The folks at Davy Crockett Campground have done a terrific job updating and upgrading the resort. Pool, basketball, tennis, weekend activities. Easy to get to. We've been there three times and although it was only for one night stopover, we were very impressed. Friendly, accommodating staff. Just a neat place. One negative... the picnic table outside our unit is next to our neighbor's water, electric and sewer connection, meaning some spots are pretty close together. But you can move that table. We camped at Davy Crockett Campground in a Motorhome.

We love this place. We have tent camped and stayed in a trailer in Campground 1. We love the creek - it's our favorite of all the parks we've been to this summer. Playground is great and safe for kids to bike around the Campground loop. Sites on the creek are great but you'll have to park on the grass across from your site since they aren't long enough. Our site had a path to the creek, was shady and wooded, but couldn't fit much larger of a trailer than our 22' hybrid. The state park has lots of little things to do like a small museum and a waterfall play area. Lake was not that exciting - too hot to be in the sun in June. We camped at Davy Crockett Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park has a lot of trees, in fact it is like a village in the woods. The Wilderness Lodge is made from logs and has a restaurant, large television and games area for children all in the same large room and the owners live on the two floors above this area. The owners guide you to your campsite and they are friendly, nice people who will do anything to make your stay a great experience. The resort has a wonderful large, sunken, rectangular hot tub in a special building, a wood-heated salt water swimming pool and a lake with catch & release fishing. They have very nice log cabins. There are many activities during summer weekends like barbeques, fish frys, movies and wagon rides. It is dog friendly. It is close to the interstate but does not have traffic noise and is very peaceful. They have 50 full hookup RV sites. If you do not like a rustic campground with log buildings and many trees, you will not like this campground. If you are trying to have a wilderness escape, you will love it. We camped at Davy Crockett Campground in a Motorhome.

The campground looks like maybe it has new owners who are trying to turn it around. There is still a lot of work to be done. When we first arrived, we almost asked for a refund and left. The site that we chose was nowhere near large enough for our setup and the CG has some tight spots to maneuver in. However, the employees here did a great job in trying to ensure we had an enjoyable weekend. The site we were moved to was nice 50/30A FHU site with no issues whatsoever. They also have a lake for fishing. A pool, which was not open yet, is on the grounds and looks to be very well maintained. The basketball / tennis court was nice, but the hoops had some issues that need immediate attention. outdated sandbox and a shuffleboard / horseshoes area. We did not use the bathrooms so I cannot comment on those. Verizon service was great. All in all, we had a good weekend sitting by the fire as a family, and in the end, that's what this is all about. If you're looking for a decent place to get away, this is a good spot. If you're looking for resort quality camping, you might want to move along down the road. We camped at Davy Crockett Campground in a Travel Trailer.
