgrounds closer in and provided more space with peace and quiet. We have already made reservations for both spring and fall races for the next two years. - nitewalk6
Jul 2016 - $37.00
I have never given 5 stars across the board to a campground. It is very hard to be that good. But Rocky Top did it for me.
They run a very tight ship there and I appreciate that attitude. Roads are paved and yes some fairly steep place--it's Tennessee.
Most of the sites are terraced so each is or almost is already level. The are either paved or packed clean gravel with a concrete or wood patio. W/E/cable are on one post. My site had 2 places for sewer hook up and I saw others like that too.
There is some space between some sites, less at others. At some there is landscaping for privacy, less so at others. All have advantages.
The bathhouse is in the center of the park and clean and nice is just the start point. There is great water pressure and shower heads are wonderful, nice even spray. Showers have glass doors to keep your dressing area dry, plenty of hooks and a bench for your things. I use the bath house at RV parks and really appreciate a comfortable clean restroom and shower.
Talked with the man/owner quite a bit. He has a very dry wit but it easy to deal with and very helpful.
He will guide you into the back-in sites. I liked this as we had never done that from up a steep hill. If you are very accomplished at backing up a trailer/5th wheel, fine, just relax and let him help you.
There is plenty of space to walk your dog and bags and disposal cans about every 50/70 feet!
It is a small park and stays full most of the summer. We were lucky to get one night . Weekends as usual are booked.
There is no pool or playground, but there is a pay for time sauna. Didn't try this as it was 90 degrees outside. - sunandwater
May 2016 - $37.00
Call for reservations if you have a big rig! There are only a few large sites.
We could not use satellite because of trees. The owner told us they could not guarantee it when we made reservations. WiFi and Verizon were good.
Well kept campground with great owners. - camprats
Apr 2016 - $32.00
Wonderful tidy campground. We were given a goody bag and local paper on checkin.
Did have to use a leveling board at our pull-through site. - AL RVer
Sep 2009 - $27.00
We camped here for the Rhythm & Roots Reunion. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean, roomy, and very private. The staff was exceptional and went out of their way to assist in any way needed. We will stay here again. - Camping and lovin it
Mar 2009 - $20.00
A Christian ministry campground, but they don't preach to you. Its alcohol free - which is good for the kids. They offer hot showers, a movie and popcorn (free) and breakfast on Sat & Sun for a "donation" - they're only there in March and August for Bristol race and offer free shuttle transportation to the race track. The workers are all volunteer, but the way they treat you, you'd think they were paid. It was a very nice weekend for our family. - MsBeth
Jul 2010 - $90.00
We stayed at Thunder Valley for the August night race. We arrived on Thursday morning, and left Sunday morning. We had the site by the bathroom. They really pack you in for camping during the race. We were in a 20x40 spot, but it didn't' really matter! The bathrooms, were dirty, but that's to be expected with all those NASCAR fans showering. So we used our bathroom and shower in our RV. The hosts were wonderful! Would definitely camp there next year when we go back! - keywest22
Aug 2009 - $40.00
Apparently this campground has really gone downhill in the last few years. We camped there just last week. We had a creek side site: bad idea; the creek flooded, and so did we almost. When asked they didn't know where they would move people because they were full. Our friends reserved campsites together before they left the last time. When they arrived in August they found they were split up and not at the site they had had for 5 years. The owner/mgr is pretty stuck on herself and not worried about making campers happy. They are only in it for money, and the thing is they bill months early, and then the money is all spent by the time race time rolls around. Bathrooms and showers were not clean. There are thousands, and I mean thousands of people there and 14 showers total in a bath house all the way up front. Only 5-7 of those showers worked at any one time. They have a hill in the campground that you must use to get out and most campers bottom out on it, tearing up people's RV's. On race week the drunks are up until 5am. We don't have kids, but that was ridiculous every night. And if you get an electric site they are charging $450.00 for race week. I can and am going to Bluff City. I would rather stay in a clean, well lit, calm place than somewhere as nasty as Thunder Valley. I'm sorry I gave them my $250.00 this last year; the camping was not pleasant. Heard they are in trouble with IRS about taxes also. Goodbye, Thunder Valley. - lmckee000
Mar 2009 - $65.00
Used to stay here quite a bit but in recent years it seems like they are more interested in the condos than they are the campers. Bath houses have gone down hill and the dust will choke you. - Al Chichester
Jul 2016 - $32.00
Our 50 amp had 2 legs and half of it was out. It took them about 3 hrs to get it fixed before our AC worked correctly. They had an electrician on site who got new parts and got it fixed. WIFI was out for most of our stay and they have no cable but you can get plenty of stations over the air. We had a nice shady spot as it was 97 degrees. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Entrance to the park is very steep and a little tricky but once in the sites are nice and level, grass and gravel. We had a lot of rain but sites or roads were not a problem. - kwilliam
May 2016 - $16.00
Large park with both gravel and grass sites. Great place to stop and relax overnight or a couple weeks. Lots of country music and bluegrass history in the area. Park is about 1/2 mile from Bristol Motor Speedway. We arrived the week after the big race so park was quiet. New managers are great folks and make sure you are happy with your site. Most sites are 30 AMP but manager want to convert more site to 50A.
Unless you know where the park is you may miss it and drive is a little steep in and out when towing car on a dolly. Big rigs seem okay with toad being towed 4 down
We arrived the week after the Spring race and ended up staying a couple of weeks to enjoy the Tri-Cities area. We have seen some of the changes that the new managers have begun are thoroughly impressed with their ideas for Shadrack. We have been treated as part of their family while here and We can't wait for our next trip through the Bristol area to see how much the campground will have changed throughout the rest of the spring and summer months. - xqzmepleze
Dec 2015 - $20.00
Close to the raceway. Sites close together. Stayed on way to Florida. Interesting driveway into campground (hard to see). - PinkPanther
Jun 2016 - $33.00
Park is located on a rather steep area sloping down to a river. As such, the site rows are terraced and the row we were on had a substantial upward pitch from front to back. The sewer hook-up was in back and the upward pitch made draining of holding tanks difficult. There was only one water hook-up for every two sites so we had to share with a neighbor. This required 50' of hose. The park has individual bathrooms in the bathhouse which is nice. However, liquid soap and paper towels had run out in several of the bathrooms and was not replenished during the three days we were there. Water was frequently standing on the floors. This along with the dusty gravel driveways made the floors dirty. The Wi-Fi was often difficult to access even when close to the office. The pool appeared to be clean and was nicely furnished with tables and chairs. - Whisky Mike
Jun 2016 - $33.00
Easy Big Rig access off I-81 but 8 miles on good highway. Roads & sites gravel and mostly level. Cable TV works well and Wifi just okay. Utilities work as should. Clean park with friendly staff. Park terraced on hill but easy driving through park. Stayed in pull through site with easy access and fit 62' rig & toad with ease. Would stay here again. - osok
Jan 2016 - $36.00
Easy access into the paved entry road off of Hwy 11E. Hosts most helpful & informative. The S Hoston Lake is at record low levels due to lower dam difficulties & hosts stated repairs will take several years thus no motorized boat activity. Campground includes level graveled pull-thrus & back end sites in multi levels overlooking the river. - L&R0924J
Jun 2016 - $20.00
This shady park provides tenting sites, mostly shorter sites, and a few longer sites, with most back-in type, though we pulled in to ours since it gave us the best view, best shade, and easy in and out.
Sites are assigned, and reservable, though we showed up without reservation, and were even allowed to choose our own site before registering, nice.
There are also two different dump stations, one at the entrance, and another at the far back of the park, with plenty of space.
I noticed some 'one way' signs, but saw many vehicles and rvs going the opposite way - the signage is confusing. - hturnerfamily
May 2016 - $20.00
We stayed at Warriors' Path on Memorial Day weekend with several friends. We all got sites in the loop on the west end of the campground (81,83,85,87, & 89), which was perfect for us. Not a lot of shade in the middle of the loop, but lots of trees on the outer edges. Bathrooms in the loop consisted of 4 private, ADA accessible, shower/bathroom units. They were brand new, clean, and spacious. We struggled getting our 5th wheel into our spot because of the angle and drop off on the other side of the road; however, it fit our beast in nicely once we got it in there. There are tons of amenities in the campground, to include a lake with boat/paddleboat rentals, a world-class playground, and lots of camping trails. A bit disappointing that there was not a swim area or beach. A short walk from our camping loop there was an out-of-commission boat ramp, so we at least put our feet in. Some people (not in our group) swam from this ramp, but I highly discourage it - there were boats going by in the lake and nothing to identify the swimmers. - Mary A
Oct 2015 - $16.00
Pretty park, something for everyone. Quiet and pretty foliage.
Appearance of the park was fine. Sites were spacious. Facilities were easy to connect and located in a convenient spot. Roads were easy to navigate if you come in on the main road. GPS took us through neighborhoods that were very hilly and narrow roads. - Thelma Jayne

Called today 5/28/13 and was informed that this campground is closed permanently and will not reopen. Site has been purchased by others and is being redeveloped for purposes other than a campground. - wintertexan
May 2011 - $28.00
I will never stay at this campground again! We made two reservations for our trip - one in each direction to break our long drive. On the first leg of our trip, we were delayed in traffic for hours and didn't arrive until 5:30 am. Exhausted, we put our rent money in an envelope with a note explaining our late arrival and left it in our door for the manager. They woke us up at 9:30 am wanting to know when we were leaving! We had to pay $10 extra to stay until 1:00 pm, and check out wasn't until 12:00! On the second leg of our trip, after driving for eight hours, we arrived at the campground only to find there was not an empty site. We called the manager, and she said someone had decided to extend their stay so she didn't have a site for us. It didn't matter that I had called weeks ahead to make my reservation. We had to drive seventeen more miles to find a place to sleep. This is a great location for an overnight stay, but the management is so undependable and unprofessional, I will never stay at this campground again. - mpscott
May 2010 - $28.00
This campground is okay for an overnight stop. It is very conveniently located and there are food stores and Wal-Mart nearby. It is a typical RV parking lot but with quite a few that looked like long term or permanent residents. The park manager is a little old lady who can't come to you so you have to call and then go to her trailer. The lack of security and the group that was outside drinking until late made us a bit uneasy but the night went without incident. We would most likely seek out another campground if we returned to the area. - bgbassman
